There is no change in JEE Main 2018 Exam Format as of now, however, there is a high possibility of change. This is evident from the Finance Minister’s releasement previous this year that a National Testing Service will be formulated to replace Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in organizing the aptitude test.

JEE Main Exam Format - Paper 1 (B.Tech/ B.E.)

  • Offline Paper- April 8, 2018
  • The exam date for the online paper will be announced soon. Check JEE Main Exam Dates
  • All questions will have equal weight i.e. 4 marks each
  • Engineering paper will have questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • Level of questions- Class 11th and 12th.
  • Paper 1- Admission to Under Graduate engineering courses.

  • Number of Questions – 90 questions with each section comprising of 30 questions each.
  • Exam Period – 3 hours.

  • The paper is scheduled for April 1, 2018.
  • Paper 2 offers admission to Under Graduate architecture courses.

  • Negative Marking- For each inaccurate response, 1/4th mark of the total mark issued will be deducted. For JEE Main Drawing Test, marks will be issued on the basis of aspirant’s drawing skills.

  • NOTE: The entrance exam fee for JEE paper I Offline examination is Rs.1000/- for boys and Rs.500/- for Girls belonging to General and OBC Categories. For SC/ST/PWD categories, the fee for boys is Rs.500/- and for girls is Rs.500/-. In case the candidates apply for the computer based examination then the fee for boys from General and OBC groups are is Rs.500/- and for girls is Rs.250/-. The candidates from SC/ST/PWD categories will have to pay Rs.250/-, common for both girls and boys.
