NMAT 2019 or Narsee Monjee Institute Management Admission Test is a national-level entrance exam organized by NMAC every year. NMAT is accepted as an admission criterion by several top business schools in India like SVKM's Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (Mumbai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad), Xavier University (Bhubaneswar), ICFAI Business School (Hyderabad), and Alliance University (Bangalore), VIT University and others such.

  • Each accurate response carries a score of 3 marks and there is no provision for negative marking.
  • The procedure of application for NMAT 2019 is online. Aspirants required to register themselves at www.nmat.org.in.
  • NMAT 2019 is tentatively scheduled to be held in October- December and Registration for the same will begin in July 2019.
  • Participants not more than 25 years of age and possessing a full-time graduation degree with the at least aggregate score of 50% are applicable to apply for NMAT 2019.
  • NMAT 2019 Result is expected to be declared in January 2020.

NMAT exam includes a 3-step selection procedure, viz. the computer-based test, Case Discussion, and Individual Interview. The final merit list of NMAT is drawn on the basis of participants’ academic performance, work experience, NMAT scores, performance in Case Discussion and Individual Interview, based on which participating institutes shortlist aspirants for admission.

Eligibility Criteria for NMAT 2019

All the candidates for NMAT 2019 must fulfill the basic eligibility norms and the same has been mentioned below. Aspirants not meeting the below-mentioned conditions are liable to be disqualified.

  • Participants should be less than 25 years of age.
  • Aspirants appearing in the final examination of the qualifying exam are also applicable to apply.
  • They must have finished full-time Bachelor’s Degree in any branch from a recognised University.
  • Admission of International aspirants is subject to their visa competence.
  • The at Least aggregate score of 50% in qualifying examination in the 1st attempt is necessary.
  • International aspirants with more than 2 years of post-qualification experience will be preferred.

Participants should make sure that they fully comprehend and satisfy the eligibility criteria of all business schools that he/she is interested to apply prior to registering for NMAT 2019. For the eligibility requirements of various Business schools, participants are advised to check the respective websites for clear details.

NMAT Application Form 2019

Aspirants can fill NMAT Application Form 2019 online on the official website, i.e. www.nmat.org.in from July 2019 until October 2019. The steps involved in the procedure are listed below.

  1. Using an active email ID, register on www.nmat.org.in.
  2. Offer individual details including contact information, academic details, and work experience (if any).
  3. Please note that the participant’s name and DOB entered in the NMAT Application form should match with that in the supporting academic certificates.
  4. Participants can choose up to 5 schools to send their NMAT scores to under the "Schools Preference" section.
  5. Upload participants’ recent passport-size Photograph and specimen signature to the NMAT application form.
  6. Complete the fee payment procedure through the integrated payment gateway.
  7. Upon successful completion of the transaction, the ‘Schedule Exam’ option will be activated in participant’s login.
  8. Select preferred test date and time and download the hall ticket that is generated on-screen

Important points to be considered:

  • Participants are also allowed to reschedule the original test date and time, subject to payment of additional fees for the privilege.
  • Participants are allowed to take NMAT a maximum of 3-times during a year’s testing schedule, subject to payment of requisite fees for each attempt.

Application Fee for NMAT 2019

NMAT 2019 Application Fee is the same for all aspirants, regardless of their reservation status. Payments for Retake and Rescheduling of Exams is accepted only via Credit Card. Payment is accepted via the integrated payment gateway on the official website through Debit/Credit Cards, Net Banking, UPI and Mobile Wallets. Participants should note that their registration fee will be forfeited in instances of multiple registrations, voluntary cancellation of registration/scheduled test, non-scheduling of the test, non-appearance for scheduled test etc.

Exam Scheduling for NMAT 2019

Upon successful completion of registration and application fee payment, aspirants can schedule their tests via the ‘Schedule Exam’ link in the aspirant dashboard on the official website. The participants have the liberty to choose the date, time slot as well as the preferred test location.

However, the allocation is subject to availability of the preferred date/time/location. Non-receipt of the confirmatory email should be reported to the NMAT Helpdesk immediately. Within 24 hours of test scheduling, a confirmatory e-mail specifying the test center details will be received by aspirants. The website provides aspirants the facility to check the availability of seats at the test center on the real-time basis.

NMAT Hall Ticket 2019

Aspirants who successfully schedule their NMAT date and time can download their NMAT 2019 Hall Ticket, tentatively from September 2019 onwards. The Admit card will be available for download from the participant’s log-in.

NMAT 2019 Hall Ticket is a compulsory document that aspirants required to carry in person to appear for the test. It will showcase aspirant’s individual details and as well as exam center details along with the aspirants’ photograph and specimen signature.

Non-receipt of NMAT 2019 Hall Ticket should be immediately reported at the NMAT helpdesk.

NMAT 2019 Hall Ticket can be downloaded by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official website of NMAT, i.e. www.nmat.org.in.
  2. Click on the tab to download NMAT Hall Ticket.
  3. Enter login credentials in the space offered
  4. The NMAT 2019 Hall Ticket will be displayed on-screen.
  5. Check details on the document and obtain prints for further use.

Exam Format for NMAT 2019

NMAT 2019 is a computer-based exam administering a randomly generated test from question bank with one question-at-a-time. It includes three personally-timed sections – Language Skills, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning.

Aspirants can choose which section to response first; however, shuffling between sections is not allowed. There are a total of 120 questions to be finished in 120 minutes. Aspirants must response questions and review the responses in each section within the time allotted.

NMAT Result 2019

Aspirants can reach scaled personal test scores in the aspirant’s dashboard of the official website, within 4-5 weeks of taking NMAT. Percentile scores are uploaded on the website after the entire test schedule is over, in January 2020.

Aspirants will receive information through email on availability of their test scores. The scorecard required to be downloaded from the official website. NMAT scorecard will contain the following details:

  • Section-wise Scaled Score as secured by aspirant
  • A percentile ranking
  • Total Score of Aspirant

Cut Off for NMAT 2019

All NMAT Participating Colleges will be declaring their personal cut-off scores. The Final Percentile Scores and Ranking of NMAT forms the basis of the cut-off scores of the participating Business Schools.

Cut-Off Score refers to the least percentile that needs to be considered for admission. Aspirants who meet the Cut-Off Score of Specific Business Schools and fulfill other eligibility criteria as well will be the provideed admission.

Selection Process for NMAT 2019

Various Business Schools differ in their mode of shortlisting aspirants for admissions, the details of which are mentioned on their respective websites. Participants are advised to browse via the websites of their preferred institutes where they are applying via NMAT for further details on their Admission procedure. NMAT Participating Institutes, in general, will shortlist aspirants on the basis of their NMAT scores and performance in Case Discussion and Individual interview.

  • Case Discussion and Individual Interview are meant to evaluate aspirant’s knowledge of the diverse topics, confidence level, ability to perform under pressure, etc.
  • Most Business Schools organize the Selection Procedure at their campuses, though a few institutes are known take the procedure out-of-campus to major locations, for the convenience of participants.
  • Admission judgment is dependent on aspirant’s academic qualification, work experience (if any), NMAT score, performance in Case discussion and Individual Interview.
  • Case discussion is basically group discussion where the aspirants are asked to discuss a case in a group for 15-20 minutes.
  • Aspirants that meet the cutoff score of the Business School applied for will be invited for the further selection procedure.
  • Shortlisted aspirants from the Case Discussion round proceeds for an individual interview.
