PESSAT 2018  Application Form, Eligibility, Exam Date, Syllabus

PESSAT 2018 will be organized from April 20 - May 15, 2018 for B.Tech course and 1st week of January to July 2018 for other courses. Aspirants who qualify this examination get admission into the different undergraduate and postgraduate courses of PES University. PESSAT (PES Scholastic Aptitude Test) is organized by PES University, Bangalore every year.
  • PESSAT is organized via the online mode. The exam is pen and paper based only on B.Des course.
  • Aspirants will get their PESSAT 2018 hall ticket after the completion of slot booking.
  • The slot booking can be done online.
  • Aspirants must cautiously fill the application form before the last date.
  • PESSAT 2018 Result will also be released in the online mode.
  • PESSAT 2018 is a university level examination. Candidates must check the eligibility criteria before applying for the examination.
  • PESSAT 2018 Application Form is available on the official website of PES University.
  • The period of the exam is 3 hours for B.Tech and 2 hours for all other courses. No negative marking will be there in PESSAT 2018.
  • Applicable aspirants can fill the application form only via the online mode.
  • The merit list will have the name of shortlisted aspirants.

PESSAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants interested in appearing for PESSAT 2018 must ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions. Aspirants are advised to check the eligibility criteria cautiously before proceeding to fill the application form. The eligibility criteria are various for various courses.

Only Indian citizens are applicable to apply for PESSAT 2018. The eligibility criteria for the different courses provided by PES University are as follows:

B.Tech Course

  • Aspirants must have scored an at least of 60% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination.
  • Aspirants must have passed the qualifying examination with Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.
  • Aspirants must have finished their 12th or equivalent examination from a recognised board.

M.Tech Course

  • Aspirants must have finished B.Tech/BE from a recognised university in a relevant discipline.

BBA Course

  • Aspirants must have finished their 12th or equivalent examination from a recognised board.

MBA Course

  • Aspirants must have finished their Bachelor degree from a recognised university in any branch.
  • Appearing aspirants are also applicable to apply.

MCA Course

  • Aspirants must have scored an at least of 50% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination.
  • Aspirants must have finished their Bachelor degree from a recognised university in any branch.
  • Aspirants must have passed the qualifying examination in Computer Science or Mathematics or Computer Programming or Business Mathematics or Business Statistics or Statistics as one of the elective subjects.

B.Arch and BBA LLB Courses

  • Aspirants required to upload their NATA or CLAT scorecard while filling PESSAT 2018 application form.
  • Aspirants must have passed the CLAT examination for getting admission into the BBA LLB program.
  • Aspirants must have passed the NATA examination for getting admission into the B.Arch program.

If aspirants do not satisfy the eligibility conditions for the respective course, they cannot apply for PESSAT 2018.

PESSAT Application Form 2018

Aspirants can fill PESSAT 2018 application form only via the online mode. The application form is available from October 11, 2017 for B.Tech and all other courses in the official website of PES University. The last date for submitting the application form is the 3rd week of April 2018 for B.Tech and July 2018 for other courses. 

Aspirants must be careful while filling the application form as the form will be rejected by the university if there is any error.

The steps to fill and submit PESSAT 2018 application form are as follows:

  • Enter all the details that are asked.
  • Go to the “New Registration” page.
  • Click on the “proceed” button.
  • Visit the official website of PES University, www.pes.edu
  • Select your course. Enter your name, gender, date of birth and email ID.
  • Your registration number will be generated.
  • Select the method of payment and pay the application fee.
  • Upload your passport size photograph.

The application fee for PESSAT 2018 is INR 1050. Aspirants can make the payment via online method (net banking/credit card/debit card) or offline method (demand draft/Challan). The demand draft should be made in favor of “PES University General Fund” that will be payable at Bangalore. Aspirants who decide to make the payment via Challan or Demand Draft required to submit the Challan or Demand Draft at the following address along with the printed application form:

Aspirants must keep in mind that the application fee for PESSAT 2018 is non-refundable.

