Uttar Pradesh Teacher Aptitude Test (UPTET) 2019

Uttar Pradesh Teacher Aptitude Test or UPTET is an annual, state-level eligibility test, organized by Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) for the appointment of Primary and Secondary teachers in Government and different Public schools in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Here, we piece together the details of UPTET 2019 based on retrospective data, for the benefit of aspiring teaching professional.

  • The at least score aspirants required to secure in UPTET 2019 to qualify as a primary/secondary teacher is 60% or 90 out of a total of 150 marks.
  • The test will have two separate papers for the Primary and Secondary Teachers, consisting of 150 objective-type questions each.
  • The Application Fee for UPTET is expected to be INR 400 (INR 200 for SC/ST Aspirants).

Eligibility Criteria for UPTET 2019

Below is the given detail of the eligibility of primary (1st to 5th standards) as well as secondary teachers (6th to 8th standards).

  • UPTET participants should be Indian Citizens.
  • The basic educational requirement for UPTET is a UGC recognised bachelor’s degree (B. Ed, D. Ed, BTC, etc.) with an at least aggregate score of 50% marks in the qualifying exam.
  • Age criteria for both positions are at least 18 years and maximum 35 years (age relaxation for reserved category aspirants as per government norms).

The specific educational qualifications needed for the Primary as well Secondary Teaching positions are listed below:

Primary teachers (1st to 5th standard)

  • Participants in the final year B.EL.ED.
  • Participants should have secured an at least aggregate score of 50% marks in the Intermediate Examination.
  • Participants who have either finished or are pursuing in the 2nd year of BTC/BTC (Urdu) from an institute affiliated to NCTE, or
  • Participants with a Bachelor's Degree, or
  • Participants who have finished or are in the final year of Diploma in Teaching from Aligarh Muslim University, or
  • Participants who are pursuing in the final year of D. Ed (Specialization) from an RCI recognised institute, or

UPTET Secondary Teachers (6th to 8th standards)

  • Participants should have secured an at least aggregate score of 50% marks in the Intermediate Examination.
  • Participants with a bachelor’s or master’s Degree in graduation with an at least aggregate score of 50% marks, or
  • Participants who have either finished or are pursuing in the 2nd year of BTC/L. T/B. Ed from an institute affiliated to NCTE, or
  • Participants who have finished or are in the final year of B.Sc. Ed./ B.EL.ED.
  • Participants who are pursuing in the final year of B. Ed (Specialization) from an RCI recognised institute, or

Important to note:

  • There are no restrictions on the number of attempts an aspirant can make in qualifying UPTET
  • Reservation conditions in UPTET will be eligible as per GOI norms.

UPTET Application Form 2019

UPTET 2019 Application procedure can be finished only in the online method via the official website of UPBEB. The Application Forms are expected to be available from August 2019 onwards. The steps involved in the application procedure are listed below:

  1. Visit the official website of UPBEB www.upbasiceduboard.gov.in and register with clear details as specified in the form.
  2. Participants should mandatorily mention the district from where they seeking to appear for the exam, select photo ID proof, and enter the ID number in the UPTET Application Form.
  3. Upload participant’s recent passport size photograph and specimen signature as per the specifications in the Application form.
  4. Participants want reservation are also need to upload supporting documents to the form.
  5. Pay the requisite Application Fees through online or offline mode.
  6. Review the details entered in the form to ensure it is mistake-free before submitting the same finally.
  7. Upon submission, a system-generated registration number and password will be displayed on-screen.
  8. Participants can log in to the website with the auto-generated login credentials and reach the application form they submitted. It is recommended to obtain prints of the finished Application Form for the records.

Please note that the aspirant can apply for both Primary and Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test by filling two separate UPTET Application Forms.

Note: Aspirants must ensure to carry in person the Photo ID Proof selected in the Application Form at the time of UPTET Exam. Aspirants not carrying the same will not be allowed to appear for the exam.

Application Fee for UPTET 2019

The UPTET 2019 Application fee can be paid in both offline and online modes.

  • Participants can make the application fee payment online via the integrated payment gateway on the official website using either Net Banking or Credit/Debit Cards.
  • For offline Application Fee Payment, participants required to obtain a print of the e-challan from the website and make payment at any State Bank of India discipline. Participants then required to enter the details stamped on the challan to the UPTET online application form on the official website to clear the application procedure.

