Maharashtra Common Entrance Test 2019 (MAH CET 2019)

MAH CET 2019 or Maharashtra Common Entrance Test is an annual, state-level, computer-based post graduate management entrance test. MAH CET 2019 exam is scheduled to take place in March 2019. It is organized by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra for aspirants want admission to postgraduate programs in management in participating institutes of Maharashtra.

Eligibility Criteria for MAH CET 2019

Interested candidates for the exam must fulfill general eligibility criteria for MAH CET 2019 and the same are mentioned below.

  • A Bachelors’ degree in any branch from a recognised University with an at least aggregate score of 50% (45% for reserved category aspirants).
  • Valid scores of CAT and CMAT will be acceptable for admission, subject to fulfillment of other eligibility conditions.
  • Participants in the final year of qualifying examination are also applicable to apply offered the results for the same are declared before the commencement of the admission procedure for the academic year.
  • As a state level entrance test, DTE specifies several conditions distinguishing between aspirants belonging to the state of Maharashtra, aspirants from rest of India, Linguistic/Religious Minorities, and J&K Migrants.

MAH CET Application Form 2019

The Registration of MAH CET 2019 has to be finished online via the official website. MAH CET Application Form 2019 will be available from January 2019 until February 2019. The steps involved in the Registration for MAH CET 2019 are mentioned below.

  • Offer contact information, individual, educational and work experience and the ID that you will use at the test center.
  • Click on "Submit" button.

MAH CET 2019 Hall Ticket

Participants who register successfully for MAH CET 2019 and submit the Application Form clear in all respects will be allocated the hall ticket about a week before the scheduled exam date. Participants can reach and download their hall tickets from the official website using their login credentials.

The steps involved in downloading the Hall Ticket are:

  1. Visit the official website, i.e. www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in
  2. Click on the ‘MAH CET 2019 Hall Ticket’ tab.
  3. Enter login credentials in space offered.
  4. The hall ticket will be displayed on-screen.
  5. Review the details printed on the Hall Ticket before obtaining prints of the same.

MAH CET 2019 Hall Ticket is a compulsory document without which aspirants will not be allowed to appear for the exam. The Hall Ticket will display the following details: Aspirants are advised to preserve their hall ticket copies until the admission procedure gets over.

  • Aspirant’s Full Name
  • Aspirant’s phone number and address
  • Photograph of the Aspirant
  • Exam date

Any discrepancy in the details printed on the Hall Ticket should be reported immediately the exam coordinator.

Exam Centers for MAH CET 2019

Participants can, during the application procedure, select any three locations, in order of preference, as their choice of exam center. Please note that once selected, the choice of the center cannot be changed. The allotment of exam center is done by DTE on the basis of the aspirant’s preference, though the DTE’s judgment in this regard is final and binding on all.

MAH CET 2019 Exam Format

MAH CET 2019 is a computer-based test comprising multiple-choice questions. The total number of questions that can be expected is 200 and the time period for the same is 2 hours and 30 minutes.

  • The number of questions, difficulty level and the time limit for each section is always same regardless of the when or where the test is organized.
  • Each accurate response will be honored one mark and there is no negative marking for inaccurate responses.
  • Participants will be tested on their verbal ability and reading comprehension skills, quantitative aptitude and logical/abstract reasoning skills.

MAH CET Result 2019

Based on earlier trends, the results for MAH CET 2019 can be expected to be declared within a week from the scheduled test date. After publication of the results, the merit list will be drawn using the standardized equi-percentile method, equating scores of all examinees.

Admission and seat allocation will be done on the basis of merit list. Post-publication of the result, candidates are advised to apply to the participating institutes of their Choice via DTE. The scorecards, as well as merit ranking, will be available to download/reach from the aspirant’s login page on the official website.

Counselling Procedure of MAH CET 2019

The counselling and seat allocation for admission is organized by DTE Maharashtra on the basis of merit ranking via a Centralized Admission Procedure or CAP for admission to nearly 400 B-schools in Maharashtra. CAP is the final admission round for MBA admission to institutes like Bhartiya Vidyapeeth's Institute of Management Studies & Research, Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, K J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & Research etc.

The CAP for MAH CET 2019 is expected to be held in May 2019 and will be organized in 3 rounds which comprise:

  • Seat availability and fulfillment of eligibility conditions
  • Matching of aspirant’s choice of Institute/Program
  • Document and Identity Verification

Depending on the merit rank obtained by an aspirant as well as seat availability, the final allocation takes place. An aspirant must mandatorily carry the scorecard and hall ticket for MAH CET to the counseling venue as specified by the authority.
