TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test) Exam Pattern 2018

TANCET 2018 Exam Format will be decided by Anna University. The exam is organizeed for admission into Master of Business Administration, Master of Computer Application, Master of Technology and other post-graduate courses provideed by Anna University and other colleges in Tamil Nadu.

  • The maximum time allowed to attempt the question paper is 2 hours.
  • TANCET 2018 is a pen paper based offline examination.
  • Separate question papers are made for separate courses and they follow various exam format.
  • TANCET 2018 Syllabus analyses the aspirant’s verbal and analytical skills.
  • Only multiple-choice questions are asked in TANCET. Total 100 questions are asked in the paper.
  • Maximum marks that can be obtained by an aspirant are 100. 1 mark is honoured for an accurate answer.
  • There are three kinds of papers- one for MBA course, one for MCA and one for M.Tech/M.E/M.Arch courses.

TANCET is scheduled to be organizeed in the month June. Interested aspirants can fill TANCET 2018 Application Form. Some Universities and Self-Financing Engineering Colleges may also choose to admit students on the basis of marks obtained in the exam.

  • Only Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) are there.

  • TANCET 2018 for MBA courses is divided into four sections.

For Master of Computer Awareness Course

TANCET 2018 is also the entrance test for getting into postgraduate MCA courses in state colleges of Tamil Nadu.

  • There can be some questions from English and Basic Sciences, though it is less probable.
  • There are only multiple choice questions that make up the maximum marks of 100.
  • The paper consists of four various questions namely Quantitative Aptitude, Analytical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and General Computer Awareness.

Marking Scheme for TANCET 2018

There are various papers for various courses in TANCET 2018 but the similar marking scheme is followed in all tests. Let’s have a look at the marking scheme of this exam:

  • TANCET 2018 question paper will be of 100 marks containing 100 multiple choice questions.
  • Questions left unresponded are ignored while checking the OMR. No marks are given for such questions.
  • Each question carries 1 mark and that is honoured for each accurate response.
  • Aspirants lose 1/3 marks for every inaccurate answer.
  • If a student marks more than one option in a single question in TANCET 2018, it is counted as wrong and negative marking is done.

Important Instructions for TANCET Exam Pattern 2018

The following instructions are to be followed by aspirants on the exam day:

  • Writing or marking on the sheet is not allowed.
  • Do not roll or damage the OMR sheet.
  • Use of HB pencil is strictly debarred.
  • Students should make sure that they darken the circles properly.
  • Causing any kind of disturbance during the exam cancels the candidature.
  • Do not forget to put your signature in the given space.
  • Aspirants should use only black/blue ball point pen for filling the OMR sheet.
  • Hand over the OMR to the examiner after the exam is over. You can take the question booklet with you.
