Banaras Hindu University Postgraduate Entrance Test (BHU PET) 2018

BHU PET is University Level Post Graduation Entrance Exam organizeed in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. For the academic year, 2018-2019 will be held in the month of May 2018. Banaras Hindu University Postgraduate Entrance Test for 2018 will be organizeed by Banaras Hindu University.

  • Postgraduate Entrance Test will be organizeed from the second week of May 2018 onwards.
  • BHU PET is organizeed to offer admission to General, Professional, Special and Vocational Courses.

Exam Dates of BHU PET 2018 

BHU PET 2018 will be organizeed in the second week of May 2018. The test will be carried out course wise. The online application begins in the first week of February 2018 and the last date to apply is March 2018.

Eligibility of BHU PET 2018 

The at least eligibility requirement for BHU PET 2018 is Bachelor’s Degree in a related subject with minimum 50% aggregate marks.

  • There is no upper age or lower age limit for application.
  • No, at least eligibility marks will be eligible for SC/ST aspirants.
  • For aspirants want admission to M.A course in Language must have studied the related Language at B.A. level and should contribute in the final mark sheet.
  • For OBC and Physically Challenged category, an at least of 45 % marks is a need in the Degree examination.
  • Participants must be Indian National.

  2. Click on “New User” to Register for PET 2018.
  3. Choose an easy to remember a password and click submit.
  4. Click on “Online Application Form”
  5. Fill in all the details in application form.

  7. Choose five Exam Centers from the drop-down menu.
  8. Proceed to Pay the Application fees online.
  9. The application form will be available for download after payment of fees.

Application Fee for BHU PET 2018

BHU PET 2018 Application Fee is categorized into two categories.

  • For SC and ST aspirants, the application for is INR 250 and the additional Subject application fee is INR 100 respectively.
  • BHU PET 2018 Application Fee for General and OBC aspirants is INR 500 and INR 200 for the additional Subject application fee.
  • Participants should procedure additional subject fee in case they are applying for more than one subject.

The application fees can be procedures in two modes:

Using Credit/Debit Card: Credit/Debit card can be used to pay the fees online via the payment gateway that is available on the Entrance Test Portal. Fill the Credit/Debit card number and CVV number and click proceed.

Using Cash payment via Challan: Participants who cannot use credit or debit card can pay the application fee in Cash payment. Select Challan at the time of form filling to download the challan with all the details. Participants should visit any HDFC discipline on working day and deposit the amount to the bank. Challan can be procedures in any HDFC discipline.

Hall Ticket of BHU PET 2018 

BHU PET 2018 Hall Ticket will be available on BHU Entrance Test Portal

  • Email or SMS alert will be sent to the registered email id and mobile number.
  • Due to any technical difficulty, if aspirants are not able to download the hall tickets, the Controller of Examinations should be contacted.
  • Participants should download the Admit card and affix a recent passport size photograph.
  • The hall ticket will be allotted a week prior to the entrance examination.
  • Registration ID allotted at the time of examination will need to download the Admit card.
  • Admit card is compulsory and should be carried to the exam hall on the day of the test.

How to Download BHU PET 2018 Hall Ticket

BHU PET 2018 Hall Tickets will be available for download only for successful submissions of the online applications.

Exam Format of BHU PET 2018 

BHU PET 2018 candidates should observe the exam format before preparing for the test. All Papers will be in English and Hindi except for Sanskrit. The period of the examination will be 120 minutes. The medium of the exam is English and Hindi and Language related to Linguistic subjects. The method of the exam is Offline (pen and paper-based). It will consist of total 120 multiple-choice questions.

The multiple-choice questions for different courses will be based on the related subject of the qualification degree.

For all the courses, the questions will comprise questions to check aspirant’s Proficiency in English language, Analytical Abilities, General Awareness, Logical Quantitative and Aptitude.

Result of Banaras Hindu University Postgraduate Entrance Test 2018 

BHU PET 2018 Result will be released in the first week of June 2018. Sectional marks, overall marks and rank obtained by the participants will be mentioned on the result. The result will be available only on BHU Portal and will not be sent by post.

If there is a tie between any two participants, the qualifying examination marks will be considered as the tie-breaker.

Merit List of BHU PET 2018 

Banaras Hindu University will announce the Merit list after the declaration of result. It will display Roll numbers, Category and Rank of the qualifying aspirants. Participants can check BHU PET 2018 Merit List on the official website. The seat allocation and counseling at BHU will be carried out on the basis of Merit list.

BHU PET Merit rank will be based on Theory and Practical exams both for eligible courses.

Cut Off for BHU PET 2018 

Cut Off marks for BHU PET 2018 will be displayed on the official portal. The cut off marks will be based on the at least qualifying marks released for each course. Category wise cut off will also be published. Closing rank for each course will be determined from the cut off list.

BHU Counseling and Admissions will be carried out on the basis of the official cut off list.

Counseling of Banaras Hindu University Postgraduate Entrance Test 2018 

BHU PET 2018 will be organizeed in three steps:

  1. Online Preference Entry
  2. Activity on the day of Counseling
  3. Activity on Next day of Counseling Date

Selection of aspirants will be done by merit listing. Online Preference Entry should be submitted where the aspirant can select their choice course, location and seat type. After the declaration of Cut Off and Merit List, selected participants will be able to download the ‘Call letter’.

After the entry is recorded, aspirants will be called for Document verification and Payment of Admission Fee.

The selected aspirants will be notified through email and SMS and they will have to attend the counseling session with the need documents.
