Only around a month remaining for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to release the NEET 2018 application form, Aspirants must ensure they are familiar with the NEET attempts and age limit rules. Knowing the maximum attempts and age limit for NEET is important for all Aspirants, especially those who have appeared for NEET in the past and intend to do so again.
An age limit is prescribed for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) exam. Applicants appearing in NEET 2018 or NEET 2019 must be informed of NEET 2018 age limit and NEET 2019 age limit. The age limit is a condition set by CBSE for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) as per recommendations of the Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India. If an applicant satisfies age limit criteria and other conditions such as attempts and educational eligibility criteria, then, they can appear in NEET exam 2018-19.

Department of Health and Family Welfare that responded on 14th December 2017 with the response “The upper age limit for appearing in NEET UG is 25 years from the academic year 2018-19.” only unreserved candidates below the age of 25 and reserved candidates below the age of 30 would be allowed to appear for NEET and that too only a maximum of three times. Those who had already appeared for NEET or AIPMT three times in the past would not be allowed to appear for NEET 2018. After strong protests by student bodies across the country, the CBSE revoked the rule and made NEET 2018 the first attempt for all candidates. After a long legal battle, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of NEET 2018 aspirants and removed the upper age limit as well.

To answer that, MCI or DCI or CBSE or at least one among concerned authorities will have to issue the notice. Applicants are in considering that the SC verdict will be valid for this year and hence even those who are above 25 years are preparing for NEET 2018 and NEET 2019.
As per the existing rule which is expected to apply for NEET 2018 as well, a Aspirants can appear for NEET a maximum of three times. However, the following criteria will be applicable:
From the above two criteria, we can conclude that anybody who fulfills the basic NEET eligibility criteria in terms of Class 12 marks and minimum age can apply for NEET 2018. Every aspirant intending to appear for NEET 2018 has a maximum of two attempts left if they have appeared in NEET 2018 and a maximum of three attempts left if they have not appeared in NEET 2018.
