Indian Maritime University organizes an annual, national level entrance exam, IMU Common Entrance Test (IMU CET) for admission to different undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The entrance exam grants students’ admission to courses provideed by its five campuses (Cochin, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Vishakhapatnam). The exam will be held in the last week of May 2018 (tentative).
IMU CET 2018 Application Form will be available from the last week of March 2018 and the procedure will continue till the first week of May 2018 (tentatively). Aspirants will have to visit the IMU CET website to fill out the application form.

Aspirants required to apply for IMU CET 2018 via online method only. IMU CET 2018 will allow students to appear for the entrance exam for the following courses: Aspirants must note that no method of offline application would be entertained or is valid for IMU CET.

Aspirants must note that they can make changes to the application form as many times as they seeking before submitting it and paying the application fee. No changes will be allowed once the aspirant has submitted his / her application form.
Admit cards for IMU CET 2018 exam would be published on the official website from the 2nd week of May 2018 onwards. Aspirants will be able to download their hall ticket as soon as they are published by the official exam organizing body. Aspirants will have to log in to the official Indian Maritime University website using their application or registration number and password in order to download their hall tickets. Aspirants are advised to take multiple copies of their IMU CET 2018 hall ticket and keep them safe. They will have to carry the hall ticket with them at every stage of the admission procedure. Aspirants would be allowed to take IMU CET 2018 exam at the centre of their choice. They have to choose their preferred exam centre while filling up the application form. The exam can be taken at following centres:
IMU CET 2018 exam is organizeed in online method only. There would be 200 MCQ type questions that would be asked from areas like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, GK, English, and Aptitude.

Aspirants must note that for MBA, questions based on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics will not be asked but questions based on aptitude and general knowledge will be given stress on.
The syllabus of IMU CET 2018 exam would be similar to the Class XI and Class XII syllabus of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, GK, English, and aptitude of CBSE/ ISC/ State Boards. Aspirants can refer to the books that are prescribed for their Class XI and XII academic curriculum or can take reference from the books for other national levels entrance exam like JEE Main, JEE Advanced and BITSAT etc. for preparation of IMU CET 2018.
For General Knowledge and aptitude portion in MBA and other courses, aspirants can refer books Like Lucent General Knowledge and RS Aggarwal quantitative aptitude respectively. For MBA, aspirants should stress on general knowledge and present affairs concerned to economics and business.

IMU CET 2018 Result will be declared on the official Indian Maritime University website www.imu.ac.in. Aspirants are advised to download this scorecard and print it out for all future references. The results will be available for download in the pdf pattern only. The aspirant will have to enter his / her registration number to check the results. The tentative date for releasement of IMU CET 2018 results is the last week of May 2018.
Steps to download the scorecard for IMU CET 2018:
The aspirants who will be shortlisted (either in 1st or 2nd list) would be called for counseling at the five campuses of IMU. Seat allocation would be done on the basis of aspirant’s performance in the CET exam plus his suitability based on physical, medical and other concerned standards. IMU requires applicable aspirants to current physical fitness and eyesight fitness certificates to be able to sit for the online counseling. Counseling would be done in online method only and aspirants would not need to current themselves for the counseling at some centres. Indian Maritime University can prohibit an aspirant from sitting for the online counseling if they find the aspirant deemed unfit for the same.
Aspirants will need to pay a free of ₹ 10,000 to Indian Maritime Institute as counseling fees. Aspirants must note that this fee is non-refundable irrespective of the aspirant’s admission status.
15% of seats are reserved for Indian Nationals belonging to applicable aspirants from scheduled castes, 7.5% are reserved for applicable aspirants from scheduled tribes and 27%seats are reserved for applicable aspirants from other backward classes. For aspirants from scheduled castes and scheduled tribes, a relaxation of 5% is allowed on the marks.
Aspirants must carry the following documents with them for verification purpose during the counselling round. Aspirants are advised to carry minimum two photocopies of each document for a hassle-free counselling procedure.
