Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Womens University or SNDT Women’s University holds the credit for being the country’s and probably south Asia’s first women’s university While its headquarters is at Churchgate in Mumbai, the main campus is located at Santacruz-Juhu, Mumbai. Besides, these two campuses, this ninety year old university has one campus in Pune. It was in 1920 that the university got its present name and has been running in full glory from its time of inception. It boasts of 26 affiliated colleges in various states like Bihar, Maharashtra, Surat, Goa, Assam, etc, which together comprise of 11 UG and 38 PG departments. It believes in the motto that an enlightened woman can be a source of unlimited power and aims to create an inclusive world where everybody is treated as equal and special emphasis is given to women empowerment.
