Malda College is part of the University of Gour Banga in West Bengal. The college exams are organized by the university at its own central level. The college provides both graduate and postgraduate courses in Science, Arts, and Commerce.
For undergraduate courses, the exam format is annual, while it is semester- based for the postgraduate courses provided at the university.
Class tests for undergraduate courses provided by the college are held on a regular basis via the year; and just prior to the university’s final exam, a test conducted centrally is organized to assess the students’ final preparation. This format is common between both graduate and postgraduate courses.
The final examination results for both courses of the college are prepared and declared by the university.
The final examination for all the courses are held by the university at the end of the academic year, i.e. April- May and the results are declared soon after, in the following months. The final results for both course’s final exams are released at Gour Banga University’s official website.
In case of one or two uneligible exams, the aspirant needs to appear for supplementary exams in the related subjects. Options for checking both kinds of results (regular exam results and supplementary exam results) are available on the website.
In case students of the college are not satisfied with their obtained final exam scores/ results, they have the option of applying for revaluation of their response sheets.
Such students can apply for revaluation on the university’s official website, and appear for the revaluation exams organized by the university in November- December. These results too are declared soon in the following months by the university on its official website

The college offers enrolled students the option of getting their response sheets revaluated in the case of gratification with the attained final exam results. Students can avail of the provision by following the necessary process, i.e. applying for revaluation on the university’s official website once the university has released the results.
Malda College also offers aspiring students the option of studying its many courses through distance learning. This is made possible by the college’s tie-ups for the purpose of the University of Burdwan, Netaji Open University, and Vidyasagar University.
Final exams for students enrolled to the distance learning courses are held centrally at the level of the respective university where Malda College has its own learning center so that its students enrolled to distance learning courses may attend classes there. The results for these final exams are also prepared and declared by the respective university at its level. Results for the final exams of distance learning courses can also be checked at the related university’s official website.
The college offers the students physical copies of mark sheets for each academic year (in the case of graduate courses) and for each semester (in the case of postgraduate courses). These marksheets are prepared at the level of the Gour Banga University and can be collected from the college or university’s administrative department.
