UPTET 2017 Result and Cut off

UPTET is organized for recruitment of Primary and Upper Primary Level teachers in the schools of Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) is its conducting body and is responsible for the entire examination and recruitment process. 

Latest News on December 15, 2017​: UPTET 2017 Result declared on the official website. Candidates have to use their roll number and the security text to check their result.   

Candidates who qualify UPTET 2017 Expected Cut off will be awarded the UPTET Eligibility Certificate. It is valid for 5 years

There are two papers that candidates can appear in. They have an option to appear for both the exams too. Check out UPTET Syllabus

  1. Paper 1- Primary Level i.e. for Class 1 till Class 5.
  2. Paper 2-  Upper Primary Level i.e. for Class 6 to Class 8.
  • One must score minimum of 60% to clear the exam. This means that out of 150 marks, one must score 90 marks to qualify the exam. Check UPTET Eligibility
  • UPTET Registration closed on September 13. More than 9 lakh candidates have applied this year. Download UPTET Admit Card

Latest News: There is a ray of hope for nearly 66,000 Shiksha Mitras of UP who were appointed for children aged between 6 to 14 years. The Supreme Court on July 25 said that “right to education was a right to quality education”, rejecting its earlier idea of cancelling the appointment of 1.78 lakh teachers in UP Junior Schools. It also said that “consideration for the career of 1.78 lakh Shiksha Mitras, over and above their legal right, cannot be at the cost of fundamental right of children to free quality education by duly qualified teachers in terms of legislative mandate”.

UPTET 2017 Eligibility

  • Candidates who fulfil UPTET Eligibility (minimum of 50% marks in Bachelors) can apply for UPTET exam.
  • They must also have secured 50% aggregate in class XII.
  • Candidates’ age must be between 18 Years and 35 Years.
  • There is no fixed number of attempts in UPTET.
  • Candidates belonging to reserved categories would be given age relaxation as per the norms.

Given below is UPTET Eligibility Criteria for both the posts:

UPTET Qualification of Primary Level (Class 1 to 5)

  • Candidates must complete their graduation from college/university recognized by UGC or those who are studying in the 2nd year of BTC/ passed in an institute affiliated to NCTE
  • Candidates must complete their graduation from college/university recognized by UGC or those who are studying in final year of D.Ed (Specialization) in an institute recognized by RCI
  • Candidates must complete their graduation from college/university recognized by UGC or those who are studying in the 2nd year of BTC (Urdu)/ passed in an institute affiliated to NCTE
  • Candidates must complete their graduation from college/university recognized by UGC or those who are in final year/ passed Diploma in Teaching from Aligarh Muslim University
  • Candidates must complete their graduation from college/university recognized by UGC or those who are Moallim-e-Urdu degree holders from Aligarh Muslim University before August 11, 1997. (For Urdu Teaching)
  • Candidates must score 50% marks in intermediate and who are currently studying in the final year B.EL.ED

UPTET Qualification of Elementary Level (Class 6 to 8)

  • Candidates must complete their graduation from college/university recognized by UGC or those who are studying in the 2nd year of BTC in an institute affiliated to NCTE
  • Candidates must complete their graduation/ post-graduation with minimum of 50% marks from college/university recognized by UGC or those who have passed or currently studying in 2nd year of B.Ed in an institute affiliated to NCTE
  • Candidates must complete their graduation/ post-graduation with minimum of 50% marks from college/university recognized by UGC or those who have passed or currently studying in 2nd year of L.T. in an institute affiliated to NCTE
  • Candidates must complete their graduation/ post-graduation with minimum of 50% marks from college/university recognized by UGC or those who have passed or currently studying in 2nd year of B.Ed (Specialization) in an institute affiliated to RCI
  • Candidates must score 50% marks in intermediate and who are currently studying in the final year or passed B.Ed

UPTET 2017 Application Form

UPTET Registration is available on the official website. The last date to apply is September 13, 2017. Candidates have to visit the official website of UPTET i.e. upbasiceduboard.gov.in to access the application form. It is a 4 step process:

  1. Online Registration- All candidates must enter their complete personal, academic and experience information.
  2. Payment of Fees- Applicants must then make the requisite fee payment as per their category. Candidates can remit this fee via online & offline methods.
  3. Uploading of Documents- Upload all relevant documents, along with your signature & photograph.
  4. Printing of Application Form- Take multiple copies of your filled-in form.
Note: After final submission, a computer generated registration and password would be shown on the screen. It should be noted and preserved for future correspondence.

UPTET 2017 Application Fee

  • Payment of UPTET Application Fees can only be done either on the day of registration or the next working day.
  • Candidates can select any one of the payment methods viz. SBI Internet Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Internet banking or SBI Branch E-challan for cash payment at any SBI Branch.
  • After the payment of UPTET Fees, complete TET Online Form and mention the Registration Number, Date of Birth, and Transaction ID/Journal Number (provided by the bank) and submit UPTET Form.

