Bharati Vidyapeeth Undergraduate Management Aptitude Test 2018

BUMAT (Bharati Vidyapeeth Undergraduate Management Aptitude Test) 2018 is a national level entrance exam organizeed every year for admitting candidates into BBA and BCA courses provideed by Bharati Vidyapeeth University and its affiliated institutes. Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, the organizing body of BUMAT, has scheduled this test in the first week of June 2018.

BUMAT 2018 Exam Format consists 200 objective type questions of 1 mark each, negative marking will not be eligible. Period of the exam will be 2 hours and 30 minutes. The method of the exam will be offline (pen-paper based) and medium of language will be English. The question paper will be divided into four sections:

  • Verbal Ability
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • Reading Comprehension
  • Logical Reasoning

BUMAT Application Forms will be filled in the month of February 2018 and will continue till May 2018. Admissions to above-mentioned courses will be offered in 7 institutes across India. The total number of seats available in the BBA program is 1020 and that for BCA is 570. BUMAT provides admission to BBA and BCA courses in 7 institutes across India.

BUMAT 2018 Result has been declared on the official website. Aspirants can check their result by entering their roll number and Date of Birth.

BUMAT 2018 Eligibility

BUMAT 2018 eligibility criteria are as set up by Bharati Vidyapeeth University. Given below are the conditions to appear for BUMAT 2018: Aspirants must ensure that they meet eligibility requirements before applying for the exam.


  • To appear for BUMAT 2018, aspirants must be a citizen of India.

Academic Qualification

  • Those who are appearing in the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent) are also applicable for BUMAT 2018, offered they produce necessary documents to verify the same at the time of admission.
  • Candidate wants admission in BBA/BCA program should have passed HSC (10+2) or equivalent examination from any statutory board in India. The at least marks need to be applicable for the test is 45% for General and OBC (NCL and Non-NCL) category and 40% for SC/ ST category participants.


  • To appear for BUMAT 2018 there is no age limit specified by the organizing body.

Reservation of BUMAT 2018 

The seats in participating institutes of BUMAT 2018 will be filmed entirely on the basis of merit and there will be no caste based reservation. However, a certain number of seats for defence personnel and foreign students will be reserved.

  • 15% seats are reserved under Foreign/NRI/PIO/Institutional Quota Merit Category.
  • One seat over and above the sanctioned intake will be reserved for son/daughter of migrants from Jammu and Kashmir and Defense and Civil personnel engaged in fighting against mistakes in this region. It is compulsory for such aspirants to appear for the BUMAT 2018.

Application Form of BUMAT 2018 

BUMAT 2018 Application forms will be available online from February 2018. Candidates can log on to the website www.bharatividyapeethuniversity.net or www.bvuniversity.edu.in. The portal for applying for BUMAT 2018 will close in the last week of May 2018. The online application form can be filled up using these easy steps:


Participants must create login credentials by registering for the exam. Click on ‘BUMAT 2018 Registration’ and enter necessary individual details like name, date of birth and email ID. A user ID and password generated by BUMAT will be offered to you upon successful registration.

Filling Application Form

Log in using the credentials offered to you by BUMAT. Students will then need to fill up the application form. The need information to be filled in the application form is given below:

Uploading Documents

The next step is to upload scanned images of recent, passport-size photograph and signature of the aspirant. Aspirants must upload the documents as per the specifications are given by the organizing authority.

  • Submit the documents in the specified space and click on ‘proceed’.
  • After submitting the need details, upload the photograph and signatures.
  • Click on ‘browse’ and select the scanned image.

Payment of Application Fee

To clear the application procedure, pay the need application fee using Credit/ Debit card or Net Banking. No other method of payment will be accepted.

  • Click on ‘proceed’.
  • You will be redirected to payment gateway after submitting the application form.
  • Enter details asked such as card number, name on the card, etc.

Print Confirmation Form

After all the above steps are finished, a confirmation form will be generated. Print it out and save it for future reference.

The application forms are also available offline at designated centres as mentioned in the BVU brochure. An application form that is in clear or an application form which is not accompanied by necessary payment will not be considered. The candidate has to ensure that the application has been received by the university from the University office. The fee can be paid in cash or bank draft in any nationalized bank. Clear application form along with payment of entrance fee is to be submitted to CET Office, Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pune 411030 either in person or via Post/Courier. The form sent by mail must be sent by registered post/ speed post or courier.

Application Fee of BUMAT 2018 

Payment of examination fee is an important step in completing BUMAT 2018 Application Procedure. An application form submitted without the payment of entrance fee will be considered in clear and remain unprocedural. The application fee for BUMAT 2018 is INR 1200 for participants of all categories. It should be noted that the entrance test fee is non-refundable.

Application Fee can be paid through online as well as offline mode. It is important to fill the bank challan before submitting application fee via offline mode. Aspirants can pay the fees online via Debit/Credit card and also via Internet Banking. If an aspirant seekings to pay the application fee through offline mode, he/she can do it through cash or bank draft which will be drawn at any nationalized bank or any discipline of Bharati Sahakari Bank Ltd. in favour of ‘The Registrar, Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pune’, payable at Pune. They must refer to the guidelines, terms and conditions for online payment as given on the website.

