The Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) is a two-tier competitive exam organized by SSC at a national level to appoint aspirants for Lower Division Clerk (LDC) and Data Entry Operator (DEO) posts. Here is a brief overview of SSC CHSL 2019 Tier 1 and Tier 2 exam format.

  • There are total 100 questions of total 200 marks in Tier 1. Each section has 25 questions.
  • Aspirants required to write an essay and a letter. They can opt to write the exam in either in Hindi or in English.
  • The time period for SSC CHSL Tier 1 is 1 hour.  
  • SSC CHSL Tier 2 is a descriptive type paper of 100 marks in ‘Pen and Paper’ mode.
  • Tier 1 of SSC CHSL consists of 4 sections- General Intelligence, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness.

  • There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong response in Tier 1 and there is no negative marking in the tier 2 exam.
  • There is also a Tier III exam that would include Skill Test/ Typing Test of qualifying nature.

Marking Scheme for SSC CHSL 2019

SSC CHSL 2019 stage 1 will have MCQ type of questions and all the questions will carry 1 marks each while stage II is a descriptive type exam. Aspirants can go via marking scheme eligible for SSC CHSL stage I and stage II.

  • Marks for Each Accurate Response- +2 mark
