Calicut University is an affiliating university in the state of Kerala. It is the second university to be established in the state. Directorate of Admission (DoA) is a department specially designed to conduct the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) for all UG, PG, M.Phil & Ph.D courses offered at CU Affiliated Colleges.
UG CAP has been acquired by university to grant admission in courses offered by Calicut University in the fields of Arts, science & Technology. Under university scheme, separate seat allocation has been performed for the students looking for admission.
Admission to the PG Programmes in University Teaching Departments (including PG programmes to which admission is based on entrance examinations) will be conducted through Centralized Admission Process (PG CAP).
Admission to M.Phil.and Ph.D. courses is based on an entrance test conducted by the University and on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination followed by an interview. The entrance exam will consist of objective and descriptive type questions of 50 marks each, and the duration of the exam will be two hours.

Students can choose up to 20 courses in UG Programmes in order to apply in the affiliated colleges of Calicut University. Whole application process for UG courses involves three stages.
First stage includes online registration in Calicut University, students have to submit their application fee (to serve this purpose special payment gateway has been designed by university authorities) via SBT E-Challan or Friends Janaseva Kendrum or Akshaya Centers. After that they need to upload their photograph & signature followed by filling of personal details.
The Second stage will be completed only after declaration of result as it requires the submission of qualifying marks. The Third stage is the final stage of admission; here students have to submit their application form.
In order to apply for the courses in Calicut University, students have to apply directly through the official website of the Calicut University. To secure admission in MBA programme, aspirants have to qualify in the Kerala Management Aptitude Test (KMAT). Apart from KMAT, candidates who will qualify in CAT 2016/MAT 2016/XAT 2017 or any other national entrance test will get preference.
Calicut University releases result notification for regular & trial allotments with respect to the number of seats available in the affiliated colleges. Students can grab all the result related information through the Controller of examination-Pareeksha Bhavan. Students can check the allotment results through CU’s official website only. Calicut University declares its internal exam results on semester basis for both UG & PG courses every year. As soon as the result is out, students have to login to the University of Calicut exam results portal. Result for both regular & supplementary candidates is declared simultaneously. Students have to just enter their registration number (allotted by the controller of examination say Pareeksha Bhawan) & a desired captcha. Students can also check the result of their concerned courses whose result has already been published by the University of Calicut.
Calicut University School of Distance Education (UOC SDE) is a major education provider in Kerala with an annual enrollment of more than 60,000 students. Currently, the School offers 16 graduate courses, 13 postgraduate courses in distance mode.
Distance Education department offers eleven master’s degree programs in Arts whereas one in Commerce and one in Science. The Application procedure for all the courses is same. Candidates are admitted directly to the programs, and may seek spot-admissions.
It offers twelve bachelor’s degree programs in Arts, Five in Commerce, three in Business Administration. Students can apply in UG Distance courses along with details of challan & recent photo & signature. Now click on “SDE-UG Regular Admission”. Students can check their results by navigating to the official website of DDE of Calicut University. They have to enter their allotted registration number followed by a valid captcha. After submission of these details result status will be displayed on the screen.

Research Centre:
Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMRC) at the University of Calicut is one of the 17 Centres set up by the UGC to produce video programmes for broadcast on Doordarshan network, and conduct research in the hardware and software aspects of audio visual technology. The Centre is also expected to produce interactive educational multimedia CDs and WBTs.

The Calicut University Library, established in 1971 and later renamed after C.H. Mohammed Koya, (the former Minister for Education, Government of Kerala), is primarily concerned with the conservation and dissemination of knowledge to its users. It plays an important role in the provision of information to the academic community in the Malabar region. It has a collection of about 95,000 books and subscribes to 218 Journals and 16 Newspapers.
