XAT 2018 is going to be held on January 7, 2018. The XAT application procedure will start in the last week of August (Tentative). XAT score is accepted by 120 b schools of the country among them XLRI, XIMB and SPJIMR are to name a few. XAT is organized by XLRI Jamshedpur. XAT has organized in pen paper-based method since its inception and XLRI follows the same exam format since then. XAT is divided into two parts basically- the first part consists of three sections Quantitative Ability, English Language & Logical Reasoning and Judgment Making and General Knowledge sections and the second part consists of Essay Writing, which means it is both subjective and objective. Part one is clearly objective having multiple choice questions.

This is the most important and scoring section of XAT. A number of questions asked generally varies from 20 to 25. This section tests the judgment making the ability of aspirants. Questions in judgment making involve a situation like a case let and aspirant is expected to find the solution and also the reason behind that situation. So there is no particular syllabus can be decided by this section. This section requires the logical understanding of various situations.
Syllabus for General knowledge cannot be defined as it is very vast subject. The number of questions asked is 20. These topics comprise- However there are some topics from which questions are asked.
Like General Knowledge, no syllabus can be defined for this section. Essay topics are abstract and aspirants will be given 20 minutes to write on the mentioned topic also there is no word limit mentioned, but an essay of 350-400 words will be more than sufficient. Ans. First of all, there is no defined syllabus for XAT. However, there are some fixed topics from which questions are asked. But some topics are only asked in XAT (Judgment Making, Essay and General Knowledge) and these topics can’t be defined in a specific syllabus. There are some common topics like QA/DI, VA/LR in both CAT and XAT, in which syllabus could be the same.
