Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2018

XLRI Jamshedpur, the organizing body of XAT 2018, has not released any major changes in the paper format this year other than the method of the exam. The test which was organized in the offline method since its inception will now be held in a single session as a computer-based test on January 7, 2018. Rest of XAT Exam Format will be the same as last year. The difficulty level will most likely be on the higher side.

As per the trends of past years, here is what Xavier Aptitude Test 2018 will have in store for you:

  • Judgment Making section is a unique feature of the exam which requires meticulous analysis. It mostly has ethical, management or human resource concerned dilemmas. The past trends have shown that it is quite a tricky section.
  • XAT scoring format is such that marks are deducted for every unattempted question (beyond 12 questions).
  • The total number of questions in XAT is never fixed and has fluctuated from year to year. XAT 2018 can have anywhere between 72- 84 questions.
  • The sectional time limit is not eligible for XAT 2018 but there are sectional cut-offs.
  • For shortlisting for GD & PI round, the scores of only the 1st part (Verbal & Logical Ability, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, and Judgment Making) will be used whereas the scores of both, 1st and 2nd part will be considered for final admission. Check XAT Selection Process
  • Quantitative Ability is usually on the easier side as compared to the other 2 sections. However, some data interpretation sets may be time-consuming.
  • XAT is the only exam which comprises Essay Writing before the shortlisting stage.
