JEE Main 2018 Counseling and Seat Allocation will typically consist of six rounds. The entire seat allotment and admission procedure would be managed via centralized JEE Main Counseling. JoSAA Counseling is organized for JEE Main and JEE Advanced aspirants. JEE Main Counselling is a clearly centralized online procedure. Registration for counseling is expected to commence in the first week of July. Registration for JEE Main 2018 Seat Allocation is open only for qualified aspirants. The schedule of JEE Main Counseling is as follows:

JEE Main 2018 is scheduled for April 02, 2018 (offline method) and, April 08 and April 09, 2018 (online method) for admission to different engineering colleges and courses all over the country. JEE Main Result and Scorecard is expected to be declared by CBSE on April 27, 2018.

JEE Main Counseling will be organized in the month of July and consist of around six rounds of seat allotment. JoSAA is responsible for allotted seats to 92 participating institutes, which include NITs, IIITs, and other-GFTIs.
Aspirants qualifying JEE Main 2018 must register themselves online and select their preferred college and course. Issuement of seats will be done online based on the participant’s rank, category, availability of seats and other factors. After the seat allotment, the participants will have to report to their allotted institute for document verification and fee payment.

The counseling and seat allocation authority, JoSAA will take into account the following factors before allocating the highest possible seat according to aspirants’ choices:
Aspirants will be informed about Seat Allocation via mail or SMS on their registered email ID and mobile number respectively a few days after Choice Locking. Download the seat allocation letter for future purpose.
Step 4: Seat Acceptance Fee Payment and Verification of the Documents
Note: For all the Open Category aspirants, the seat acceptance fee is INR 45,000, while aspirants belonging to SC/ST/SC-PwD/ST-PwD/GEN-PwD/OBC-NCL-PwD categories will have to pay INR 20,000 as the seat acceptance fee.
Step 5: Reporting to the Issued College
The final step in JEE Main 2018 Counseling is reporting to the assigned institutes with original certificates and documents on the issued date and time slot.
List of Documents Need for Verification
JEE Main Document Verification will be organizeed for all the partcipants issueted seats. Aspirants have to produce all the necessary documents at the time of verification. Any violation of the norms may lead to disqualification of candidature. Verification will be organizeed after each round.
Aspirants must carry both original and multiple attested copies of all the need documents to the reporting center at the time of seat confirmation. Documents in the table below should be produced before officials at the reporting centers.

CSAB NEUT and CSAB SFTI Counsellling would be also organizeed in similar attitude. The counseling would be conductd by Central Seat Issuement Board (CSAB). CSAB NEUT is organizeed for filling up supernumerary seats in North East Region and Union Territories. The counseling for all the qualified aspirants of North East region and Union Territories will commence on July 10, 2018.
CSAB SFTI is organizeed for admitting aspirants in Self Financing Technical Institutes. Seat issuement is strictly based on order of preference filled by the aspirants based on their JEE Main All India Rank (AIR) iin Paper I and Paper II respectively. There are 34 participating institutes in CSAB SFTI.
Ans. No, choice-filling has to be done online before the date specified. All the rounds of seat allocation will be done on these choices. Document verification and seat acceptance will be done soon after the procedure of choice-filling. After that, there is no option of choice filling or reordering.
Ans. An aspirant who has been provided a seat (as per their choices) will have to report in person at an RC for document verification to accept the seat.
Ans. You must not fill-in the courses that you are not interested to pursue it. If you do not accept the seat, you will be out of the seat allocation procedure and hence, will not be allowed to participate in further rounds.
Ans. No, preparatory courses will be issued along with all other courses only. All the qualified aspirants want admission in IITs/NITs/IIITs/Other-GFTIs, must fill-in their choices during the choice filling procedure. Admission to IITs is based on JEE Advanced Score.
Ans. No, if you do not report in person in the respective seat acceptance duration of the round, you will lose the seat and you will be out of the allocation procedure.
Ans. Login to JoSAA portal and file your request online, the request will be procedures in a few days. You can claim your refund online.
NOTE: The entrance exam fee for JEE paper I Offline examination is Rs.1000/- for boys and Rs.500/- for Girls belonging to General and OBC Categories. For SC/ST/PWD categories, the fee for boys is Rs.500/- and for girls is Rs.500/-. In case the candidates apply for the computer based examination then the fee for boys from General and OBC groups are is Rs.500/- and for girls is Rs.250/-. The candidates from SC/ST/PWD categories will have to pay Rs.250/-, common for both girls and boys.
