UPES DAT (University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Design Aptitude Test) Result 2018

UPES DAT 2018 Results will be released online only and no correspondence will be sent by organizing authority to aspirants. Results are declared within 1-2 days of successfully organizing examination.

  • Login details need to log into the registered account are e-mail and password
  • Detailed venue information for counseling will be separately communicated to registered aspirants via email.
  • Aspirants can check their respective results by logging into their registered account on the official website of UPES, www.upes.ac.in
  • Results will be in the form of personal scorecard of each aspirant who has appeared for the exam
  • Aspirants can also check their respective result by entering only their application number
  • UPES will then formulate UPES DAT Merit List depending upon the performance in entrance exam as well as interviews and presentation of portfolios.
  • SoDS of UPES will be responsible for declaration of result
  • All aspirants will have to appear for Individual Interview and Presentation of work Portfolio, irrespective of the way in which aspirant has wanted admission.
  • Selected aspirants on the basis of entrance exam will be called by the university to appear for interviews and presentation of portfolio,
  • Exam result will display overall and category wise ranks as well as aggregate and section wise marks

University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Design Aptitude Test (UPES DAT) is an annual exam for students want admission in different undergraduate and post-graduate courses provideed by School of Design Studies (SoDS) at University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES).

How to Check Result of UPES DAT 2018?

UPES DAT 2018 Result will be declared separately for M.Des courses and B.Des/BFA courses, within 1-2 days of successfully organizing the respective examinations. Results will be available on the official website of UPES, www.upes.ac.in.

Steps to check Result:

1. Checking Result For B.Des/BFA

  • Go to the official website of UPES - www.upes.ac.in
  • Go to Admissions, then on Admission Alerts and click on M Des/B Des
  • Click on ‘Click here to view results’
  • Click on B.Des on right-hand side pane under Admission Alerts
  • Click on ‘View Details’ tab under B.Des results released – April/May 2018
UPES DAT
  • Aspirant’s result will open on the webpage
  • Take print out for future reference
  • Enter Application Number and Date of Birth (DOB) in DD/MM/YYYY pattern
  • Download the scorecard

2. Checking Result For M.Des

  • Click on ‘View Details’ tab under M.Des results released
  • Click on M.Des on right-hand side pane under Admission Alerts
  • Click on ‘Click here to view results’
  • Download the scorecard
  • Go to Admissions, then on Admission Alerts and click on M Des/B Des
  • Go to the official website of UPES – www.upes.ac.in
  • Aspirant’s result will open on the webpage
  • Enter Application Number
  • Take print out for future reference

Detail on Scorecard of UPES DAT Result 2018

UPES DAT 2018 Scorecard will contain the following information:

  • Participants Name 
  • Section-wise marks obtained in exam
  • Total marks obtained in the exam
  • Overall merit corresponding to marks obtained
  • Category-wise merit corresponding to marks obtained
  • Participants Roll No. 

Merit List of UPES DAT 2018

Merit List for UPES DAT, both for B.Des/BFA and M.Des courses are announced two times.

  • The second one is the final merit list, which is developed on the basis of consolidated performance both in examination and the subsequent interview and Presentation of portfolio
  • One is subsequent to the declaration of result, where merit is assigned to every aspirant, who has given the exam, on the basis of marks obtained in exam.
  • Second merit list is the conclusive merit list, on the basis of which seats are allotted and admissions are done
  • Merit is calculated depending upon marks obtained in exam as well as performance in interview and portfolio presentation
  • The list is prepared by UPES.

Cut off from UPES DAT 2018

The aspirant needs to obtain qualifying marks in entrance exam to access next level, which is counseling. Qualifying marks are decided by the university after the declaration of results on the basis of:

  • Average score of aspirants in each category
  • Number of Aspirants appearing for exam
  • Average marks obtained by aspirants
  • Number of students in each category
  • Number of seats available
  • Level of complexity of examination

Counseling of UPES DAT 2018

Subsequent to the declaration of result, counseling (interview and portfolio presentation) process will be nearly immediately commenced by UPES.

Counseling for B.Des/BFA

  • Subsequent to qualifying in the entrance exam, aspirants are called for counseling sessions, for which they can register online from given venues, dates and timings.
  • Portfolio requirements for BDes/BFA aspirants –

    1. Aspirants have to carry their hand-drawn sketches/rendering that has been prepared by using pencil, pen, colour markers or any other instrument like charcoal, natural dyes etc.

    2. Drawings can belong to any category of an everyday thing, nature, symbolic designs, experimental art, nature etc.

    3. Aspirants with a knack for photography can enhance their chances of selection by carrying photographs and images clicked by them. Aspirants can also carry samples if they have undertaken any experimentation on Digital media, implying use of 2 dimensional or 3-dimensional digital media, tools and techniques for drawing, sketching and rendering

    4. Aspirants can also showcase their talent via Physical Model or Prototype created using Clay, Plastic, Wood, Card Board etc.

    5. Aspirants can bring any such object or thing, which showcases and expresses their creativity skills

    6. Consideration will be given to certificates of appreciation or participation (affiliated with art and creativity) possessed by aspirants

  • According to the availability, slot will be assigned to aspirant
  • In counseling, aspirant will have to go via individual interview and presentation of work portfolio

Counseling for M.Des

  • Subsequent to qualifying in the entrance exam, aspirants are called for counseling sessions, for which they can register online from given venues, dates and timings.

  • Portfolio requirements for M.Des aspirants –

    1. Aspirants must carry an assortment of drawing, sketching and rendering, which has been done by them, via the use of different sorts of techniques and media, inclusive of colour markers and colour pencils. Every aspirant’s compilation should preferably contain an at least of 10-15 pages

    2. Aspirants can carry any physical model or prototype made by using fabrication or construction work

    3. The aspirant can also carry any form of digital work (software), which means using 2 dimensional or 3-dimensional digital media, tools and techniques for the purpose of drawing, sketching and rendering.
