SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern 2019

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will announce SSC Stenographer 2019 Exam Format. SSC Stenographer 2019 is an all India Entrance Exam and will be organized in 2 stages- Computer Based Test (CBT) and Skill Test.

According to SSC Stenographer Exam Format 2019, the exam will be based on General Awareness, General Intelligence and Reasoning and English Language and Comprehension.

SSC Stenographer is anticipated for appointment to the post of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and Grade ‘D’. SSC will start accepting application online from June 2019 and registration procedure will continue until mid of July 2019.

Points to Remember

  • Separate qualifying marks will be there for SC/ST/OBC/PH/Ex S/General categories that will be set by the commission.
  • Overall performance in the whole exam will contribute to the making of merit and no sectional cut-offs will be there.
  • 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong response.
  • Questions in Paper-I will be of 10th Level and questions in Paper-II & III will be of 10+2 Level.
  • Nature of the skill test will be qualifying.

Exam Format and Marking Scheme for SSC Stenographer 2019

Computer Based Test is of 200 marks and the question paper will contain Multiple Choice questions (MCQs). Only the aspirants securing qualifying marks in CBT will be applicable for the Skill Test. If an aspirant marks a wrong response, there is a provision of negative marking of ¼ marks for the objective question paper of stenography 2019 exam.

Subsequent is the SSC Stenographer 2019 exam format:

1. For Computer Based Test

  • Part III will be in English.
  • Questions in Part I and II will be in both Hindi and English
  • It is divided into three parts in which Part-I and II will be made up of 50 questions each and 100 marks are allotted to Part-III.
  • 2 hours time will be allotted to General aspirants and 2 hours 40 minutes will be allotted to visually handicapped aspirants.
  • ¼ marks will be deducted for every wrong response.
  • CBT contains Multiple Choice Questions of Objective Type.

2. For Skill Test in Stenography

Aspirants will be called for Skill Test if they will qualify the Computer Based Test. There will be some qualifying marks in written examination prescribed by the commission. In addition to this, skill test will be qualifying in nature and qualifying standards will be set for all types of categories.

  • Skill Test will take place on the computer.
  • Skill Test will include of one dictation of 10 minutes in English and Hindi both.
  • For the post of Stenographer Grade C, dictation will be at the speed of 100 w.p.m.
  • For the post of Stenographer Grade D, dictation will be at the speed 80 w.p.m.
