OJEE Exam Pattern and Syllabus 2018

OJEE (Odisha Joint Entrance Exam) is an offline exam conducted by the Odisha Joint Entrance Board. OJEE 2018 is an entrance test for candidates want admissions into the different 1st-year undergraduate degree, 1st-year postgraduate degree and later entry programs provided by the participating institutes.

OJEE 2018 includes 3 sessions. Each session consists of various tests bearing various subjects and formats. Aspirants must cautiously check the sessions that have the subjects necessary for admission into their particular course.

The 1st session is a 2-hour examination organized in the morning (9 a.m. to 11.00 a.m.). It includes of 120 multiple choice questions and the medium of the examination is English.

The 2nd session is a 1-hour examination organized at noon (12 p.m. to 1 p.m.). The medium of the questions in English. It includes of 60-90 questions, based on the course/subject aspirants are appearing for.

The 3rd session is organized in the afternoon and is divided into 2 slots. Aspirants must appear for the suitable slot that has their particular course concerned subjects.

The 1st slot is a 1 hour (2.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.) examination consisting of 60 MCQs and the 2nd slot is a 2 hour (2.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.) examination consisting of 60-120 MCQs based on the course.

The marking scheme is common to all the sessions of the OJEE 2018.

Every right response is honored with 4 marks and 1 mark is deducted for every wrong response.

Aspirants must thoroughly be aware of the detailed syllabus of the entrance test of the particular course they want admissions for as this helps in planning out a better preparation strategy and perform better at the examination.

OJEE 2018 Session 2

OJEE 2018 Session 3

Session 3 of the OJEE 2018 is divided into 2 slots depending on the courses.

The common features of the OJEE 2018 Session 3 slots are shown below.

  • Every accurate response is honored with 4 marks.
  • The medium on the examination is English.
  • 1 mark is deducted for every wrong answer.

Slot 1:

  • There are a total of 60 multiple choice questions in Slot 1.
  • The period of the examination is 1 hour.

OJEE 2018 Examination Format for PGAT (M.Tech/M.Arch):

For admissions to the PGAT (M.Tech/M.Arch) program, aspirants must appear for 2 hours test.

There are a total of 90 MCQs in this test. 30 MCQs, 20 from Maths and 10 from Logical and Analytical Reasoning, is common to all disciplines of PGAT. The other 60 MCQs are framed from the specialized discipline on the PGAT that aspirant is appearing for.

OJEE 2018 Marking Scheme

  • Though the question paper format (period of the exam, number of subjects/sections and number of questions asked) for the 3 sessions of OJEE 2018 is variously based on the course, the marking scheme is the same throughout.
  • Every accurate response is honored with 4 marks.
  • The OJEE 2018 is an offline (pen and paper) exam.
  • There is negative marking scheme in place and 1 mark is deducted for wrong responses.
  • It is divided into 3 sessions.
  • Based on the course for which admission is being sought, aspirants must attempt the various sessions of OJEE 2018.

SYLLABUS for OJEE 2018

OJEE 2018 is an offline (pen and paper-based) test.

OJEE is an entrance exam taken by students wishing to apply for a wide range of courses.

Different participating institutes, providing multiple courses (both undergraduate and postgraduate programs) base their admissions on the OJEE 2018.

OJEE 2018 incorporates a 3 session exam.

Each Session consists of various subjects and aspirants must know beforehand the sessions that they will be required to attempt in order to complete the entrance test pertaining to their course.

Aspirants required to be aware of the subjects and sections involved in each session of the examination and what each section is designed to test in the aspirants. This will help aspirants to tackle each section with the right approach at the time of preparation.

OJEE 2018 General Instructions:

  1. Examination center gates will be opened half an hour before the scheduled start of the examination. Aspirants will not be allowed to enter the hall once the examination starts.
  2. Aspirants must not leave the examination hall before the examination is over.
  3. Valid Hall Ticket is necessary and entry inside the examination hall will be denied without the Hall Ticket.
  4. Aspirants must get the blue/black ball point pen to the hall for filling the circles in the OMR sheets. Pens will not be offered in the examination hall.
  5. Aspirants are allowed to take the carbon copy (2nd copy) of the OMR after submitting the primary OMR.
  6. Mobile phones or any electronic devices are not allowed inside the examination hall.
  7. The aspirants are not allowed to bring any charts/tables/papers to the examination hall.
  8. Upon receiving the question booklet and response sheets, aspirants must thoroughly inspect every page and report to the organizing authorities immediately, if anything is established to be missing.
  9. Aspirants must neatly write the name and roll number in the question booklet and response sheet in the space offered.
  10. Response sheets without the aspirant’s name or roll number in the requisite fields will not be evaluated.
  11. Aspirants must be careful not to write anything else on the response sheet, especially in the answer marking region.