Hall Ticket of BUMAT 2018 

Admit cards will be made available by May 28, 2018. BUMAT 2018 Hall Ticket will be dispatched to the aspirants by post. The document will have details about a candidate, such as a roll number and test centre allotted along with the clear address. Admit card is an important document for the exam and no candidate will be granted entry without it.

In case aspirants do not receive hall ticket, they must contact CET Office of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pune, a day prior to the test. In that case, the aspirant must bring 2 copies of the photographs uploaded while registering along with the proof of submission of BUMAT 2018 application form.

Exam Centers of BUMAT 2018 

The participants must choose the exam centre preferred by them while filling up the application form. They must select the corresponding code of exam centre as given in the brochure. BUMAT 2018 will be organizeed in cities like New Delhi, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Solapur, Bhopal, Jaipur, Lucknow and many others. Candidates can choose from 13 cities that have been hosting the exam for many years. The address and name of the centre will be given on the hall ticket.

Exam Format of BUMAT 2018 

BUMAT 2018 aims to assess participant’s ability to understand the subject critically and apply prior knowledge to solve the problems. Candidates will have to mark their answers on an OMR sheet. The exam will be organizeed in offline mode. The medium of language will be English and period of the test will be 150 minutes.

The question paper will consist of a total of 200 objective type problems with 4 alternative answers. Aspirants must choose the most suitable option which he feels is the right response. Each accurate answer will fetch 1 mark and there will be no negative marking. The first 3 sections will consist of 60 questions each while the reading comprehension section will have 20 questions. BUMAT 2018 Exam Format is as follows: The question paper of BUMAT 2018 will consist of 4 sections- Numerical Aptitude, Reasoning/ Logical Aptitude, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension.

Syllabus of BUMAT 2018 

Aspirants problem-solving skills, application of knowledge, time management skills and task-orientation is tested in BUMAT 2018. The syllabus for each section is given below: The level of knowledge is class 12th (10+2) or equivalent qualifying exam.

  1. Numerical Aptitude: 60 questions

It will test the candidate’s ability to carry out numerical calculations and work with numbers. Level of the study of Mathematics will be up to 10th class or equivalent. Questions about ratio and proportion, graphs and charts as also data interpretation will be asked.

  1. Reasoning/ Logical Aptitude: 60 questions

This section will test the candidate's ability to read between the lines and to see via the situation without getting baffled. Questions based on series, missing links, figures and abstract reasoning will be asked.

  1. Verbal Ability: 60 questions

It will test the aspirant's knowledge of the English language. Problems pertaining to Synonyms, Antonyms, Vocabulary, Grammar, expressions, phrases and sentence completion will be asked.

  1. Reading Comprehension: 20 questions

This section will assess the aspirant's ability to comprehend passages given and response questions based on it.

Result of BUMAT 2018 

BUMAT 2018 result will be declared around June 15, 2018. Separate merit lists will be prepared for Indian and foreign nationals. Merit list will be declared on the official website of the university and will also be displayed in all the participating institutes.

Candidates can check their results in the following ways:

  • Select your course and enter roll number.
  • The result will be displayed and participants must print out the result for further admission rounds.
  • Log on to www.bvuniversity.edu.in .
  • Search for ‘BUMAT 2018 Result’ option under ‘Admission’ head and click on it.

The combined merit list for all the participating institutes will be declared together. The merit list will contain the names of qualified aspirants rank wise. Separate merit list will be created for the Indian nationals and Foreign/NRI/PIO/ Institutional Quota Merit category. It will contain the combined result of both BBA/ BCA programs. Candidates must choose which program they seek admission into at the time of counseling.

The Bharati Vidyapeeth University officials do not announce the cut-off marks and call the qualified aspirants for counseling based on the merit list.

Counseling of BITSAT 2018 

After the declaration of the merit list, qualified aspirants must appear for the BUMAT 2018 Counseling. The counseling procedure will be organizeed by the respective institutes and will start in the 1st week of July 2018. Candidates will be called for counseling as per their rank in the merit list and will be provideed a seat as per availability of the seat in the particular Institute and course.

Since a combined merit list for both programs, BBA/ BCA will be displayed, the candidates can choose the course they wish to pursue at the time of counseling. Hence, aspirants must regularly visit the website for the details about this procedure. The schedule will be uploaded on the official website. The counseling and on the spot admissions session will be held at the respective institutes.  

The counseling procedure will take place in the following way:

  • If the candidate wishes to accept the seat provideed, he must pay the requisite fees at the time of counseling otherwise his admission will be cancelled and the seat will be provideed to the next applicable aspirant.
  • The counseling session will be held as per the scheduled time and date at the participating institutes.
  • Aspirants will be provideed seats based on merit after scrutiny of their certificates.
  • If a student is unable to report for counseling at the stated date, he may send a representative on his behalf with a duly signed authorization letter and the documents need.

Documents verification is an important element of counseling. The documents need for counseling are:
