Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU or IP or IPU, earlier known as Indraprastha University) is a public, professional university in the New Delhi, India. Established in the year 1998 it is a teaching-cum-affiliating university which affiliates 84 colleges in Delhi-NCR and has 15 schools and centers. The medium of instruction is English to meet the international language standards. The university has been graded 'A' by NAAC.
It is one of the most-known universities in the country and is known for its high standards in teaching and research. It is a teaching and affiliating University with the aims to offer and promote studies, research and extension work in emerging areas of higher education with the focus on professional education. The university provides programs in engineering, technology, management studies, medicine, pharmacy, nursing, education, law, etc.
IP University organizes an entrance exam IPU CET i.e. Common Entrance Test for admission to Engineering, Medical, Law, Nursing and Pharmacy courses in the university and its constituent colleges. The basic eligibility for IPU CET for Under Graduate Courses is a pass in 10+2 with minimum 55% marks and not more than 21 years of age at the time of admission. The exam is organized in the month of April.
Students who wish to take admission in Post Graduate Courses of the university, also required to appear in IPU CET exam and must have a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field.
The university has various Common Entrance Tests (CET) for various courses. If any student wishes to apply for more than one course, he/she has to fill separate application forms with various CET codes. The codes for various courses are mentioned below in the article.
IPU CET Hall Ticket will be available online before seven days before IPU CET exam. Students can download their hall tickets by IPU login-in ID and password. Aspirants will not be allowed to sit for the exam without the hall ticket.
The aspirants should have 2 copies of the hall ticket, with their passport sized photograph pasted on both the copies. One copy of the hall ticket will be signed by the examiner and retained by the aspirant, while the other copy has to be submitted to the examiner.
The hall ticket must be kept cautiously as the university will not entertain the request for duplicate hall ticket under any circumstances.
IPU-CET announces results for CET organized for admission to the university via its official website. Since the university organized separate CETs for all the programs, the results are released nearly throughout the year.

The counseling procedure is carried out after the declaration of IP results of the entrance exams (IPU-CET/ NATA/ NEET). If the seats are not filled in the first counseling, the second and third counseling is carried out, as per the requirement. First counseling and Second counseling. The students required to appear at the notified venue on the offered date and time, else the admission will be canceled. According to the rank in the eligible examination, students are called for counseling for course allocation and document verification.

GGSIPU organizes semester exams for various IP University courses in the month of December and May/June for Odd and Even semesters, respectively. These exams also comprise oral examination and dissertation for different courses. The final IP results are calculated keeping in mind the marks scored in minor exams, class tests and semester exams. The result is declared in the month of July every year. The marks obtained in minor exams are added to scores of semester exams which are held in the month of May/June.
