Salary Allowance via NBCC Appointment

NBCC, a Maharatna status PSU, provides the best industry-wide remuneration to its management trainees in return for their hard work, focus, and sincerity. Refer to the below pay scale approach adopted by NBCC:

  • Those who would successfully clear their training and tests will be confirmed at the E1 level on the ran after post of Senior Project Executive (Civil) with a basic pay in the range of Rs. 16,400-Rs,40,500 that depends on meeting the need standard performance concerned or another criterion.
  • Aspirants successful in completing the interview and appointment process will be recruited to go via training during the probation span of 1 year.

Note: selected and recruited aspirants as Management Trainees will be made to agree to and sign a Surety Bond to ensure that they cater NBCC for minimum 3 years or return Rs. 1 lakh in case they decide to resign before the end of three years of tenure.

How to Apply for NBCC Appointment

Aspirants have to apply for NBCC Appointment separately via an online procedure. The candidates have to fill the application form by following the steps given below: The application forms and notification for the NBCC Appointment via GATE 2018 will be soon available on the official website of GATE and NBCC.

  1. The aspirant has to initially register for GATE 2018 before filling the form for NBCC Appointment before the last date. Then they have to separately register and fill the form for NBCC Appointment available on the official website of NBCC.
  2. Enter authentic and true information- individual, academic and communication details. Verify that the e-mail ID given is accurate and valid.
  3. You also need to upload your passport sized photograph and signature in JPEG pattern. The size of the photograph must be less than 500 Kb and the size of signature must be less than 200 Kb.
  4. You will be then redirected to the fee payment page where you have to remind the fee via online method (Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking)
  5. Post successful payment of application fee, the aspirants receive an application number. Note down the same for further correspondence.

Note: Aspirants are advised to keep checking their mailbox and they must not miss telephone calls as they will be intimated about their interview via these modes after the GATE 2018 Result has been declared and the cutoff for NBCC has been decided.

Application fee

The general category aspirants have to remit an application fee of INR 1000+ service tax and service charge in online method during the application procedure for NBCC Appointment via GATE 2018. The SC/ST category aspirants are exempted from paying the application fee.

The aspirants must keep the bank details or card details willing while making the payment. The fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.

Aspirants are selected for NBCC Appointment via GATE 2018 on the basis of the rank obtained in GATE 2018. The at least rank considered for appointment as a management trainee in NBCC is tabulated below:

NBCC Appointment 2018: Eligibility Criteria

The aspirants must make sure that they satisfy the eligibility criteria set by NBCC before applying for the post provided by it. The candidates can check the eligibility for NBCC appointment below: 

  • The aspirant must have passed or must be appearing in full-time Civil Engineering (Bachelor of Engg (B.E)/Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) from a recognized institute of Government of India with 60% CGPA.
  • The aspirant must not be more than 29 years by the last date of submission of online applications.

NBCC Recruitment Procedure 2018

  • Selection procedure takes into consideration: GATE 2018 scores (70% proportion), Individual Interview and/or Group Discussion (30% proportion), and CGPA and results, and most importantly the document verification and screening process of the shortlisted aspirants.
  • Individual Interview encompasses questions such as “What is your dream job”, “Why do you seeking to join a PSU like NBCC”, “Where do you seeking to take your career in the next 5 years”, “What are your strengths and weaknesses”. Aspirants must familiarize themselves with the status of the company, its projects and be standing in the industry. Exceptional communication skills and English proficiency will give you an edge over others so working on these parameters will take you a long way in your career at NBCC.
  • GATE 2018: those who wish to secure a job at NBCC first have to appear for GATE 2018 as scores from earlier years’ attempts will NOT be considered for present year appointment cycle
  • Group Discussion round mainly revolves around current, socio-economic and technological events- required for sustainable construction, bullet trains in India, women empowerment etc. Aspirants should be well aware of all happenings in the country and must expand their general knowledge to make the first impression the lasting one

NBCC Recruitment FAQ

Ques. Does college CGPA matter much? Is it okay to have poor CGPA but a great GATE score?

Ans.GATE rank and score matter the most but having a good CGPA in college reinstates that the aspirant was serious and consistent throughout his/her technical education which also led to him/her scoring a great GATE score. Thus, there is no compensation for poor CGPA. At Least should not be taken as a benchmark! As per the norms, 60% is the at least aggregate expected from the aspirants.

Ques. Does gap after college education affect candidacy for the appointment?

Ans. If you have been working after completion of college and have secured great GATE 2017 score, then the gap in education will not matter much. Your interview may be swayed towards your earlier job experiences which would be a positive for you.

Ques. I am presently studying the 8th semester of B.Tech (Civil), am I applicable to appear for the appointment while I’m still in last semester of college?

Ans. No, you cannot appear in the appointment if you do not have combined result of all four years and are awaiting this result. You shall not be applicable to appear for the appointment.