Slot Booking for PESSAT

The slot booking for PESSAT 2018 will start from April 15, 2018 for B.Tech and January 5, 2018 for other courses. Aspirants required to enter their individual details for booking a slot. Aspirants can book the time and date of examination according to their preference during slot booking. It will be done on a first-come-first-cater basis. Once the slot booking is done, aspirants will not be allowed to make any changes.

Aspirants will be able to download their PESSAT 2018 hall ticket after the completion of slot booking. Aspirants will not be allowed to sit for the examination if they do not carry their hall ticket. Aspirants have to enter their registration number and password for downloading the hall ticket from the official website of PES University.

Exam Center for PESSAT 2018

The exam center for PESSAT 2018 will be mentioned on the hall ticket of aspirants. PESSAT 2018 will be organized by PES University in various exam centers in various states. The allocation of exam center will be on the basis of the preference of aspirants. However, once the exam center is allotted to aspirants, it will not be altered by the University. During filling the application form, aspirants can select the exam center of their choice. There are total 34 exam centers for PESSAT 2018 all across India.

Exam Format for PESSAT 2018

The exam format of PESSAT 2018 is various for various courses. The examination will be organized only in the online mode. There will be no negative marking in PESSAT 2018. In other courses, total 120 questions are asked. It will be pen and paper-based only for B.Des course. The period of PESSAT examination is 3 hours for B.Tech and 2 hours for all other courses. Total of 180 questions are asked in B.Tech.

PESSAT Syllabus 2018

The syllabus of PESSAT 2018 is various for various courses. Aspirants must know the syllabus of the entrance examination so that they can score well. For B.Tech, the syllabus of PESSAT 2018 will be of 11th and 12th level. Aspirants required to study the topics of Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics of 11th and 12th. Aspirants should study from their 11th and 12th textbooks for scoring well in the examination.

For other courses, questions will be asked from Verbal Ability/English Comprehension, Analytical & Logical Reasoning, General Awareness and Quantitative Reasoning. Aspirants can also solve earlier year question papers to score well in PESSAT 2018 examination.

PESSAT Result 2018

The result of PESSAT 2018 will be released in the official website of the university. Aspirants can check their results only via the online mode. The result will be released in the last week of May 2018 for B.Tech. It will be released after one week of the examination for all other courses.

Aspirants have to enter their date of birth and registration number for checking the result. Aspirants must take a printout of the result as it will be required during counseling. The shortlisting of aspirants will be done on the basis of their score and individual interview. The merit list will be prepared by PES University on the basis of the result. The selected aspirants whose names appear in the merit list will be called for counseling. Aspirants who have secured high marks will find their names on the merit list.

Cut Off 

PESSAT 2018 cut off is the at least marks that aspirants required to score in the entrance examination for qualifying for it. The cut off marks depend on different parameters and factors such as the total number of aspirants appeared for the examination, the difficulty level of the examination and the availability of seats. The cut off marks will be announced by PES University after the releasement of the result.

PESSAT Counseling 2018

Aspirants who are shortlisted will be called for PESSAT 2018 counseling. The counseling will be organized by PES University in the offline mode. Selected aspirants can get the information about counseling on the official website of the university. Aspirants can download their PESSAT 2018 counseling call letter from the official website. The officials of PES University will intimate the date, venue and time of counseling to the selected aspirants.

There are two rounds in PESSAT counseling. The documents that are needed during counseling are as follows: Aspirants have to bring their original documents during the time of counseling. The counseling process will start in June 2018 for B.Tech. Aspirants must submit the counseling fee of 500 INR.

Aspirants will be selected on the basis of their PESSAT 2018 score and individual interview. A short interview will be conducted by PES University on the same day of the written examination at the examination center. 60% seats are reserved for PESSAT aspirants for B.Tech program. The remaining 40% seats are filled via KCET examination. PES University will give priority to aspirants who have qualified PESSAT 2018 examination.
