The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is a distance learning national university located in New Delhi. The university has its presence in the whole country with over 4 million students and growing, IGNOU is the largest university in the world. The university established in 1985 was set up with aims to provide equal opportunities to all the segments of society and to promote distance/open education in India.
IGNOU also acts as a national resource center, and works towards promoting and maintaining standards of distance education in India. It also hosts the Secretariats of the SAARC Consortium on Open and Distance Learning (SACODiL) and the Global Mega Universities Network (GMUNET) initially supported by UNESCO.
IGNOU serves over 4 million students in India, the headquarters, and 40 other countries abroad. It also has 21 schools and a network of 67 regional centres, 2667 study centres, and 29 overseas centres spread across 15 countries. Approximately One in five students enrolled in higher education in India is enrolled with IGNOU.

IGNOU Registration Process
Students can register online to secure admission in the courses offered by IGNOU under its Online Admission System (OAS). Students must follow the given steps to register themselves:

After completion of all details click on ‘make payment’ & pay through debit/credit card or net banking (INR 60 only).
Status of Application:
Students can check their application status by simply clicking on the ‘Know your status’ section on the home page of OAS. They have to enter their contact number & the application status will be displayed on the screen (whether the application is successfully submitted on in progress).
Note: Students can also re-register themselves by following the same application platform as is given for general registrations.
IGNOU has released the date sheet for term end examination for the December session. Students can download the course-wise date sheet by navigating to the official website of IGNOU. Students have to satisfy the prescribed rules in order to be eligible for the December TEE. Registration for all of the courses must be valid, not time biased. The University conducts the TEE in two sessions, namely forenoon & afternoon. Students are advised to follow the below mentioned steps in order to download their Exam Date Sheet:
IGNOU is a largest open University in the field of distance cum private education in almost every field of education. The University conducts several exams to offer admission in various Doctorate, UG, PG, Diploma and certificate courses. Students can register online/manually in order to get admission in the people’s University. Evaluation Process in IGNOU
IGNOU follows a unique three-stage process to measure the performance of a student.
Computer Marked Assignments (CMA) are required to be sent to the IGNOU campus while the Tutor Marked Assignments (TMA) have to be sent to the respective study centres.
