Indraprastha University Admission 2017:

Admission to various Undergraduate, Post Graduate and Research programs in IP University is carried out in the month of March. The admission is based on marks scored in IPU CET and RAT (for Ph.D. programs).

IPU CET Entrance Exam

IP University conducts an entrance exam IPU CET i.e. Common Entrance Test for admission to Engineering, Medical, Law, Nursing and Pharmacy courses in the university and its constituent colleges. The exam is conducted in the month of April. The basic eligibility for IPU CET for UG Courses is a pass in 10+2 with minimum 55% marks and not more than 21 years of age at the time of admission.

Students who wish to take admission in PG Courses of the university, also need to appear in IPU CET exam and must have a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field.

The university has codes for CET for different courses. If any student wishes to apply for more than one course, he/she has to fill separate application forms with different CET codes. The codes for a different course is mentioned below in the article.

The syllabus of CET for undergraduate courses include topics covered in 10+2.

The marking scheme followed by IPU in IPU-CET is:

  • Right Answer – 4 marks
  • Wrong Answer – Negative Marking of 1 mark

For admission to B.Arch. program, students need a valid score in NATA. IP university forms or IPU CET forms are available on the university website every year from the month of March as the registration process starts. The university also accepts GATE score for admission to M.Tech. program.

IP University form has 3 categories from which students choose the category they need to apply for: Engineering/ Professional/ Medical Courses, Ph.D. Programs, Post Graduate Medical Courses.

IPU CET Admit Card

IPU CET Admit Card will be available online before seven days before IPU CET exam. Students can download the admit cards by IPU login-in ID and password. Candidates will not be allowed to sit for the exam without the admit card.

The candidates should have 2 copies of the admit card, with their passport sized photograph pasted on both the copies. One copy of the admit card will be signed by the invigilator and retained by the candidate, while the other copy has to be submitted to the invigilator.

The admit card must be kept carefully as the university will not entertain the request for duplicate admit card under any circumstances.

IP University MBBS

IPU MBBS and BDS admissions are based on the marks scored in NEET exam. Students who wish to opt for MBBS or BDS will need to appear for IP counseling for NEET exam for admission to the following medical IP University colleges:

  • Hindu Rao Medical College
  • Vardhman Mahavir Medical College

IP University Counseling

The counseling process is carried out after the declaration of IP results of the entrance exams (IPU-CET/ NATA/ NEET). The university further categories the process in two steps: First counseling and Second counseling. The list of students who are called for counseling is displayed as a list on the university’s website. If the seats are not filled in the first counseling, the second and third counseling is carried out, as per the requirement.

The students need to appear at the notified venue on the provided date and time, else the admission will be canceled. According to the rank in the qualifying examination, students are called for counseling for course allotment and document verification.

Internal Exams

Minor exams and class tests of Semester 1 and 2 are conducted for different IP University courses in the month of September and October. These exams also include an oral examination and dissertation for various courses. The marks obtained in minor exams are added to scores of semester exams which are held in the month of May/June. The final IP results are calculated keeping in mind the marks scored in minor exams, class tests and semester exams. The result is declared in the month of July every year.

Research:

  • The project titled "Media & Youth (A comparative analysis of New Media preference of youth in metro and remote area)” has been sanctioned to Dr. Durgesh Tripathi, Asst. Professor, for period of two years (April 2013-March 2015) by UGC
  • The project titled "Films on T.V. Viewing Habits of Youth (A Comparative Study of Delhi & Meerut)" has been sanctioned to Dr. Sachin Bharti, Asst. Professor, for a period of One year (April 2013-March 2014) by UGC

Extra-curricular Activities:

  • ‘REACT'– University organizes ‘CHEMCHORD’ a national level student seminar on various growing issues like safety, the environment in coordination with IIChE every year.
  • RASRANG- It is a creative-cum-critical platform for the students to experience and learn the finer nuances of fine arts and performing arts.
