MICAT 2018 Registration, Syllabus, Exam Date, Result

MICA Admission Test (MICAT 2018) is conducted by Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad, for admission to PG Diploma in Management - Communications (PGDM-C). Almost 8000 students register each year to compete against a total of 180 seats.

MICAT is held twice a year (MICAT I and MICAT II). Best of the two scores are considered for final admission. Along with MICAT, it is also compulsory for the aspirant to appear in CAT, XAT or GMAT.

  • MICAT- II Registration is open now. You can register before February 5 at mica.ac.in.
  • MICAT Hall Ticket will be available from February 9 onwards. 
  • The application fee is INR 1965 for all categories.
  • The test includes six sections - Psychometric (P), Verbal ability (VA), Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation (QADI), General awareness (GA), Divergent and Convergent Thinking (DCT), and Descriptive Test (DT). Check  MICAT Syllabus
  • MICAT-II is scheduled for February 17 in online mode.

Eligibility Criteria for MICAT 2018

  • Foreign Nationals/ NRI’s required to have a valid GMAT Score (600+) taken after 2012 and a passport. 
  • Aspirants must have a Bachelor's degree, with the 10+2+3 system, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university or by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  • Students in their final year of graduation are also applicable to apply for the test.
  • They must also have valid scores of any one of the national level management test, namely, CAT, XAT or GMAT to be applicable.

MICAT Registration 2018

Registration for MICAT 2 will conclude on February 5. The application procedure is to be finished online.

How to apply for MICAT 2018?

  1. Visit the official website of MICA
  2. Click on the link ‘MICAT 2018 Registration’
  3. Fill details such as Participant name, mobile number, email address, security code and agree to the terms & conditions
  4. Note down your User Id and Password 
  5. Login as “existing user” and fill the application form
  6. Details in the form comprise Individual details, postal address, education details, experience details, test city, upload a photograph in the requisite pattern & size.
  7. Submit your MICAT application form and pay the application fee
  8. Take a print out of the submitted form and keep it safe for future reference

MICAT Hall Ticket 2018

MICAT 2 hall ticket can be downloaded from Feb 9 onwards. MICAT 2018 Hall Ticket is available in online mode only. The steps to download the hall ticket of MICAT is given below:

  1. Visit the official website of MICAT.
  2. Log-in using registered id and password which was auto-generated during the registration procedure.
  3. Click on the hall ticket link.
  4. Enter your application number and Date of Birth 
  5. MICAT 2018 Hall Ticket will be displayed on the desktop.
  6. Download the Hall Ticket and take its printouts for further use.

Exam Format for MICAT 2018

While MICAT 1 was scheduled for December 17, MICAT 2 will be held on February 17, 2018. Both papers will be held online but have a various paper format. MICAT Exam Format is given below for your reference:

MICAT Marking Scheme 2018

The total marks of the MICAT paper are not declared by MICA. There is no negative marking for the Section 1 and the Paper 1 of Section 2. The Paper 2 and Paper 3 have 25 percent negative marking in case of wrong responses.

MICAT Result 2018

The result of MICAT 1 2018 will be published on January 3, while the result for MICAT 2 will announce on February 26. With MICAT II results, a name of aspirants shortlisted for GE/PI will also be released. Aspirants can download MICAT Scorecard from online method only. 

How to check MICAT Result?

  1. Log on to the official website of MICAT
  2. Enter your MICA ID and Password
  3. Click on Result tab
  4. Enter your Roll Number, Date of Birth and Application number
  5. MICAT Score Card will be displayed on the computer screen
  6. Download it for further use

MICAT 2018 Cutoff

MICA does not declare an official cutoff for PGDMC. Final selection will be accessed upon by calculating the composite score based on 50% of CAT/XAT/GMAT and 50% MICAT score. MICAT cutoff 2018 might range between 59-61. The expected MICAT Cutoff 2018 is given below:

Selection Process of MICAT 2018

The selection procedure of PGDM-C involves three steps:

  • Step 1- A aspirant has to take minimum one of these three exams- CAT (2016), XAT (2017) and GMAT (2015 onwards).
  • Step 3- Based on their performance in the MICA Admission Test (MICAT), aspirants are shortlisted for Group Practice (GE) and Individual Interview (PI). The selection rounds will be held in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata & Mumbai.
  • Step 2- Aspirants will have to appear for the institute’s entrance exam- MICAT. They will be assessed upon Psychometric (P), Verbal ability (VA), Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation (QADI), General awareness (GA), Divergent and Convergent Thinking (DCT), and Descriptive Test (DT).
