Are you applicable to fill the Application form?

It is essential to check the eligibility criteria for NEET before filing the Application Form. If you do not establish applicable at any stage, you will be disqualified from giving the exam.

  1. Age

At Least Age Limit- The aspirant should be 17 years of age by December 31, 2018.

Maximum Age Limit- The maximum age limit for general category aspirants is 25 years and for reserved categories, it is 30 years.

  1. Nationality

Persons applicable to appear for the exam comprise:

  • Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs)
  • Indian Nationals
  • Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs)
  • Foreign Nationals.
  • Non-Resident Indians (NRIs)
  1. Educational Qualification
  • Students who have passed the class 12 qualifying exam are applicable to appear for the NEET exam. 
  • General- Physically Handicapped Category- 45% marks in qualifying exam.
  • General Category- 50% marks in qualifying exam.
  • OBC/SC/ST Category- 40% marks in qualifying exam.
  • Students who are appearing for the class 12 exam may also apply for the exam.
  • Aspirants must have Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology as their subjects in Class XII.

Paperwork: Documents need for filling the Application Form

Application Procedure

The aspirant can fill their Application Form only on the official website. Let us walk you via the procedure.

Step 1- Registration

  1. Visit the official website www.cbseneet.nic.in and click on the ‘New Registration’ link.
  2. Read the instructions cautiously and click on ‘Apply Online’.
  3. You will be redirected to the Registration page where you will have to fill in your individual details like Name, Parents’ Name, Category, Email ID, Phone No.
  4. Once you’ve filled in all the fields, click on the ‘Submit’ button.
  5. After submitting the registration form, you will be redirected to a new page to create your password and select a security question for your account, in case you forget your password. You will also have to punch in the OTP that will be sent to your mobile number
  6. You will receive a registration number after the successful completion of this procedure which will be used for future logins along with your password.

Step 2- Filling the Application form

  1. Fill in your individual details like Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Nationality.
  2. Choose your medium of Question Paper and three choices of Examination Centers for NEET.
  3. Enter your Academic details, Residential Address, and Details of Parents.
  4. Review all the details to check for any mistakes and once you’re done click on ‘Final Submit’.

Note: Once you click on ‘Final Submit’, you will not be allowed to change any details. Therefore, aspirants are advised to review their application form cautiously.

Step 3- Upload documents

You will be asked to upload a scanned copy of your passport sized photograph and signature.

Rules for uploading photograph and signature

  • The passport-sized photograph should have the aspirant’s name and the date of taking the photograph, which should be after January 1, 2018.

  • The signature should be made with a blue or black pen on a white background.

Step 4- Submit Application Fee

Aspirants must choose their preferred method of payment from the following available options:

  • Net Banking of any bank
  • Debit/Credit Card of any bank
  • E-Wallet
  • UPI App

Follow the instructions given on the website cautiously to pay the application fee.

Aspirants must also check the Application Fee before making the payment.

Note: In addition to examination fee, service/procedure charges will also be paid by the aspirant along with Service Tax, for online fee payment.

After submission of the application fee, the form cannot be withdrawn. Any claims for refund of application fee will not be entertained.

Step 5- Confirmation Page

  • If your application status shows ‘Confirmed’, it means your application has been accepted by the exam authorities.
  • Aspirants are advised to take a printout of the confirmation page as well.
  • Aspirants can take a print out of their application form after this.

NEET 2018 Application Form Correction

Aspirants will get an opportunity to make Corrections in their Application form for NEET. The following fields will be open for a one-time Correction for a few days in March 2018. Aspirants can make the changes by logging into their account on the official website.

Retrieving your NEET 2018 password

Forgot the password for your account? Fret not. These simple steps will help you log into your account and set a new one.

  1. Open the official website and go to the aspirant log in. Click on ‘Forgot Password’.
  2. You will be redirected to the password generation page.
  3. You can reset your password by generating an OTP or by responding the security question you had set during the application procedure.
  4. Fill up the fields and enter your new password.

Common Service Centres/ Facilitation Centers

For NEET, Application Form generation and submission will be an online process. Therefore, for aspirants from rural areas, CBSE will be enlisting the services of Common Service Centres (CSC), Ministry of I.T., Government of India under the Digital India initiative.

More than 2.4 lakh CSCs will be aiding aspirants from rural areas in the filling and submission of the Application Form along with the payment of application fee via E-Wallet. CSCs will also help the participants to download the hall ticket for NEET

Things to Remember

  • Aspirants do not have to send any documents to CBSE. The whole procedure is strictly online.
  • There’s no facility for offline payment of the application fee.
  • If you have changed your category during the Correction of the Application Form, you will have to pay the extra fee, if eligible.
  • If you have made any Corrections on the form, take a print out for future reference.
  • Application Form is expected to be announced in January 2018.
