NMAT Selection Procedure 2018

NMAT 2018 by GMAC is an entrance exam for admission to MBA-PGDM Programmes for the academic year 2018-2020. Selection Procedure of NMAT involves written test followed by Case Discussion and Individual Discussion. The final merit list is based on NMAT 2018 marks, work experience, Case Discussion, and Individual Interview. The shortlisting aspirants are called for Case Discussion(CD) and Individual Interview(PI). The aspirant is shortlisted on the basis of their NMAT 2018 Score.

NMIMS Management Aptitude Test, NMAT is organized by GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council) yearly. 18 colleges will be accepting NMAT 2018 score for admission for the academic year 2018-2020. NMAT 2018 will be a computer-based examination. NMAT is the national level entrance exam for admission in MBA/PGDM for the upcoming academic year 2018-2020.

NMAT 2018 will be organized in a 75-day long window starting from 1st week of October 2017 to 3rd week of December 2017. the scores of NMAT 2018 will be released around the 2nd week of January 2018. Aspirants scoring at least cutoff as said by the participating colleges will be applicable for the further selection procedure. NMAT 2018 Selection Procedure will comprise two steps.

Selection Procedure for NMAT 2018

NMAT 2018 is a compulsory test for applying to NMIMS University and other participating colleges different management programmes viz

  • MBA
  • MBA Pharmaceutical Management
  • MBA-HR
  • PGDM Bengaluru
  • PGDM Hyderabad

NMAT 2018 Selection procedure will involve two rounds. A final merit list will be made based on the marks scored in these two rounds and work experience. NMAT Cut off is various for different institutions participating. The aspirants who seeking apply for more than one Management programmes or institutions, their selection will be based on their scores, preferences, and availability of seats in the respective programmes.

The NMAT 2018 Selection procedure consists of two stages.

  • First stage โ€“NMAT 2018.
  • Second stage โ€“ case discussion and individual interview.

Based on the NMAT Result and NMAT Cutoff, aspirants will be applicable to take admission to different NMAT participating Institutes like Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Study (NMIMS), Amity, Thapar, BML Munjal, VIT, etc. stages will be organized in Mumbai and Bengaluru (if required).

Computer Based Test for NMAT 2018

Aspirants will have to appear and complete NMAT 2018 to apply for management programmes. Aspirants who have scored more than or equal to at least cut off will be called for the further selection procedure. Every accurate response will be honored 3 marks. The exam is a computer-based. Aspirants can opt for a retake if they are not happy with their first attempt. The top score in all 3 retakes will be considered in the final merit list. It consists of 120 questions multiple-choice questions (MCQ). Only 3 attempts are permitted per year. Aspirants can check their shortlist status by visiting the website. The period of the exam is 120 mins (2 hours). There is no negative marking.

Aspirants shortlisted for NMAT Selection Procedure will be able to download their call letters. They must carry hall ticket and call letter the NMAT 2018 selection procedure. The shortlisted aspirants will have to go via the following procedures. Otherwise, they may miss their chance.

Case Discussion for NMAT 2018

The second stage of NMAT 2018 Selection Procedure is Case Discussion. All the shortlisted aspirants will be divided into a group of 5-10 person. Each group will be asked to discuss a case for 15-20 mins. Some aspirants will speak in the favor and some will speak on the topic.During this stage, an aspirant may be observed and given points for various things like valid reasoning, quick answer to the opponent and the right explanation in favor or against the topic among other things. Based on the performance in Case Discussion, aspirants will be selected for Individual Interview.

Individual Interview for NMAT 2018

This is the last stage of NMAT 2018 Selection Procedure. Aspirants will have to current all the original document of formal education and work experience (if any). The aspirant will have to put up their best manner and response all the questions with confidence in front of the interviewer. The interviewer will start judging you the moment you enter your room The individual Interview is organized to judge aspirantโ€™s knowledge of diverse topics, confidence, ability to counter pressure among other things. The interviewer will ask back to back questions to check the aspirant's pressure handling.

  • Final merit list- The final merit list will be based on the NMAT 2018 score, scores of Case Discussion and Individual Interview, and work experience. Based on this merit list, aspirants will get admission to colleges.
