CUCET 2018: Result, Merit List and Counseling

CUCET (Central Universities Common Entrance Test) is a national level test which is organizeed every year in the month of May-June. It is jointly conducted by 9 universities, Rajasthan University is the organizing body of CUCET 2018. Check below some of the important points for CUCET 2018 exam.

  • All those who complete 10+2 exam is applicable to appear for CUCET 2018. 
  • Counseling procedure commences upon the declaration of CUCET Result.
  • Admission to aspirants will be granted subject to course-wise eligibility, decided by respective university.
  • For the added convenience of participants, CUCET 2018 Hall Ticket will be published online.
  • CUCET 2018 exam format consists of two parts, which tests the analytical knowledge and subject knowledge of the student.
  • CUCET 2018 application procedure will likely take place from March 2018 to April 2018 in the online method only. 
  • Students are situated their desired course in the University of their Choice, offers they meet the CUCET eligibility criteria.
  • The Central body, organizing this exam, reserve the rights to cancel a centre in case less than 100 aspirants opt for it.
  • The exam will be held in the month of May 2018.

Students can take CUCET 2018 exam to seek admission to various courses provideed by the 10 participating universities. Central Universities of Punjab, Haryana, Jammu, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kashmir, Kerala, Rajasthan, South Bihar, Tamil Nadu, and Bangalore School of Economics will participate in CUCET 2018 exam. Courses provideed under CUCET 2018 comprise undergraduate, integrated, postgraduate, diploma, and Ph.D programs.

Eligibility Criteria of CUCET 2018 

There are a total of 10 universities participating under CUCET 2018. Each university has various criteria for eligibility for aspirants.

There are mainly three types of courses provideed by CUCET 2018. It is recommended that students go via the specific CUCET eligibility criteria of each university personally for their respective course before applying for CUCET 2018. Aspirants can apply for UG, integrated, PG, and research programs.

General eligibility criteria for courses is given below:

CUCET 2018 Eligibility for PhD Program

  • If one has completed UGC-CSIR JRF, GATE, NBHM or qualified in any other National level Exams then you obligatory not appear for the entrance test but will have to register for CUCET 2018.
  • A master’s degree in any stream with an at least of 55% for general aspirants, 50% for OBC aspirants, and 45% for SC/ST/PWD aspirants is needed.

Application Form CUCET 2018 

CUCET 2018 Application Form will be available in the online method only at the official website of CUCET. However, payment for the same can be made in both online and offline method. The procedure of filling the test form is quite easy.

Here are some of the steps that an aspirant must follow:

  • Make payment after checking all the filled details.
  • Fill in the online application form for CUCET 2018
  • You will receive a confirmation message and mail on your registered mobile number and email address respectively.
  • Upload your photo and signature. Go via the guidelines to upload your signature and photograph before filling the application.
  • You can register for up to three courses in the selected program in each university. An add-on fee may be applied in case you seeking to apply additional (extra) course(s).
  • Fill in your individual details like name, email address, phone number, address, date of birth, and password.
  • Select the level of program – UG, PG, or research
  • Visit the official portal of CUCET 2018 and go to 'Apply'

CUCET 2018 allows aspirants to appear for the exam provisionally subject to the final verification of eligibility criteria.

CUCET 2018 Hall Ticket

CUCET 2018 Hall Ticket will be available online in the 1st week of May 2018. It is important to carry your respective hall ticket when appearing for the exam. 

Download the hall ticket by following the steps mentioned below:

  • Go to the official CUCET website
  • Click on the message “Admit cards for CUCET-2018 has been uploaded, please click here to download”
  • Click submit and download the card.
  • Enter application number, password, and verification code

Admit card is one of the most important documents. Keep it safe until the time your admission procedure is finished.


Exam Centers for Central Universities Common Entrance Test 2018

There are 76 exam centres for CUCET exam in India where students can go and take examinations. They can select CUCET exam centre of their choice. Aspirants will be informed in advance in such a case. In such cases, students are informed in advance so that necessary arrangements can be made. In case less than 100 students register for a test centre then it will automatically be cancelled.

Central Universities Common Entrance Test 2018 Exam Format

CUCET 2018 exam paper consists of two parts. This part has 75 multiple choice questions. Part B covers domain knowledge and can have 2, 3 or 4 sections. This section will have 25 multiple choice questions. Part A has questions based on Analytical skills. 1 mark will get deducted for every wrong response and 3 marks are given for every accurate choice marked. Each wrong response in the paper will result in negative marking.

The main highlights of CUCET 2018 Exam Format are:

  • CUCET 2018 national exam is organizeed by the Central University Rajasthan.
  • For every wrong response, 1 mark will be deducted.
  • Part B: Questions from this part evaluates domain knowledge of aspirants. It may be divided into one, two or three sections.
  • A response would be cancelled if more than one mark is established on the OMR sheet.
  • Aspirants need to mark only one response on their OMR sheets.
  • Total exam period is 2 hours.
  • Part A: It includes questions to check analytical skills, English Language, General Awareness and Mathematical Aptitude of aspirants.
  • For every accurate response, an aspirant bags 3 marks.
  • The total number of questions are 100. Part A has 25 questions and Part B has 75 questions.
  • For certain integrated programs, only one question paper comes with 100 questions.

Central Universities Common Entrance Test 2018 Results

Aspirants can expect CUCET 2018 Results in the month of June 2018. Students can check their result online on the official website of CUCET. Follow the below steps to check and download your exam result.

  • Print your scorecard for future references.
  • Go to the official website of CUCET 2018
  • Click submit
  • Enter details such as registration number, password, and date of birth.
  • Click on ‘Download CUCET Result 2018’ link
  • CUCET Result will be displayed on the screen

The response key of the exam is announced in the month of May. Accurate response key, if any grievances establish, is announced in the fourth week of May.

Counseling for Central Universities Common Entrance Test 2018 

CUCET 2018 Counseling will likely commence in June 2018. This is the final procedure to get admission to their preferred course. Each university has the various number of counseling rounds. Usually, there are up to 2 rounds of counseling. The procedure is held for allocation of the course depending on the student's exam performance and merit.

After the result is declared, applicable aspirants will be intimated for CUCET Counseling session. An aspirant will be situated the seat based on the following factors:

  • Secured rank in CUCET 2018 examination
  • Availability of seat in the preferred course
  • Eligibility criteria for the course in the respective university

At the time of counseling, students obligatory to take their mark sheets or degree with them. Check with your respective university on what all documents to be taken before you appear for the counseling session. Unless an aspirant fulfils the eligibility criteria, admission by CUCET 2018 would not be entitled.
