NID organizes DAT (Design Aptitude Test) to determine design abilities of candidates want admission. The students appear for DAT on exam date. The application form can be filled online at the college website. The college announces hall tickets for students. It is a two and half hour exam organize for admission in courses like B. Des and M. Des. After completion of a procedure, the results are uploaded on official website
NID DAT 2018 exam doesn’t have any set syllabus. The question will be asked on basics topics such as Communication Skills, Composition, Creativity, Drawing Skills, General Mental Ability, and Sensitivity to Environment and Subjects of Design. It will be organized in 2 stages i.e. Prelims and Mains.
DAT Prelims is a three-hour test organized across the country simultaneously on a single day and time slot. It is a pen and paper based test with no negative markings. The students have to fill the OMR sheet which would be evaluated digitally. The question paper is in English and all questions are mandatory.
DAT Prelims consist of two sections: Section I and Section II
Section I: Multiple-choice questions marked out of 70 points. This part has questions with one or more than one accurate response.
Section ll: Subjective questions marked out of 30 points, with answers to be offered in visual and/or written patterns.
Based on the DAT Prelims scores, separate merit lists are prepared for each category (OPEN, OBC-NCL, SC, ST & PwD). The test center will be NID Ahmedabad. In order to be considered for the merit list, an aspirant must appear for all the tests in both the DAT Prelims and the DAT Mains. Shortlisted aspirants only are qualified to appear for the DAT Mains exam. The DAT Mains f consists of tests in various patterns such as drawing/sketching, hands-on model making, group discussions, presentations etc. The Mains is marked out of 100 points and is organized in English.
