GPAT 2018 Application Form, Eligibility, Exam Date, Syllabus

GPAT 2018 is scheduled for January 20, 2018. GPAT (Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test) is organized every year by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) for providing admission to M.Pharma program. The at least eligibility to apply for GPAT 2018 is a B.Pharm (Bachelor’s degree holders in Pharmacy) of at least 4 years duration.

  • The hall ticket for GPAT 2018 will be announced on the official website two weeks before the schedule of exam.
  • GPAT Scores are also used for availing scholarships and financial assistance.

GPAT 2018 is a 3-hour entrance examination. The questions will appear on the computer screen. The total marks situated for the exam is 500. Multiple choice questions will be asked in the examination. The question paper will be published only in English.

  • A test is organized as per the guidelines allowed by MHRD every year.

Aspirants can download GPAT Scorecard and Merit List from the official website tentatively after the first week of February-2018. There is no centralized counseling procedure for GPAT and all the successful aspirants required to straight apply for admission to colleges accepting GPAT Scores.

Official Notification for GPAT 2018

AICTE has announced the official notification for GPAT 2018. The short notification has been announced across the all the leading newspapers of the country. GPAT 2018 is scheduled on January 20 with January 21being the reserved day, in case the number of participants increases. GPAT detailed notification would be announced soon on the official website.

Aspirants interested in appearing for GPAT 2018 must know all the dates concerned to the examination so that they can apply for it before the last date. The important exam dates for GPAT 2018 are listed in the table below:

Aspirants must note that the dates mentioned in the table are tentative and can change according to the discretion of the organizing authority. Eligibility Criteria for GPAT 2018

Aspirants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy of at least 4 years duration. All the candidates must meet the eligibility guidelines before applying online. The detailed eligibility criteria for GPAT 2018 is mentioned below:

  • Aspirants who have passed or will be appearing in the lateral entry B.Pharma program can also apply for GPAT 2018.
  • Students in the final year of B.Pharma are also applicable for applying in the examination.
  • Only citizens of India can apply for GPAT 2018.
  • The at least educational qualification that aspirants must have his Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharma) for 4 years.
  • There is no age restriction for appearing in GPAT.

If aspirants satisfy all the eligibility conditions, they should proceed to fill the application form.

GPAT Application Form 2018

The registration window for GPAT 2018 has opened on the official website. GPAT Application Procedure primarily involves three steps. Aspirants can register online for the entrance examination up to the third week of December 2017.

In order to fill GPAT 2018 Application Form, aspirants must have a valid email ID so that they can register themselves at the official website. Aspirants required to cautiously fill all the details that are asked in GPAT 2018 application form. Before registration, aspirants must keep the following willing with them:

  • Email ID
  • Scanned signature
  • Scanned passport size photograph

The three steps of online registration for GPAT 2018 are listed below:

Step 1: Self Registration

Aspirants required to first register themselves on the official website, www.aicte-gpat.in. Before clicking on the submit button, you should cross check the information that you have filled on the registration web page. Aspirants must fill all the need information and click on the submit button. After successful registration, you will receive a login ID and password through email or SMS. This is because you cannot change or accurate the information that you have entered after pressing the submit button.

Step2: Payment of application fee

The application fee for aspirants under general and OBC category is 1400 INR, whereas the application fee for aspirants under SC/ST/PWD category is 700 INR. Aspirants can pay the application fee in two modes.

  • Offline Mode: If aspirants opt to pay the application fee in the offline mode, they can deposit the application fee via Challan by visiting the nearest discipline of SBI.
  • Online Mode: If aspirants opt to pay the application fee in the online mode, they can do it by net banking/credit card/debit card. Once the fee is paid successfully, aspirants will get a confirmation through email or SMS.

Step 3: Submitting the application form

After paying the application fee, aspirants must log in to the official portal by entering their login ID and password. Aspirants should fill all the details in the application form cautiously. They are also advised to verify all the details furnished by them before submitting the application form.

The size of the scanned signature should not be more than 30KB, whereas the size of the scanned passport size photograph should not be more than 60KB. Aspirants must take a printout of the filled application form as it can be required in future.

GPAT Hall Ticket 2018

GPAT 2018 Hall Ticket will be available on the official website in the 2nd week of January 2018. Aspirants who have successfully applied for the examination before the last date can download the hall ticket from the official website. The steps to download GPAT 2018 hall ticket is as follows:

  • Select GPAT 2018 hall ticket from the menu.
  • Download the hall ticket and take a printout of it.
  • Visit the official website for GPAT, www.aicte-gpat.in.
  • Your GPAT 2018 Hall Ticket will appear on your computer screen.
  • Enter your application number.
  • Press the “submit” button.
  • Log in with your user ID and password.

