TANCET Exam Pattern 2019: Paper Format

TANCET 2019 or Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test 2019 is a state level entrance exam comprising 3 papers, i.e. for MBA, MCA, and M.Tech/M.E/M.Arch courses. As per TANCET 2019 Exam Format, the question paper poses total 100 objective questions. It is an offline exam to be finished in a period of 2 hours.

Maximum marks that can be obtained by an aspirant are 100. It is a general aptitude test for participants. TANCET 2019 Syllabus analyses the aspirant’s verbal and analytical skills. It comprises questions from Mathematics, Data sufficiency, and General English language. Marking scheme for the same has been mentioned further in the article.

TANCET 2019 exam is scheduled to take place in June 2019. It provides admission to aspirants into MBA, MCA, and M. Arch/ ME/ M. Tech/ M. Plan courses. TANCET scores are accepted by University Departments, University Colleges of Engineering, Regional Centres of Anna University, Government and Government Aided Engineering Colleges, Arts & Science Colleges and Self-financing Colleges (Engineering, Arts & Science Colleges including stand-alone Institutions) in Tamil Nadu.

TANCET Exam Format 2019 Details

TANCET 2019 is common for all aspirants want admission in different MBA programs, MCA or engineering stream post-graduation degrees. There are three question papers for each stream. Detailed TANCET Exam Format has been mentioned further.

For MBA Courses

  • However, the other sections evaluate student’s passage comprehension ability, mathematics and Basic English knowledge.
  • Negative marks are deducted for wrong answers in TANCET 2018 exam.
  • The first section checks the aspirant’s ability to identify data and apply the data to business judgments from given typical business situations.
  • There is a general aptitude test organized by Anna University for MBA courses provided by Tamil Nadu Colleges.
  • Only Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) are there.

TANCET 2019 is a gateway for aspirants want admission into postgraduate MCA courses in state colleges of Tamil Nadu.

  • There are only multiple choice questions that make up the maximum marks of 100.
  • There can be some questions from English and Basic Sciences, though it is less probable.
  • The paper consists of four various sections namely Quantitative Aptitude, Analytical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and General Computer Awareness.
  • There is negative marking in TANCET 2019 exam for MCA courses.

  • The exam includes three parts.
  • Part III should be chosen according to the course the aspirant seekings to pursue.
  • Maximum time allowed for the examination is two hours.
  • Negative marking is valid for inaccurate responses.
  • There are only 100 multiple choice questions.
  • All the questions will be of undergraduate level.
  • Part I and Part II are compulsory for the participants while they have to choose the Part III’s subject at the time of registration.

Marking Scheme of TANCET 2019

There are various papers for various courses in TANCET 2019 but the similar marking scheme is followed in all tests. Aspirants lose 1/3 marks for every inaccurate answer. The question paper will be of 100 marks containing 100 multiple choice questions wherein each question carries 1 mark and the same is honored for each accurate response.

If a student marks more than one option in a single question in TANCET 2018, it is counted as wrong and negative marking is done. The marking scheme for TANCET 2019 will be as follows. No marks are given for such questions. Questions left unresponded are ignored while checking the OMR.

  • Questions determining the ability of data sufficiency for response certain problems using the given data and the knowledge of mathematics are asked.
  • Mathematical problems are from undergraduate and CLASS XII (10+2) level only.
