NEET 2018 Required for Admissions in UG Veterinary Courses

As per the official notification dated February 22, 2018 announced by The Veterinary Council of India on behalf of Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying, and Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, aspirants applying for admissions to B.V.Sc & AH courses via 15% All India Quota seats will have to compulsorily appear for NEET 2018. Aspirants will be provided admissions to these 15% seats in bachelor’s course in Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry for 2018-19 session at recognised veterinary colleges on the basis of merit list allowed by CBSE. These 15% seats will be filled via counselling organized by Veterinary Council of India (VCI).

NEET (UG) 2018 is an All India level entrance exam organized by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Other admissions criteria will remain same as per the “Veterinary Council of India- At Least Standards of Veterinary Education Degree Course (B.V.Sc & AH) Regulations, 2016”. The results and All India ranks are then handed over by CBSE to Directorate General Health Services (DGHS) for Counselling of All India Quota seats (15%). Now, the entrance test will be the compulsory requirement for admission to B.V.Sc & AH.

The notification said: “All those students desirous to take admission to B.V.Sc & AH Degree Course under 15% seats on All India Basis are hereby advised to appear in NEET (UG) 2018 to be organized by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on May 06, 2018.” Check Exam Dates for NEET 2018

NEET 2018 Eligibility Criteria

The necessary eligibility requirements for the course comprise:


The aspirant must have finished 17 years of age on or before December 31 of the year in which the admission is being sought.


  • Aspirants having passed B.Sc with not less than any of the two subjects among Physics, Chemistry and Biology are also applicable to apply.   • He/ She must have passed Higher Secondary Examination or Indian School Certificate Examinations with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as mandatory subjects and studied English at a level not less than core course of English as prescribed by NCERT.
  • In case, aspirants have finished the course not prescribed as 10+2, they will have to undergo a one-year pre-professional training before wanting admission to the veterinary course.

NEET 2018 How to apply?

The application procedure will only be organized online via the following process:

  • Select Aspirants Login link under the Online Services at the home page.
  • Fill the compulsory details and upload following documents.
  • Register with a valid number and email id.
  • Visit the portal of NEET UG.
  • Click on Submit button.
  • Proceed to pay the application fee.
  • Log in with the user ID and password received.
  • Click on New User Registration link at the redirected page.