Without hall ticket, aspirants will not be allowed to give the entrance examination. Aspirants must check if all the details mentioned on their GPAT 2018 hall ticket are accurate. The details that will be mentioned on your GPAT 2018 hall ticket is as follows: Aspirants must immediately contact the organizing authority if there is any discrepancy in the hall ticket.

Aspirants are advised to read the instructions for the exam that will be printed on the back of their hall ticket. Aspirants must carry their hall ticket to the exam center on the day of examination along with anyone document that will authenticate their identity, such as Voter ID Card, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, etc.

Exam Center for GPAT 2018

The exam center for GPAT 2018 will be completely mentioned on the hall ticket of aspirants. There are total 58 GPAT 2018 exam centers spread all over India. The organizing authority will not change the exam center once it is allotted to aspirants. Aspirants required to report to the exam center minimum 30 minutes before the exam starts. Aspirants can choose the exam center of their preference while filling the application form.

Exam Format for GPAT 2018

GPAT 2018 will be a computer-based test (CBT). You can find the detailed exam format of GPAT in the table below: Aspirants appearing in GPAT 2018 must know the exam format so that they can prepare accordingly. The examination will not be organized in the offline mode.

If aspirants do not attempt a question, then there will be no negative marking.

GPAT Syllabus

GPAT Result 2018

GPAT 2018 Result will be released on the official website tentatively in the second week of February 2018. After the declaration of results, AICTE will announce GPAT 2018 scorecard. The steps for downloading GPAT 2018 scorecard is as follows:

  • Login by using your user ID and password.
  • Your GPAT 2018 score card will appear on your computer screen. Download the scorecard and take a printout of it as it will be needed during counseling.
  • Click on the link that says “GPAT 2018 scorecard”. You will be redirected to a page where you can download your scorecard.
  • Enter your roll number.
  • Visit the official website.

AICTE will publish the merit list based on the scores of aspirants in GPAT 2018.

GPAT 2018 Cut Off

GPAT 2018 cut off marks is the at least marks that aspirants have to obtain for qualifying in the entrance examination. The cut off marks will be declared during the releasement of results. Aspirants can check the cut off marks to understand if they have qualified in the examination. It will be set by AICTE depending on the number of aspirants who have appeared in the examination and the difficulty level of the examination.

Scholarship/ Financial Assistance Via GPAT 2018

GPAT qualified aspirants can also avail scholarship via AICTE or CSIR for studying further studies and research in the field of pharmacy. GPAT qualified aspirants can subsequently register for NIPER JEE to pursue M.Pharma in NIPER, nation’s premier Pharmacy Institute.

The financial assistance via AICTE can be availed via the institute from where the institute is studying M.Pharma. CSIR’s financial assistance (fellowship) on the other hand is available for studying integrated 5-year M.Pharma-PhD from AcSIR or any other laboratory of CSIR.  The scholarship is tenable for the duration of studying postgraduate program.

These scholarships are also available for GATE qualified aspirants for studying M.E/M.Tech/ Ph.D. The fellowship amount via CSIR is INR 25000. The fellowship is however not available for aspirants who have qualified SRF (Senior Research Fellowship). 

Counseling procedure of GPAT 2018

Aspirants will be called for GPAT 2018 Counseling on the basis of their merit list. Allocation of seats will be on the basis of scores that aspirants have obtained in the entrance examination. Counseling of aspirants will be organized personally by the different AICTE approved institutions. GPAT 2018 Merit List will specify the roll number of aspirants, category, rank, total score, and qualified/non-qualified status.

All the documents mentioned below should be carried at the time of counseling:

  • GPAT 2018 scorecard
  • Transfer certificate
  • GPAT 2018 hall ticket
  • Category certificate (if eligible)
  • Migration certificate
  • Mark sheet and certificate of qualifying examination
  • Passport size photographs

Aspirants required to follow the admission process of institutions that will be allotted to them on the basis of their GPAT 2018 scores. The notification of admission will be published on the official website. AICTE will then send GPAT 2018 Merit List to the respective state governments for allotting seats to qualified aspirants. The participating institutions/colleges of GPAT will then provide admission to aspirants on the basis of their GPAT scores.
