National Defence Academy Exam Pattern 2018

NDA 2018 is a pen-paper based exam i.e. it will be organizeed in the offline method. Total 270 questions are put forth out of which 120 questions are from Mathematics and 150 questions from General Ability Test. The exam will consist of 2 sections, section 1 comprises questions from Mathematics and section 2 comprises questions from General Ability Test. The total period of NDA 2018 entrance exam will be 2 hours and 30 minutes for each section. The medium of the exam will be English and Hindi only. All the questions in the exam will be objective i.e., Multiple Choice Questions will be asked. The total marks of NDA 2018 entrance test are 900 marks.

NDA 2018 is a national level examination, which is organizeed twice a year, i.e. NDA I and NDA II. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) organizes NDA exam in different cities across the country. NDA 2018 exam is expected to be organizeed in the month of April 2018 and September 2018 (Tentative).

Details of Exam format

NDA 2018 exam will be organizeed in offline method and all the questions will be MCQ type. Other details concerned with exam format from both the sections have been tabulated below: Aspirants will be asked to attempt two sections- Mathematics and General Ability Test. 300 marks are issued to Mathematics section while General Ability section will cover 600 marks with the total time period of 2.30 hours for each section. The exam is held in both English and Hindi language. Negative marking will be done for each inaccurate response.

Marking scheme National Defence Academy 2018

NDA 2018 entrance test consists of two sections- Mathematics and General ability test. A deduction of 1.33 Marks will be there for each wrong response. In this section, there will be total 150 questions, 50 from English and 100 from General Knowledge. Aspirants will be honoured 4 marks for each accurate response in this section. There will be no mark for unresponsive questions. 0.83 Marks will be deducted for each inaccurate response. In Mathematics section, there will be total 120 questions of 300 marks. General ability test will include 600 marks; 200 marks are issued in English and 400 marks in total are issued to General Knowledge. All questions will carry 2.5 marks each, which will only be issued for choosing the accurate response.

Syllabus for NDA 2018 

The syllabus of NDA 2018 Exam has been divided into two parts namely Mathematics and General Ability Test. The General Ability Test part will contain questions from different topics such as General Knowledge (GK), English, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, General Science and Present Events. Most of the questions asked in NDA exam will come from 10+2 level, especially in Mathematics. For preparing General Ability test section aspirants should read the newspaper on daily basis.

Aspirants, who will be shortlisted on the basis of written exam, will be invited for SSB interview which will be organizeed for 4-5 days. Aspirants, who successfully qualifying SSB round, will further call for a medical test and document verification procedure.

In NDA 2018 exam, questions are asked from class 12 Mathematics. These books contain a vast explanation of mathematical concepts. Some of the advisable books for aspirants are mentioned below. Important instructions of NDA 2018

NDA 2018 Admit Cards/Hall Ticket will not be offered by post. Candidates must make sure to take them admit card and carry one ID proof also. Candidates will get an OMR sheet to response all the questions. Candidates will have to collect it through online method only. All participants must report to the NDA 2018 Test centre 30 minutes before the commencement of the examination. The other important instructions pertaining to the exam are as follows:

  • Participants should not fold or mutilate or damage or put any extraneous marking in the response sheet.
  • Aspirants may carry a clipboard, on which, nothing must be written, a good quality H.B. pencil, black or blue ball pen for making answers on the response sheet, eraser, pencil sharpener and a pen containing blue or black ink.
  • Check the test booklet to ensure that there are no unprinted or torn or missing pages or items.
  • No one will be allowed to copy from others in any case.
  • Aspirants will not be allowed to go outside the test hall until the period of the test is over. Once the candidate leaves the test hall, they will not be permitted to re-enter the test hall under any circumstances.
  • Candidates will have to write the serial number of the response sheet and test booklet and series of test booklet allotted to them on the attendance list and sign in the suitable column against their name.
  • Candidates should not misbehave in any attitude or create disorderly scene in the examination hall, any such organize will be severely penalized.
  • Response Sheet and sheet for rough work will be supplied by the Examiner.
