JEE Main 2018 CBSE Mandates Aadhaar Number

CBSE has made it compulsory to have an Aadhaar card to apply for the exam. Those who have applied for their Aadhaar but have not received it yet will have to offer Aadhaar Enrolment Id on the application form.  Such aspirants who already have an Aadhaar card will have to enter their aadhaar number in their JEE Main Application Form.

  • The number of attempts for JEE Main is limited to 3. Check JEE Main Eligibility
  • Last year 104 centers were set up by CBSE to facilitate enrolment for Aadhaar cards. Check JEE Main Exam Center
  • Those who have enrolled and are yet to receive their Aadhaar card will use 28 digit enrollment number.
  • Online application procedure for JEE Main 2018 will begin on December 1, 2017.
  • Participants from J&K, Meghalaya, and Assam are, however, exempted from the requirement of an Aadhaar number.

Important Guidelines for Aadhaar Requirement

Aspirants who are planning to apply for JEE Main should go via the detailed guidelines allowed by CBSE for Aadhaar requirement. Some of the important guidelines are mentioned below.

  1. Aadhaar Numbers will facilitate verification of aspirants’ details.
  2. Aadhaar number, name, date of birth and gender must be entered at the time of filling JEE Main Application Form.
  3. Aspirants without Aadhaar number required to enroll at any Aadhaar enrollment center.

  1. CBSE is expected to set up different facilitation centers this year as well for Aadhaar enrollment.
  2. Those who have enrolled for Aadhaar and have not received the number yet can apply for JEE Main with the help of Aadhaar enrollment ID.
  3. The provision of Aadhaar is not eligible for aspirants from the states of J&K, Assam, and Meghalaya. Such participants will produce passport number, ration number, bank account number, or any other valid Govt. identity number.

The frequently asked questions (FAQs) of JEE Main 2018 concerned to Aadhaar have been placed here to ensure that aspirants can quickly get responses to their queries.

Ques. The aspirant who has recently submitted the request for updating in Aadhaar details (including biometric updation) and unable to apply for the updated Aadhaar Card Details.

Ans. Such Aspirants have to apply for JEE Main by entering 14 digits Aadhaar Enrolment ID/UR No. (Including slash) printed on the slip allowed by aadhaar center after submitting updation request.

Ques. The date of birth is not fully or incorrectly mentioned in Aadhaar card or only birth year is mentioned.

Ans. In such cases, aspirants must submit a correction request at Aadhaar center and then apply for JEE Main by entering 14 digits Aadhaar Enrolment ID/UR No. printed on the slip allowed by aadhaar center after submitting updation request. 

Ques. The name of the aspirant in Aadhaar is not exactly similar or not in the same format as in school records.

Ans. Such aspirants should submit a correction request at Aadhaar center and apply with the 14 digits Aadhaar Enrolment ID/UR No. Or, allowed by aadhaar center after submitting updation request.

Fill the application form of JEE Main 2018 with old Aadhaar details and thereafter submit a correction request at Aadhaar center. The updated details in Aadhaar may be corrected in JEE Main application form at a later stage by the procedure which will be notified in due course of time.

Ques. The name of father/ mother doesn’t match those mentioned in school records. The address mentioned in Aadhaar has been changed due to transfer or some other reason.

Ans. These particular are not being matched with Aadhaar data so the aspirants should correctly fill these particulars as per school records. The present/permanent address may also be filled accordingly since CBSE do not send any communication to the aspirants’ address.

Ques. How do aspirants of Assam/J&K/Meghalaya who have no Aadhaar Card apply for JEE Main 2018?

Ans. Aspirants who have passed or are appearing in 10+2 from the states of J&K, Assam & Meghalaya required entering the passport number, ration card number, bank account number or any other valid Government identity number. It must be noted that these aspirants will be able to an exam center in their respective states only.
