TNEA 2018 Rank list is prepared by Anna University. The university announces a single rank list for all aspirants. The ranking is done based on three criteria
The total marks taken into consideration for ranking is 200. The rank list is prepared based on the highest marks obtained by the aspirant in the year. The rest is shared by Physics and chemistry. The majority of the marks is contributed by mathematics. Once the cut-off marks are obtained, the marks are then arranged from highest to lowest.
In some cases, the same marks are secured by more than one aspirant, and then the ranking is given by age hierarchy. The number will be arranged in the ascending order and the ranks are allotted on the basis of the number. The rank allotted by the university is final. In cases where the marks and date of birth are the same, then the rank is allotted by random or lot system. The category plays a major role in it as all colleges have a specific percentage allotted to various categories. The aspirants who have secured equal marks will be allotted a random number.
Cut Off for TNEA 2018 will be calculated on the basis of the marks obtained by the aspirant in 10+2 exam. The following subjects are taken into consideration for cut off
The marks obtained in mathematics are divided by 2 and the marks obtained in physics and chemistry is divided by 4. The sum total of all marks is the cut off marks. The formula for TNEA cut off is as follows:
