KMAT 2018 Exam Date, Eligibility, Application Form

KMAT (Karnataka Management Aptitude Test) is a standardized all India level management entrance test which is organized by KPPGCA (Karnataka Private PG Colleges Association). This exam intents to select aspirants for admission into professional courses such as MBA, PGDM, and MCA.

Aspirants can get admission into more than 169 + well known University-affiliated B-schools in Bangalore and Karnataka. KMAT 2018 will be held all across the country in more than 10 cities and is open to all aspirants from India and Abroad. It is organized annually.

  • KMAT 2018 Results will be declared in the month of June 2018.
  • The hall ticket for the same will be available in the 3rd week of May 2018.
  • The exam will be held in the last week of May 2018.
  • KMAT 2018 Application Form filling procedure will start in the month of April 2018.

KMAT 2018 will be an offline test constituting of 120 MCQs divided into 3 sections of Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension; Quantitative Ability; Logical Reasoning and General Awareness.

  • The total test period is 120 minutes without any sectional time limit.
  • Every accurate response in KMAT 2018 exam will be honored with 4 marks.
  • Aspirants are allowed to switch from one section to other within the overall time limit.
  • A penalty of 1 mark will be imposed for each wrong response. Total scores will be displayed in the scorecard.

Eligibility Criteria for KMAT 2018

Aspirants can seek admissions to postgraduate programmes such as MBA, MCA or PGDM via KMAT 2018. KMAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria is mentioned below:

  1. Age: The at least age need for admissions to post graduate programme via KMAT 2018 is 21 years. There is no specific upper age limit to apply for the course.
  2. Academic Qualification: The academic qualification varies for various programmes. Aspirants should satisfy KMAT 2018 eligibility according to the course they are applying for per the UGC guidelines.

The at least marks requirement for various courses is mentioned below:


Aspirants want admission into MBA courses through KMAT must have Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years period. Master’s degree examination of any recognized education body in Commerce, Management, Arts, Social Sciences, Engineering/ Technology or equivalent, and have secured minimum 50% of marks in the aggregate (45% for SC/ST aspirant).

Aspirants in their final year of bachelor’s degree are also applicable.

  1. MCA

Aspirants want admission into MCA courses through KMAT must have Bachelor's degree with 50% marks. Aspirants with Maths at 10+2 stage or at graduation level.

KMAT Application Form 2018

KMAT 2018 registration procedure will commence in the month of April 2018. KPPGCA organizes the examination in the offline mode. Aspirants have to register themselves online for the exam.

The steps concerned to KMAT 2018 registration are explained below in detail:

Step 1Prepare a Demand Draft of INR 1000 in favor of "KMAT 2018"
  1. DD should be payable at Bangalore
  2. DD can be prepared at any Nationalized Bank.
Step 2Online Registration
  1. After preparing Demand Draft (DD) login to website 
  2. Click on ‘Apply Now’ link and fill in all the details.
Step 3Take Print out of filled application form. Paste a recent Passport Size Photo and Sign in the Signature space offered.
Step 4Keep a photocopy of the Application Form and DD as an acknowledgment.
Step 5Make a Note of Application Number before you post the form.

Application Fee of KMAT 2018

A demand draft of INR 1000 must be drawn from any nationalized bank by aspirants before filling up the online registration form.

The application fee is same for all categories and is non-refundable. The exam fee is non-refundable only in case paid twice for the same course.

Aspirants who seeking to take up both the MBA and the MCA test will have register for each test separately.

KMAT Hall Ticket 2018

All the applicable aspirants will be allocated hall ticket after successful registration. KMAT 2018 Hall Ticket will be available in the month of May 2018. Aspirants can download the hall ticket only from the official website of KMAT. Every participant obligatory to come at the examination center with their hall ticket or else they will not be allowed to appear in the exam.

Guidelines to download the hall ticket is as follows:

  • The profile page will contain link for KMAT 2018 Hall Ticket
  • The aspirant has to login by using Registered Id and password.
  • Open KMAT 2018 Official website
  • Click on the link and download hall ticket.

The hall ticket will contain details such as Aspirants name, sign, exam center details, photo, time and date of the exam, roll number, reporting time, etc. The hall ticket for KMAT 2018 will not be sent by post. Aspirants will have to paste passport size photograph as uploaded during registration in the space offered in the hall ticket.

Exam Format for KMAT 2018

KMAT 2018 exam will be organized in the month of May 2018. Every question will be 4 marks. No restriction to move to and fro within the sections. The exam will be of objective nature. The paper will be divided into 3 sections. The exam will have total 120 multiple choice questions. The negative marking will be 1 mark. There is no sectional time limit in the exam.

Syllabus for KMAT 2018

KMAT 2018 is going to be organized with the moderate level of difficulty. The exam will have MCQs only.

Section wise syllabus for KMAT 2018 is as follows-

Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension:

English language ability would be tested via questions on Grammar, vocabulary, sentence completion, synonyms, antonyms, comprehension of passages etc. Questions to check language skills, understanding the contents of the passages and suitable words, phrases, expressions. This shall comprise the passages with questions based on their contents to test comprehension.

Logical and Abstract Reasoning:

This section measures how quickly and accurately can one think. The section may have questions in sets as well personal ones based on Verbal Reasoning, analogy among others.

Quantitative Ability:

This section will be of matriculation standard. The questions will also be based on Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and parts of mathematics. This shall comprise questions to know how fast and correct you can work with numbers, do numerical calculations, understand different arithmetic problems involving ratio & proportion, percentage, interest, time & speed etc. This test also helps to measure your power of quantitative reasoning, interpretation of tables, common graphs & charts.

KMAT Results 2018

Aspirants can view  KMAT 2018 result via online method only which will be available on the official website, No scorecard will be sent via post or email to any aspirant personally. Aspirants must retail their scorecard cautiously till the admission procedure is over.

Applicable aspirants will be provided seats in the Post Graduate management programs on the basis of their scores in KMAT 2018 exam and their merit status.

KMAT 2018 Cut Off 

The cut off marks will be announced by participating institutes personally. This list will comprise the at least marks to be secured by the aspirants to become applicable for admission. Only those who satisfy the cut off requirements will be scheduled for further admission rounds.

The cut off marks for KMAT 2018 will be affected by the number of seats available, difficulty level of the paper, number of aspirants appearing in the exam and passing it.

Counseling for KMAT 2018

Aspirants who have scored marks equal to or greater than the cut off marks will be applicable to participate in the counseling procedure. Aspirants who wish to participate in the counseling procedure must check the counseling dates on the KMAT 2018 official website.

Those selected for the counseling procedure will get a counseling letter. Original as well as the photocopy of the letter must be brought by the aspirant during the counseling.
