Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), commonly known as Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), currently offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral courses in various streams viz. engineering, pharmacy, architecture, hotel management and catering technology etc.
With its headquarters at IET Lucknow campus and a Regional Office located in Noida, the university has over 700 affiliated colleges spread across the state of Uttar Pradesh.
For admission to all UG courses, the university conducts Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) every year whereas separate university entrance tests are held for PG and PhD admissions. Interested candidates can appear in UPSEE exam subject to the condition that they must fulfill the eligibility criteria at the time of counseling.
The university follows semester system for all its courses divided in the following two phases - Odd Semester and Even Semester. Examination Schedule and Results for the respective semesters are uploaded on the official UPTU website from where students can view/download it.

For various UG Admissions, the university conducts state-level entrance examination (UPSEE) in different centres across India. Candidates should possess the relevant qualifying degree in order to be eligible for appearing in entrance examination. UPSEE is usually conducted in the month of April every year for admission to following AKTU courses:
Aspiring candidates can register themselves by filling-in the online application form available at the official UPTU website. For Offline submission, candidate may contact any of Help-Desks at Institutions of UPTU. For both Online and Offline applications, the confirmation page must reach to the Registrar, UPTU through registered post within the stipulated time. Read more about UPSEE Admissions.
UPSEE results are published on the official AKTU website where students can check the marks upon entering their respective roll numbers. Final admission of all the shortlisted candidates to the respective courses is done through university counseling process on the basis of UPSEE merit list.
In case of admission to first year M.Tech, M.Arch and M.Pharm programme in various disciplines in the institutions affiliated to UPTU, the university conducts separate entrance test. The candidates having valid GATE score are exempted from the university entrance examination. Detailed admission schedule can be obtained from the official AKTU website.
Similarly, a separate entrance test known as RATE (Research Aptitude Test) is being conducted by UPTU to shortlist students for Ph.D admissions in various disciplines. Final selection of students to Ph.D program with or without “Teacher Fellowship” is done on the basis of written test followed by an interview of the qualified students as per merit.
Candidates seeking admission to PG/ Ph.D programmes are required to fill an online application form through the university website and submit it along with the required fee of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 500/- for SC/ST candidates). Read more about UPTU PG/ Ph.D Admissions.
Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) classes and examinations are conducted as per the semester system i.e. odd and even semester for all its programmes.
End semester examinations are usually conducted in December/ January for odd semester and in the month of May/ June for even semesters. AKTU examination schedule for odd/ even semester is published on the university website where students can find it under the “Circulars” section. AKTU Semester Results are also uploaded on the university website within a month from the examinations.
Candidates can check their semester or carryover paper results from the official AKTU website upon selection their university region and entering their Exam Roll number. This result will be accepted as a provisional result and the candidates can obtain the original copy of the result from their respective college offices.

Candidates who are studying or have passed from the university can view their end semester examination results for all the semesters from the AKTU One View portal available at the official university website.
To view the current/ previous years’ regular/ carryover results, candidate should enter his/her university roll number along with the provided captcha code and click on “Submit” button.

Under the University Act, 'Technical Education' includes programmes of education, research and training in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Town Planning, Pharmacy, Applied Arts & Crafts and such other programmes and areas that the central Government may in consultation with All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) by notification in Gazette declare.
