NEST Result 2019

National Institute of Science Education and Research is responsible for announcing NEST 2019 Result. The result will be released in the 3rd week of June 2019 by NISER on the official website of the NEST, i.e. www.nestexam.in. Aspirants can check their results by logging into their accounts on the website. NEST Scorecard 2019 is a very important document and must be preserved for future use.

Following are the steps to guide-

  • Fill your Date of Birth and Application Number
  • Download and save it for future use
  • Log onto the official website for National Entrance Screening Test, i.e. www.nestexam.in
  • Click on the tab for Results in the panel.

Aspirants who score equal marks will have to go via the procedure of Normalization which is the comparing of scores. The Counseling procedure is an online procedure and is followed by 2 rounds. Merit list is announced in the last week of June 2019 by NISER. It is generally held in the month of July 2019.

How to Check NEST 2019 Result?

Aspirants who have appeared in NEST 2019 can check their NEST Result 2019 on the official website of National Entrance Screening Test.

Here are the steps to check the results of NEST Exam-

  • Log into your Ids by filling your application number and date of birth
  • Locate the check result tab and click it
  • NEST Result 2019 will be displayed on the screen. Download and save it for future use.
  • Click on the Results option from the panel above
  • Log onto the official website for National Entrance Screening Test, i.e. www.nestexam.in

Aspirants must check all the details in the scorecard are accurate and download it to be produced during the NEST Counseling procedure. NEST 2019 scorecard is announced only in the online method and no personal scorecard will be sent to aspirants under any circumstances.

The scorecard consists of the following details:

Normalization of NEST 2019 Scorecard

The procedure of normalization or tiebreaker is important when there is a problem with 2 aspirants scoring the same marks

If two or more aspirants will score equal marks in NEST 2019 Result, the tiebreaker rule for admissions under it which will be followed is as given below-

  • SMAS for SC/ST/PD participants would be 50% (respective SMAS for general category students)
  • It is compulsory for an aspirant to score equal to or above a total At Least Admissible Score (MAS), to get a merit rank.
  • SMAS for OBC participants would be 90% (respective SMAS for general category students)
  • An average of 20% of the 100 best scores for each section is considered as Section–wise At Least Admissible Score (SMAS).

As the merit list calculation will be done on marks that an aspirant scores in the general section and in best three subject sections, the ‘total’ marks for NEST–2019 becomes 180 (30 + 50 x 3 = 180).

Response Key of NEST 2019

NEST 2019 Response Key is likely to be announced in the 3rd week of June 2019. The Response Key will be announced for all the 4 sections for various subjects. NEST 2019 Response Key will announce by NISER in the online method and the aspirants can download the response key and check their responses.

Here are the steps to guide you in downloading the response key-

  • Match it with your responses and know the accurate and inaccurate answers.
  • Click on the Response option available and choose your subject.
  • Log onto the official website for National Entrance Screening Test.
  • Click on the ‘Results’ section of the panel.

Merit List of NEST 2019

National Institute of Science Education and Research will prepare a merit list based on the cut-off score of NEST 2019. Merit list is announced in the last week of June on the website for National Entrance Screening Test.

Only the aspirants qualifying in NEST 2019 will be allowed to take part in the Counseling process and the seats will be issued according to the aspirant’s rank and preference.

Tie Breaker of Scores

In case two participants score same marks in the examination, the following mode will be followed for breaking the tie.

  • Aspirants with a higher score in the general section will get a better rank.
  • If it still does not resolve the allot, the scores achieved in the other sections will also be compared with the aspirant having a higher score in any of the subject section would get a better rank.
  • If the tie still persists, then it will be broken by considering the marks obtained in class 12th and date of birth in that order, during the time of admission/counseling.

Counseling for NEST 2019

NEST 2019 Counseling will be organized for aspirants who manage to score as per the merit list. Counseling for NEST 2019 will be organized in offline method and has 2 rounds to complete.

Round 1

  • A new and modified merit list is prepared on the basis of original merit list considering points from NISER and CBS
  • Admissions are done strictly on the basis of the Merit List

Round 2

  • Other participating institutes will release the names of waitlisted aspirants on their official website respectively
  • Aspirants are admitted to the seats that are left vacant after the first round of counseling.

Aspirants obligatory to bring the following documents along with the counseling procedure-

  • Transfer Certificate
  • In case, Date of Birth is not mentioned in Class X Certificate, Date of Birth (DOB) Certificate is the need for the same.
  • All mark sheets/grade reports and certificates
  • Domicile certificate.
  • Authority letter/undertaking in the prescribed pattern (Annexure-III of IB), if the participant is incapable of attending the counseling individually.
  • In case the aspirant belongs to SC, ST or non-creamy layer of OBC categories, Original Caste Certificate as per Central Govt. is the need.
  • Original e- Hall Ticket, counseling letter from ICAR should also be current with the aspirant.
  • Four recent and complete passport size colored photographs obligatory to be submitted. They should have aspirants name and date mentioned at the back.
  • Medical Certificate should be presented if the aspirant is Physically Challenged (PC). It should be allotted by Medical Officer of any Government Hospital with the description of the kind and the degree of disability.
  • Leaving Certificate
  • Demand Draft in favor of NISER, payable at Bhubaneswar, or in favor of CBS, payable at Mumbai, wherever aspirants are appearing for NEST 2019 counseling.
  • Character Certificate from School.
  • Original of Class X and XII

NEST Result 2019 FAQs

Ques. Is there any other mode to check NEST 2019 Result?

Ans. No, there isn’t any other mode to check the results. The results are available online on the official website of NEST and no scorecard will be sent to any aspirant in an offline method.

Ques. Where can I get admission after appearing in NEST 2019?

Ans. National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar or

University of Mumbai – Department of Atomic Energy Center for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CBS).

Ques. Do I obligatory to send the hard copies of the application summary and DD to NEST office?

Ans. Yes. Please take a printout of your application summary. Do write your name and application number on the back side of DD before sending them. It is compulsory if only you are paying for DD.

Ques. From where would I get the SB Collect reference number?

Ans. The SB Collect reference number is available on the receipt that is generated after payment (looks like: DUxxxxxxxx, 8 digits after DU).

Ques. Is there a provision for rechecking of Exam?

Ans. No, there is no such service available for any aspirant under any circumstances.
