UPSC has fixed a time frame of 7 days for accepting grievances from aspirants for different examinations organizeed by it. The representation should be sent through mail at from next day of exam till 6 pm of the Seventh day.Check Official Notice

The at least eligibility need to appear for any one of the exams organizeed is a Bachelor's degree. UPSC mainly organizes the appointment procedure in three phases – Preliminary exam, Main exam, and Interview.  There might be some additional eligibility criteria depending upon the post or appointment exam an aspirant wishes to apply for.

UPSC Appointment 2018 Eligibility

Eligibility in UPSC Appointment 2017 varies with the exams. Basic Academic Qualification of most of the exams is Graduation from any recognrecognisedrsity. However, there are few exams that demand graduation, in a particular field/stream as part of the Eligibility.

Civil Services 2018 Important Notice

  • The Prelims exam is scheduled for June 18, 2017.
  • The application procedure will start from February 22, 2017. The last date to apply is March 17, 2017.

UPSC Registration 2018

The Registration for all the exams under UPSC is done at UPSC will notify the aspirants about dates and other important information regarding the exam. Notices and advertisement will be regularly published by UPSC in the leading newspapers and weekly employment news. No Applications will be accepted after the last date. The Registration should be finished before the last date. The Applications will start as per the dates mentioned in the UPSC 2017 Calendar.

To ensure smooth UPSC 2017 Registration Procedure, aspirants must ensure that they have following documents (as need) before starting their UPSC Application.

  • Class XII Marksheet
  • Category Certificate, if eligible
  • Class X Marksheet
  • Medical Certificate, if eligible
  • Scanned Signature
  • Scanned passport size photo
  • Graduation Marksheet

Number of Attempts in UPSC?

The number of attempts in UPSC exam varies on the basis of category of the aspirant as follows:-

  • A SC/ST category aspirant can appear as many as times till 37 years of age.
  • An OBC category aspirant can take the exam maximum  9 times and maximum age is 35 years.
  • For Physically disabled aspirants there is a relaxation of 10 years. They are given 9 attempts for completing UPSC.
  • A General category can appear for UPSC maximum  6 times and the maximum age limit is 32 years.

UPSC Syllabus 2018

The Syllabus of each exam under UPSC is released along with the notification. However, UPSC Syllabus for all exams is similar in many ways. The General Science Section/Paper is asked in most of the exams. While some exams focus on the technical aptitude, other exams give weight to Present Affairs and General Knowledge.

UPSC Result 2018

UPSC will announce the result as per the dates mentioned in Calendar above. The Result will be published in form of Score Cards. The Result for all the exams will be published at the official website i.e. The Merit list displaying the names of all shortlisted aspirants will be published soon after the releasement of Result at the official website. The Shortlisted aspirants will be invited for next level of selection procedure as mentioned in the UPSC Notification.

The Ongoing UPSC Civil Services Prelims result is willing declared. All the qualified aspirants will write the UPSC CSE Mains Examination starting from December 03, 2016. UPSC will release the result IAS Mains examination in April 2017.

UPSC Appointment 2018 Selection Procedure

Qualified aspirants for the written result are called for next level of the selection procedure, GD/PI/WAT. The Selection Procedure varies with the exam and the posts provideed. However, most of the appointment posts follow the mentioned Selection Procedure

Group Discussion

Aspirants are made to sit in batches of 20 or more to discuss any topic assigned by the person in charge. The topics vary from any recent global activity to problems faced by society. At the end of the discussion, aspirants are asked to submit their answer verbally one after another.  Total of 15-25 minutes is allotted to the aspirants to discuss the topic among themselves.

Individual Interview

Following the group discussion, Individual Interview of aspirants is organizeed. Hence it is necessary to test aspirants of their mental and physical strength need for the job. The Individual Interview is organizeed to test aspirants’ confidence, thought procedure and clarity of mind. UPSC entrusts the shortlisted aspirants with a very responsible position.

UPSC Appointment 2018 Medical Test

As per the job requirements, UPSC asks aspirants to go via a medical test before publishing final merit list. The Result of the medical tests is considered while preparing Final Merit List. All the qualified aspirants need to undergo the following test at the allotted medical centre. All the qualified aspirants for the written exam followed by an interview need to undergo a medical test, and the results are submitted to UPSC for further proceedings.

  • Blood Test
  • Mental Stability (Session of Stress Interview)
  • Ophthalmic Test & BMI Measurement
  • Chest X-Ray followed by a test for several other disorders.
  • Urine Test
