Shortlisted aspirants will be invited for the studio test and individual interviews. The final merit list which will be declared in last week of May 2018 shall be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by aspirants in DAT, studio test and individual interview.
NID 2018 provides admission to qualified candidates in several undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of design. The exemplary aspirant will acquire admittance depending on their accomplishment in the Design Aptitude Test (DAT), Studio Test and Individual Interview.
NID 2018 will be organizeed in two stages for M.Des, B.Des and GDPD- DAT Prelims, comprising of written test. Those who qualify in written test will be called for Studio Test and Individual Test. The result dates for both the stages have been mentioned below:

The results for DAT Prelims for B.Des. The final merit list is generally declared in the last week of May. Based on DAT score, a merit list will be prepared for shortlisted aspirants who will, then, be invited for further rounds of screening called the studio test and individual interviews. and GDPD will be published on the official website roughly around February 2018. The aspirants can follow the below steps to check their results online:
NID 2018 Cut Off will be released soon after the results are declared. The aspirants who score over the cut off will get admission in degree courses in NID Gandhinagar, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and in NID Kurukshetra and Vijayawada for Graduate Diploma Programs in Designs (GDPD). The scores of the last participants in the first merit list will be considered as the cut off for NID 2018. There will be some relaxation in the cut off for categories with reservations, which is as follows:

National Institute of Design generally organizes counseling during the months of June and July providing admissions into four years Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) program. Counseling of NID DAT is held after the three stages of selection procedure are finished, Stage 1- Design Aptitude Test (DAT), Stage 2- Studio Test and Stage 3- Individual Interview. The entitlement to admission will not be guaranteed only on the basis of appearance in the entrance test or being in the rank list.
The results of NID DAT Prelims is generally released in the month of February every year. This is followed by the NID DAT counseling process which is held for selected aspirants on merit basis. Final Merit List of NID DAT will be announced in the same month i.e. fourth week of May 2018. The shortlisted aspirants will need to appear for Mains exam to be organizeed in the month of May 2018.
After online verification of documents, the shortlisted aspirants in rank list will be allotted seats provisionally. To be applicable for the next stage of NID 2018 admission procedure, the qualified aspirants will need to submit their consent online (only). The merit list updation continuously happens during that time on the basis of online consent submitted by the qualified aspirants. The procedure for submitting Online Consent starts somewhere around last week of May 2018 and would last for about a week up to June 2018.
For the purpose of verification, the qualifying aspirants, as per the first Merit List, would need to upload scanned copies of requisite documents. All the relevant documents must be alloted in the name of the qualifying aspirant. The scanned copies of original documents should be strictly in JPEG pattern only.
Uploaded documents will be verified from the information entered in the NID 2018 Application Form and any discrepancy would lead to cancellation of candidature. Below is the list of relevant documents for which scanned copies have to be uploaded by the qualified aspirants for B.Des. and M.Des. Programs (for all categories):
OBC NCL/SC/ST category aspirants have to submit valid category certificates which should be alloted by suitable competent authorities in addition to the above.
The scanned copies of the first and last page of Passport and of Equivalence certificate should be uploaded by the Overseas category aspirants (both B.Des.or M.Des programs), in addition to the ones mentioned.
