Lucknow University Admissions

Lucknow University UG Admissions

The university offers various UG programmes including BA, B.Com, LL.B and BCA on the basis of entrance test. Eligible candidates who clear the university entrance test are intimated for interview round on the basis of merit obtained.

Those seeking admission can apply through the online submission portal available at the official university website. Upon submitting duly filled-in applications along with the required fee, students are qualified to appear for the university entrance exam. Registrations for UG Admissions usually starts from mid-April every year and last date for submitting applications online is set in the month of May.

Lucknow University PG Admissions

The university offers various PG programmes viz. M.Com, LL.B, LL.M, M.Sc., MVA and MCA. Admission of candidates to most of the PG courses is done on the basis of marks obtained in the Graduation/Qualifying Examination except for those courses where mentioned. Counseling Schedule for students who possess the required eligibility criteria will be published on the university website.

Registrations for PG Admissions generally begins from mid-May every year and last date for submitting applications online is set in the first week of July. Those who wish to apply can submit duly filled-in applications along with the required fee through the online admission portal available at the official university website.

Lucknow University Ph.D Admissions

The university also offers research programmes such as Ph.D in different departments. Candidates seeking admission can apply through either of the following methods:

  • Through Qualifying Entrance Test (QET)
  • Direct Interview (Exemption from QET)

Candidates from both the categories would be pooled together and will be required to undergo interview process. Selection of candidates would be done on the basis of their performance in the interview round.

Lucknow University Admit Card

The university admit cards for entrance examination as well as final semester/ annual examinations are uploaded on http://luexam.net/. Candidates can view the admit cards and download it by entering their respective Form Number.

Lucknow University Exam Time table

The university exam time table is uploaded on the official website and students can check it under the “Examination” section. Next, students can go to the “Examination Schedule” page and view their semester/ annual exam timetable upon selecting from the following options:

  • BP/Imp Examination
  • Semester Exam
  • Annual Exam  

Similarly, students can click the “Practical & Viva” link and view their Practical Examination Schedule as per the respective course and semester from the following options:

Lucknow University Results

Lucknow university follows both annual and semester system for its courses. In case of BA, B.Sc, B.Com programme, the university conducts annual examination whereas semester system is being followed for LL.B, BCA, BBA and other PG courses offered by the university.

Lucknow University annual/ semester results are uploaded on the official website within several days from examination. Candidates can view the scorecard from the results portal upon entering their roll number.

Students can check their final examination results from the official website by following the below given steps:

  • Student should log on the official Lucknow University website and go to the “Results” tab
  • Under the “Results 2015-16” section, students should click on “Annual Courses” or “Semester Courses” and further choose the course name/ semester type as per their requirement

About the College

The idea of starting University at Lucknow was first mooted by Raja Sir Mohammad Ali Mohammad Khan, Khan Bahadur, K.C.I.E. of Mahmudabad, who contributed an article to the columns of "The Pioneer'' urging the foundation of a University at Lucknow.

It is associated to:

  • Association of Indian Universities (AIU)
  • Distance Education Council (DEC)


  • Sir Harcourt Butler, the Lt. Governor of the United Provinces, took up the cause of the proposal.
  • The foremost venture to carry the University into being was taken when a General Committee of persons and educationists gathered at Government House, in Lucknow, in November, 1919.
  • Different accreditations incorporate National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC); National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE); Bar Council of India (BCI).
  • ​The University had established itself as a respected seat of learning and was especially famous for the teaching of English Literature.
  • University of Lucknow is one of the largest universities in India with over 101 affiliated colleges and over 100,000 students.

  • In negotiation with Harvard University, Boston, USA for a research project.
  • “A Collaborative Volume on UP Economy”, by Prof. Arvind Mohan,University of Lucknow, Shri Alok Ranjan, APC & IIDC, Govt. Of UP & Prof. Akshay Mangla, Harvard University, USA (in Print).
  • Industries like L & T, WIPRO, TCS, Reliance are mentors to different LU-IMS programs.
  • In negotiation with University of Nebraska, Omaha,USA for the starting collaborative an MBA Program (Jointly).
  • In discussion on startup of a specialized MBA program with Sugar Technology Association of India with assured placement.

National Cadet Corps (NCC): NCC is a Tri-Services Organization, Navy and Air Force, comprising the Army, engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens. It has completed 60 years of glory in the service of the nation.

National Service Scheme (NSS): Lucknow University is one of the 37 Universities in India, where NSS was launched in 1969,the Birth centenary of Mahatma Gandhi. L.U. NSS started its career in 1970-71 with involvement of 1400 students. Now it has more than 15.000 volunteers. It has about 115 trained programme officers. The scheme being operative spreads to 32 degree colleges affiliated to the University. The main activities of the scheme include:

  • Adoption of villages and slums for cleanliness and literacy drives
  • Environmental conservation
  • AIDS Awareness programme
  • Health and Immunization/Participation in pulse polio drive.

  • Tagore Library: It is the Central Research library of the University. It is respected as one of the oldest, well organised and richest libraries of India.
  • Central Facility for computational Research (CFCR) (Computer Cluster): It has been established from the funds received from the University Grants Commission, New Delhi under the scheme additional assistance to Universities covered under section 12(B) of the UGC Act 1956. The CFCR Computer cluster contains one master node and five compute nodes. Each node consists of 16 processors making a total of 96 cores. The softwares that are currently installed are Gaussian 09, MATLAB and Mathematica. 
  • Auditorium: The Auditorium is the home to all the big events that take place in the University. From Seminars to conferences, Cultural programs to fests, everything is held in the auditorium.
  • Hostel:- The University has sixteen hostels and provides separate accommodation for boys and girls.The hostel rooms are allotted on twin-sharing basis and the present capacity is nearly 3000 inmates.