UPTET Hall Ticket 2019

UPTET 2019 Hall Ticket is expected to be available for download from the official website in the month of October 2019. Participants who have submitted the UPTET 2019 Application Form clear in all respect along with the requisite fees will be allocated the Hall Ticket. The same must be downloaded from the official website. Please note that there are no other means of accessing the document other than downloading from the website.

Details like Participant’s name, Registration Number, Photograph, Date of Birth, Exam Venue, Exam Date, and Timings, etc. will be printed on the Hall Ticket. It is compulsory for the aspirants to carry the Hall Ticket in person to appear for the entrance exam along with a valid Photo ID Proof.

UPTET 2019 Hall Ticket can be downloaded in the following steps:

  1. Visit the official website of UPBEB
  2. Click the link “UPTET 2019 Hall Ticket”.
  3. Enter participants’ login credentials i.e. the registration number and password.
  4. The UPTET Hall Ticket will be displayed on-screen.
  5. Download, save and obtain prints of the document for future use.

Any discrepancy noted on the Hall Ticket should immediately be brought to the notice of the exam organizing body.

Exam Format for UPTET 2019

UPTET Exam format has been the same in the last few years. Objective type multiple - choice questions are asked in a paper-based test to evaluate the teaching aptitude of aspirants.

Syllabus for UPTET 2019

UPBEB completely defines the syllabus for UPTET, the details of which are elaborated below:

  1. Syllabus for UPTET Paper 1 covers Teaching Methodology & Pedagogy, Languages (Hindi & English/Urdu/Sanskrit), Mathematics and Environmental Studies.
  • The paper focuses on the educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to Standards 1st to 5th.
  • NCERT Books for 1st to 5th standards can be referred to for better understanding of the scope of UPTET Paper 1.
  • The Language Section would assess the skills of the aspirants in the medium of instruction while the Mathematics and Environmental Sciences section will test aspirants’ conceptual understanding of the subjects.
  • Aspirants are expected to understand the characteristics and required of diverse learners and exhibit the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator for learning.
  1. The syllabus for UPTET Paper 2 encompasses Child Development, Learning & Pedagogy, Languages (Hindi & English/Urdu/Sanskrit), Mathematics & Science or Social Studies & Social Science.
  • Aspirants can choose between the sections of Mathematics & Science or Social Studies & Social Sciences.
  • The paper focuses on the educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to Standards 6th to 8th.
  • NCERT Books for 6th to 8th standards can be referred to for better understanding of the scope of UPTET Paper 2.

UPTET Result 2019

UPTET 2019 result will be declared tentatively in April 2020 on the official website by UPBEB. UPBEB will also announce the notification for the UPTET result in the major newspapers of Uttar Pradesh. The aspirant can reach their result via personal login into the official website in the following steps:

  1. Visit www.upbasiceduboard.gov.in
  2. Click on the tab ‘UPTET 2019 Result’.
  3. Enter the aspirant’s login credentials i.e. the registration number and password.
  4. The aspirant’s UPTET Result will be displayed on-screen.
  5. Download, save and obtain prints of the document for future use.

Aspirants also have the option of procuring a copy of their UPTET Response Sheet by paying a fee of INR 500 per copy (via a DD in favor of “The Secretary, Examination Controller Officer” payable at Allahabad).

The UPTET 2019 Response Keys are expected to be announced by UPBEB in January 2020. Based on the Response Keys, aspirants can draw an estimate of their expected score in the UPTET Results.

The aspirants required to secure an at least score of 60% in UPTET 2019 to qualify as a primary/secondary teacher (55% in case of reserved category aspirants). Aspirants will be honored the UPTET eligibility certificate, valid for 5 years from the date of issue.

Cut-off for UPTET 2019

The cut-off score for the UPTET merit list will depend on the highest score clocked by aspirants in UPTET 2019, over and above the pre-decided at least qualifying marks. The cut-off score will be listed district wise on separate merit lists.

Apart from the highest score of the present year, the other factors that would be considered in finalizing UPTET 2019 Cut-off score are:

  • Earlier years’ cut-off trend, and finally,
  • The difficulty level of the test
  • Total number of participants,

  4. Download, save and print copies of UPTET 2019 cut-off and merit list for the chosen district.

Selection Procedure of UPTET 2019

  • Aspirants need to secure an at least of 60% in UPTET 2019 (55% for reserved category) to qualify the eligibility test.
  • Successful aspirants will be honored the UPTET Eligibility Certificate valid for 5 years from the date of issue and will be provided teaching positions as per merit in affiliated schools in the State.
