PU CET Exam Pattern 2018

PUCET 2018 Exam Format consists of subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. PUCET is organizeed in an offline method in Chandigarh.

  • The period of test for per subject is 70 minutes. The total time of examination can be calculated from the combination of subjects the aspirants has chosen.
  • PUCET 2018 test exam will include multiple choice questions.
  • The evaluation will involve negative marking therefore 25% of marks will be deducted for each inaccurate response from the total.
  • The entrance test will be held on first Sunday of June 2018.
  • The evaluation of response sheets involves negative marking scheme hence aspirants should response the questions that they know and are clearly sure of them.
  • The medium of language to attempt the test in English only.
  • There will be 60 multiple choice questions for each subject.
  • The syllabus is as per the CBSE syllabus for 10+1 and 10+2 examination.

Punjab University Common Entrance Test is organizeed to offer admission in different undergraduate courses. PUCET 2018 (U.G.) will be organizeed on June 3, 2018, at Chandigarh. The entrance test is organizeed by Punjab University, Chandigarh. Aspirants who want admission to different B.Sc. courses in different subjects are needed to appear and qualify PUCET.

Exam Format in Detail of PUCET 2018

PUCET 2018 is organizeed by Punjab University, Chandigarh. Aspirants need to qualify the entrance test in order to take admission for different Degree courses in Punjab University. The medium of language for responding is English.

Marking Scheme of PU CET 2018

The nature of questions asked in PU CET is multiple-choice questions. Each question carries 2 marks making the maximum total of 120 marks.
The total number of questions asked in each subject question paper is 60. Aspirants should mark/fill only one choice of the given four choices.

The evaluation scheme employs negative marking scheme. For every inaccurate answer, 0.5 or 25% of marks will be deducted out of the total responses answers. No marks will be allotted or deducted for unresponsive questions.

Instructions of PU CET 2018

OMR (Optical mark recognition) will be given to the aspirants to record their responses. Aspirants should fill the bubble clearly with an answer to each given option.

These are a few guidelines aspirants should follow:

  • Rough work should be done on the back of question paper where a section for rough work is offered.
  • Negative marking is employed in evaluation hence aspirants should attempt the questions only if they are sure about their correctness.
  • Tearing, removing or writing anything else other than the required details such acts should not be performed by the aspirants.
  • Aspirants should darken only one circle which they think or know is the response.
  • Aspirants should handover both the Question and Response booklets to the examiner before leaving the exam hall.
  • Aspirants are strictly debarred from using calculators in the exam hall.
  • The response should be attempted only on Response OMR sheet only.
  • Aspirants should read the rules and norms mentioned in the question and response booklet.
