Symbiosis Entrance Test Application form and Exam Dates 2018

SET or Symbiosis Entrance Test is a common test organizeed by Symbiosis International University for admission in undergraduate courses. SET is compulsory for the 9 participating schools of Symbiosis University.  The exam is scheduled for May 7, 2017.

Symbiosis Registration is going on. Aspirants can apply online at www.set-test.org.  An aspirant can appear for more than 1 paper. The application for Symbiosis Entrance Test is Rs 1500. Note that aspirants who seekings take admission in health science and engineering courses using scorecard of an entrance test other than SET can apply straight to the respective institutes. 

Latest Updates- The last date to apply for SET 2017 is April 14, 2017. 

SET consists of 5 papers namely- General, Design, Law, Engineering and Health Sciences. In morning session Law and Design paper are organizeed. It is held in 2 sessions- morning and evening session. Check Symbiosis Test Format General, Engineering and Health Sciences papers are organizeed in the evening session.

Eligibility for SET 2018 

The SET eligibility varies for each programme. The detailed SET eligibility for different programmes is offered below. Aspirants must refer to the eligibility requirements for the relevant course before applying.

For B.A., L.L.B. (Hons.) provideed by SLS Pune, Noida and Hyderabad (Hons.) & B.B.A., L.L.B.

  • Aspirants appearing in Class XII can also apply.
  • At Least 45% marks in Class XII from any recognised Board (40% for S.C. /S.T. aspirants).

For BBA-IT and BCA provideed by SCISR

  • Class XII from any stream or equivalent diploma in Engineering / Technology with at least 50% marks (45% for SC / ST category aspirants)

For BBA provideed by SCMS Pune

Indian Students:

  • At Least 50% marks for general and 45% marks for SC and ST category in Class XII or equivalent degree
  • A Pass in Class XII or equivalent course in any branch from any recognised Board / Council / University

For B.Sc. (Medical Technology) provideed by SIHS

  • Pass in Class XII with any two of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Mathematics OR equivalent

For B. Des provideed by SID

  • Aspirants appearing for the final examination of 10+2 grade or 10+3 Diploma program may also apply.
  • Pass in Class XII (any stream) or equivalent or 10+3 diploma approved by State Board of Technical Education with at least 50% aggregate marks

For B.A. M.C. provideed by SCMS Pune and Noida

  • Pass in Class XII (any stream) or equivalent or 10+3 diploma approved by State Board of Technical Education with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST)
  • Participants expecting their 12th results may also apply.

For B.Sc. Nursing provideed by SCON

  • At Least 45% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) in Class XII
  • For SC/ST or OBC, aggregate of 40% in PCB in Class XII
  • A pass in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English personally

For B.Sc. Eco Hons provideed by SSE

  • Class XII pass from any discipline with at least 50% marks for the general category and 45% for SC/ ST category

For B. Tech provideed by SIT

  • At Least 45% aggregate marks (40% for reserved category) in the above subjects
  • Pass in Class 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as mandatory subjects along with one of Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Technical Vocational subject

For B.A. (Liberal Arts) and B.Sc. (Liberal Arts) provideed by SSLA

  • Pass in Class 12 from a recognized Board

Application Form SET 2018 

SET 2017 application procedure involves registration and payment to preferred institutes under SIU. The step by step procedure to apply for SET 2017 is offered below:

  • Please note that for Engineering and Health Sciences, it is not necessary to register for SET if the aspirant wishes to specify JEE (Main) score. Such aspirants can apply straight to their preferred institute.
  • Next step is to pay the application fee amount.
  • Visit the official website.
  • All other aspirants must remember to upload the scanned image of their latest photograph in the need pattern and size, at the time of online registration.
  • After successful registration, all applicable aspirants will be allowed hall tickets.
  • Then, the aspirant will obligatory to pay the fee amount for the chosen institute before the due date.
  • Register for SET 2017 in order to generate your SET ID.
  • The fee can be paid using either online or offline methods of payment.

Application Fee of SET 2018

Aspirants who wish to apply for SET 2017 must pay an amount of INR 1500 as application fee. Reserved category aspirants must also pay the same fee as General aspirants. It must be noted that this fee amount is non-refundable. Also, the category of the aspirants has no effect on the fee amount.

There is a total of five payment options available to remit the SET 2017 application fee. Three of these are online methods of payment while two are offline options.

Online Method of Fee Payment

If an aspirant chooses to pay the application fee online, he can pay through a Credit card, Net Banking or Indian Bank Net Banking.

Offline Method of Fee Payment

In order to pay the SET 2017 application fee in offline mode, there are two options available – via cash or using a Demand Draft (DD).


Hall Ticket of SET 2018

SET 2017 Hall Ticket will be made available on the official website of SIU. Aspirants will need to log into their accounts and download their admit card. It must be noted that hall tickets will not be sent to personal aspirants by post.

Follow the steps given below to download SET Admit Card:

  • Visit the official link.
  • Take a printout of the admit card and preserve it cautiously.
  • Click on “SET 2017 Hall Ticket Announce”
  • Enter your SET ID and date of birth or password.
  • View and save the hall ticket.

Exam Format of SET 2018

SET exam will have five papers pertaining to various streams. These papers are – General, Law, Engineering, Health Sciences and Design.

In the morning session, Law and Design papers will be organizeed. The aspirant can opt for two papers but they must be in various sessions. And, in the afternoon session, General, Engineering and Health Sciences will be organizeed.

Results of SET 2018

Aspirants will be able to check the SET Results on or after May 20, 2017, on the official website.

The merit list will be prepared in order of the marks scored by the aspirants. The cut-off for SET 2017 will be decided on the basis of several factors, such as difficulty level of the exam, the number of appearing aspirants and the fixed intake for each course.

Counseling of SET 2018

The counseling procedure will start from June 5, 2017, for SET aspirants and from June 12, 2017, for aspirants who have applied on the basis of JEE Mains score. The SET counseling procedure is open to only those aspirants whose name is in the merit list.

In order to participate in the counseling procedure, aspirants must be physically current at the reporting centre. There will be further rounds of selection such as GD and PI. After all, rounds, have been finished, the finally selected aspirants will be allotted seats on the basis of their total score.

Aspirants must carry the following documents in original as well two sets of photocopies of the same:

  • JEE Main Score Card
  • Class X marks sheet and qualifying certificate
  • Class XII marks sheet and qualifying certificate
  • Migration and School Leaving Certificate
  • Caste certificate
  • SET 2017 Hall Ticket

Reservation Policy

SIU provides the provision of reservation for aspirants belonging to certain categories. This is in accordance with the UGC guideline 2006. The details of reservation provideed by all SIU institutes are given below:
