Banaras Hindu University Undergraduate Entrance Test 2018

Undergraduate Entrance Test (UET) organizeed by the Banaras Hindu University every year for admission to different undergraduate courses and branch namely: Arts, Commerce, Social Sciences, Commerce, Education, Science, Education, Law, Sanskrit, Agriculture, etc. The exam will be scheduled to be held around the last week of the April 2018 onwards. It is a national level held entrance which is organizeed across several examination centres in the country. The exam date for various courses will be various.

Interested aspirants can start looking for BHU UET 2018 Application Form on their official website from the first week of February 2018 onwards. The application form filling process will continue for round one month.

BHU will be releasing all the details concerned to BHU UET 2018 prior to application form filling process on their official web portal. The exam process will be quiet lengthy as there will be various dates for various courses.

  • Each question contains three marks and is subjected to the negative marking of 1 mark.
  • The questions are of MCQ type which comes with a separate response sheet and question paper.
  • The time allotted for the entrance depends on the course for which a candidate is applying, although the time period does not exceed two hours.
  • There will be separate test papers offered for each course. However, there are certain courses where identical test papers are given for one or more programs.

Eligibility of BHU UET 2018

The eligibility criteria for appearing for BHU UET 2018 entrance are as follows:

  • In such cases of Graduate examination, the total marks will be calculated on the basis of 1800 marks.
  • Aspirants who got admission as regular students to Part I / I-Semester in any of the courses of this University via Entrance Test in the earlier years are not allowed to re-appear in the Entrance Test of the same Course with the same subject-combination unless exclusively granted by the Ordinance of the related Faculty.
  • The Application Forms of those participants who have submitted fake certificates or taken up fake means are liable of rejection.
  • The Distance Education Council of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)or other Open Indian Universities (AIU) aspirants may be conditionally permitted to appear for the Entrance on producing of approval of the courses.
  • Aspirants who are appearing in the Last Year of the Qualifying Test can apply for the Test. In such cases, those aspirants obligatory to produce their original mark sheet of the qualifying exam at the counselling for want admission. 
  •  “Aggregate percentage of marks” will include grace marks given to a candidate. The percentage of marks in the total will be calculated as mentioned in the final mark sheet of the qualifying examination.
  • In case a participant has successfully finished the qualifying Exam where only grades are given, he/she should current  a ‘Certificate of conversion’ from the related Institution mentioning the mode of the conversion of grade point average to percentage of marks
  • Aspirants can apply for courses for which he/she thinks are applicable.
  • Degrees or Certificates recognised by any Indian Universities shall only be considered as equivalent degrees or certificates.

Application Form of BHU UET 2018 

The Application Form will be available via the Entrance exam Portal along with the name of the www.bhuonline.in. The entire process of the application will be done online. The link can also be established on the BHU website. Before visiting the above-mentioned link it is compulsory for all aspirants to possessing the following stuffs:

  • A valid Email Id
  • A scanned signature of 5 cm x 1.5 cm resolution but not more than 100 KB.
  • Debit Card/Credit Card (optional)
  • A scanned photograph of 4.5 cm x 3.5 cm resolution but not more than 100 KB.
  • Aadhar Card (optional)
  • A registered Mobile Number

Application Fee

The application fee can be paid either via Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking or via cash in challan from any designated discipline of HDFC Bank.


Hall Ticket of BHU UET 2018 

BHU UET 2018 ADMIT CARD will be available on the ‘BHU Entrance Test Portal’ www.bhuonline.in approximately one week prior to the date of commencement of the test. Aspirants will be able to download the hall ticket with the registration ID allotted to them at the time of application form filling.  The notifications regarding announce of hall ticket will be sent to through E-mail or SMS alert to aspirants. Thus, the aspirants are advised to offer valid e-mail Id and phone number for communication

If any discrepancy occurs regarding the download of Hall Ticket, aspirant must contact the university authority minimum three days prior to the exam

Exam Format of BHU UET 2018 

The entrance will be an offline pen and paper-based test. All the courses will contain 450 marks except B.Sc and Shastri (Hons). However, the maximum time limit set for the entrance is 2 hours. All the questions will be of MCQ type.  The questions format will be same for all the courses but the number of questions and allocation of time will vary. Besides, the total number of questions for all section will be 150.

Each question has four alternate options and is allotted 3 marks. The un-attempted question will be honoured zero mark and wrong responses are honoured 1 mark each.

Result of BHU UET 2018 

BHU authority will be tentatively declared the results around the first or second week of June 2017. The result can be reached from the official web portal www.bhuonline.in. Furthermore, marks scored by the participants in the entrance will be evaluated on the basis of the

  • Overall merit
  • A merit of the category to which a candidate belongs.

The University has the clear authority to set the at least qualifying marks for various courses and various categories. The Merit list will be prepared on the sum of two: marks obtained in theory and practical tests (optional). The result is considered equivalent to that of the merit list.

BHU UET 2018 Cut off

The Cut off will be determined as soon as BHU UET 2018 result is declared. The admission will be done on the basis of the cut off marks. The cut off will be evaluated on the following factors: At Least qualifying marks and closing rank of the aspirants.


Counseling of BHU UET 2018 

The University will implement computerized counselling procedure for admissions to all the courses for the educational session 2018-19. The counselling procedure will comprise the following steps:

 STEP 1: Online Preference Entry:

 Every aspirant will be called for counselling for admission. They need to fill up an online ‘Preference Entry Form’ which will be available online.

Give your order of liking carefully. If any section is established blank, it will be assumed that aspirant has a lack of interest in that option. Admission to Paid Seats will be finished after the regular fee seats are full. Aspirants will be offered another opportunity of editing the entries thereafter. None of the sections of the online preference form should be left blank.

 STEP 2: Activity on the Counseling day

  • In case the admission is done on a provisional basis, collect the Provisional Admission Letter from the Counselling Centre/ Venue Incharge at 10:00 am on the next Counselling day. The Admission letter will comprise the course.   
  • Access the counselling venue at the given time and date mentioned in the Call letter.
  • Discuss with the teachers available there about the available Honours or Course Combinations, locations and fee structures, availability of hostels etc. In case you seeking to modify your preference you can do so in step 2. The university will allot seats strictly in order of merit in the entrance test.
  • Contact the Counselling Centre or Venue In-charge and mark your attendance by signing the attendance sheet.

 Method of remittance of Admission Fee: After the receipt of  the provisional admission letter from the Counselling Centre the following options  can opt for payment of Admission Fee:  Online payment via credit card/ debit card or Payment of Fee in cash at the Fee Counters

STEP 3: Activity on next Counselling date

  • Aspirants must produce the proof of payment of admission fee to the Counselling In-charge within 04:00 pm (in case the payment is made offline). Failure to produce the proof of payment on the deadline, it will be taken into account that he/she is not interested in the admission.