UPTET 2017 Admit Card 

  • UPTET Admit Card is issued by Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board.
  • It can be downloaded from the official website of UPTET from October 5, 2017 onwards.
  • UPTET Admit Card would contain details regarding the UPTET Paper (Paper 1, Paper 2, Both), the language of paper, exam centre, date & time slot of the exam, roll number and photo of the candidate.
  • In case of any discrepancy observed in the UP TET Admit Card, candidates should immediately contact the official authority. 

How to Download UPTET 2017 Admit Card?

  1. Visit the official website of UPTET
  2. Click on UP TET 2017 Admit Card link
  3. Provide your Registration Number and Date of Birth
  4. Click on Submit
  5. UP TET Admit Card would appear on the screen, take its print out
Note: Those candidates who don’t receive their UPTET Admit Card, can contact the UPTET Helpline or check their names in the Rejected Candidates List.

UPTET 2017 Exam Centers

  • UPTET exam will be conducted in 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh (UP).
  • It is conducted in 2 shifts in over 200 centres across Uttar Pradesh
  • Candidates have to provide their choice of exam center along with their respective codes at the time of UPTET Online Registration.
  • Only 1 exam center has to be chosen while filling UPTET Application Form.
  • Uttar Pradesh Examination Regulation Authority, Allahabad, reserves the final right to allocate an exam center.

UPTET 2017 Exam Pattern

  • UPTET 2017 is scheduled to be conducted on October 15, 2017 in offline mode.
  • UPTET Exam consisted of 2 papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2.
  • Paper 1 will be held for candidates who applied for class 1 to 5 group while Paper 2 will be held for candidates who applied for class 6 to 8 group.
  • Both the papers are of objective type (MCQs).
  • Both the Papers have 150 questions.
  • There is no provision of negative marking in UPTET.
  • All the questions carry equal marks i.e. 1 mark
  • Duration of UPTET exam is 150 minutes.

UPTET 2017 Result

  • UPTET Result 2017 is expected to be declared in April 2018.
  • The official notification for UPTET Result would be published in the newspaper.
  • The result would be announced on the UPTET Website i.e. upbasiceduboard.gov.in.

Note: Candidates can get the copy of their UPTET OMR Sheet/Answer Sheet by paying INR 500 per copy. The payment must be made by DD which should be drawn in favor of Secretary, Examination Controller Officer, Allahabad.

UPTET 2017 Selection Process

  • Candidates who score 60% (90/150 marks) of the total marks would be considered qualified for UPTET Recruitment.
  • However, the reserved category candidates are required to score only 55% marks (82/150 marks) to qualify.
  • Candidates who qualify the exam would be getting the UPTET eligibility certificate.  

UPTET Eligibility Certificate

  • UPTET Eligibility Certificate is valid for 5 years.
  • Eligibility Certificate can be taken from the district education board by providing a copy of UPTET Admit Card and Photo Identity Card.
  • Candidates who want to acquire a second copy of the UPTET Eligibility Certificate can avail by paying fees of INR 300 through DD (Demand Draft) payable at:

UPTET FAQs

Ques.No option is coming in the application form for UPTET fee payment, what to do?

Ans. Complete the registration part and then report the error over email to the authorities, it is a common problem coming up, the authorities will help you out.

Ques.I forgot my registration number, how to get it back?

Ans. On the page, there is a link coming that reads “forgot application number”, click on the link and you will receive your registration number on the registered email id/ mobile number.

Ques.I am SC category, what marks to score in the UPTET exam, to get a seat?

Ans. There is no release of cut off as of now; minimum 90 marks out of 150 must be scored to qualify the UPTET examination.

Ques.My teaching certificate expires in 2017, am I eligible to apply for UPTET 2018?

Ans. Yes, you are eligible but your 1 year may go waste from the previous qualifying examination, best to appear for UPTET 2018 exam.

Ques.I appeared for UPTET in 2016 and 2017, can I apply for UPTET 2018?

Ans. Yes, you can apply any number of times, there is no limit on number of attempts in UPTET.

Ques.I will get any compensation of travel fair for UPTET exam if I am from a reserved category?

Ans. No, there is no provision of any compensation if you are from reserved category or non- reserved category.

Ques.My father’s annual income is below 5 lakhs, can I get OBC benefits in registration?

Ans. If you have OBC certificate, stating income details, then only you can get the OBC benefits. Certificate should not be older than 6 months.

Ques.I need to get a new OBC certificate if I want to apply for UPTET, my certificate was issued in 2016?

Ans. Yes, you need to get a new certificate as the certificate should not be older than 6 months.

Ques.I have missed the UPTET application form correction window, how can I correct the details now?

Ans. There is no provision to correct the details in the application form once the application form correction window has been missed.

Ques.I have a compartment in one subject in my graduation, can I apply for UPTET?

Ans. Yes, you can apply but your seat will be allotted only when you have cleared the entrance exam.

Ques.What is education requirement for upper primary teacher post?

Ans. For applying to the post of upper primary teacher, you must possess a graduation degree with minimum of 45% marks with 2 year diploma in Education or appearing /passed in B.Ed with 50 % marks or have 4 year special Education Diploma with 50% marks.

Ques.I am from Aligarh, if I clear UPTET can I become a teacher in bulandseher primary school?

Ans. Yes, you can, however it depends upon the authorities where to place the recruited staff.

Ques.I work in Moradabad primary school, now if I give UPTET for primary level will I get placed in the same school or not?

Ans. This depends upon the authorities, as there is no provision of extension of service in a particular area, you may or may not get the same school.

Ques.I currently teaching primary level children in UP, through UPTET can I apply for upper primary level teacher post?

Ans. Yes, you can apply for upper primary level teacher post if you clear the UPTET exam for upper primary level teachers.

Ques.If I fail in one of the sections in UPTET, can I apply again for improvement of that section only?

Ans. No, there is no provision of sectional exam or sectional improvement exam, you have to appear for the UPTET complete exam again.

Ques.I am getting error “REGISTRATION/FEE DETAILS ARE INCOMPLETE” although I have submitted my form and application fee, but when I trying to click the final submit it shows error, what to do?

Ans. Just log out of the portal and try to login again, as your application fee has been successfully accepted, it will not ask you to pay the application fee again, then reach the final page and try to submit. If it fails still take a screen shot of the error and send it over email to the UPTET exam body.

Ques.Sir, I want to apply for TET for class I-V and TET for class VI-VIII, so do I have to fill separate application forms, or one form is sufficient?

Ans. One form is sufficient for both the exams.

Ques.I am applying for both TET up to class I-V and class VI- VIII, do I have to pay application fee twice?

Ans. No, you don’t have to pay application fee twice.

Ques.I am from SC background with the minor physical disability, do I have to pay the application fee or not?

Ans. If you have disability certificate (with physical disability more than 40%), then you do not have to pay the application fee otherwise you have to pay application fee of Rs.200.

Ques.I tried to pay the application fee online, the amount was deducted from my account, but still I am getting error “application fee not paid”, then I paid the application fee through SBI challan as the system was showing the same error, how to get a refund?

Ans. Send an email at the help desk stating your transaction ID when paid through credit/debit card and your SBI challan ID. Also, tell the reason for the dual payment. So, you will get a refund in may be 6 months.

Ques.My name spelling is different in Aadhar card and my class 10 certificate, what to do?

Ans. Get the name spelling corrected in Aadhar card as this will be used for further verification later.

Ques.My signature scanned copy is not getting uploaded, it shows the error “file size too big”, but it is under the dimensions defined, please help?

Ans. In this case, try to scan the image again and then upload the file with a new name, it is a technical error that comes sometimes because of server overload in the last few days.

Ques.I have sent a copy of my UPTET application form filled at the UP-secretariat address, but no receiving mail has been sent, should I contact them through the helpline number?

Ans. No, you don’t have to send the copy of the completely filled application form to the authorities.

Ques.Sir, I tried to pay the application fee several times, but it is not working either in the morning or evening, what to do?

Ans. UPTET this time has defined the time frame for payment of application fee. You can pay the fee only between morning 8.00 am to evening 8.00pm.

Ques.How can I prepare the child development and Pedagogy section easily?

Ans. As the section is new, so best to refer to a good book for the section, Child development and Pedagogy can be prepared easily by “UP TET Child Development and Pedagogy”, by Kiran Publications.

Ques.How can I master “Hindi Language” section in 15 days for UPTET exam?

Ans. “Hindi Bhasha” by Diamond Power Learning, is a crash course manual for the rapid learning of Hindi language and Grammar which is needed for qualifying UPTET exam.

Ques.Environment studies section was difficult to attempt last year, so I was not able to clear the exam, how can I improve this year, please help!

Ans. You can get a book named “Environmental Studies” by Wiley Publication, which covers all the syllabus defined by UPTET for EVS.

Ques.Are 10-year papers needed to prepare for UPTET, can you give me the name of some books for UPTET?

Ans. 10-year papers are good, as they give you a rough idea about the paper trends past year. So best 10 years is published by Arihant or Kiran Publication for the Complete guide of UPTET Paper -I & II Exam. Some books/ 10-year papers UPTET are as follows:

Ques.I want to apply for both Mathematics and social science exam, how can I do that?

Ans. You cannot apply for both the subjects, because the paper 2 can be given for only one subject at a time.

Ques.UPTET scorecard will be sent over email or by post to me?

Ans. UPTET result will be announced in April 2018, and you have to download the scorecard from the official website. No provision of sending information over email or through post.
