NTSE Uttarakhand 2018: Question Paper

The NTSE Stage I question paper is divided into 3 sections: Language Comprehension Test (LCT), Mental Ability Test (MAT), and Scholastic Ability Test (SAT). Given below are the details of distribution of questions, maximum marks and time allotted.

Each accurate response in the exam carries 1 mark. Also, there is no provision for negative marking in the state level test.

MAT and SAT sections in the NTSE Stage I question paper have multiple choice questions with 4 alternatives. Aspirants have to mark the accurate response to each question on the OMR Sheet.

The LCT section is qualifying in nature and the marks scored in this section are not additive to the aspirants’ total score. LCT is not considered as a decisive factor in the final state-level merit list.

The MAT section evaluates aspirants’ reasoning skills, ability to think and judge independently, spatial orientation etc. Questions in this section are based on analogies, series, format perception, coding-decoding, problem-solving etc.

The SAT section assesses aspirants’ academic knowledge and covers the subjects of Mathematics, Science and Social Sciences of Class IX and X level.

NTSE Uttarakhand Response Key

NTSE response keys with the solutions for Stage I is hosted on the Uttarakhand NTSE official website scert.uk.gov.in after the exam is over.

  • This final response key forms the basis for the NTSE Results. The response key aims to help the aspirants in checking their responses and get an idea of the score they might attain.
  • Aspirants can also challenge the response key, backed by substantial proof. Based on that, a revised set of response key is uploaded on the official website.
  • Aspirants can retrieve their personal OMR sheets hosted on the website and compare the responses which they submitted in the exam with the official response key.

NTSE Uttarakhand 2018: Cut-Off Scores

Cut-Off Score is the at least score that aspirants required to score in the exam, in order to qualify for Stage II exam. The cut-off scores are charted, considering variables like:

  • The difficulty level of examination
  • Regulation of the exam organizing authority
  • Number of Students Attempting the Paper
  • Earlier Year cutoff trends
