Indian Engineering Services or IES, is organized by Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) each year. IES Exam is held to appoint aspirants to different posts in the core engineering fields- Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electrical & Telecommunication Engineering.
IES 2018 is scheduled for January 07, 2018 (Prelims) and July 01, 2018 (Mains). Aspirants have to complete a two-tier selection procedure- Written Test and Individuality Test, to be able to complete IES Exam. The Government of India appoints the civil servants and officials on the basis of merit ranking secured by aspirants appeared in the Engineering Services Examination.
UPSC notification for IES Application Form filling procedure has been announced at www.upsc.gov.in. Read on to know about IES 2018 eligibility, registration procedure, important dates, etc. Aspirants can register for it from September 27, 2017 until October 23, 2017.

An aspirant applying for UPSC IES must ensure that he duly fulfills IES Eligibility which is given below. Failure to comply with these criteria may result in cancellation of candidature.
ESE Registrations 2018 shall be done online at www.upsc online.nic.in. The participants are advised to submit the only single application. All aspirants, whether already in Government Service, or in Government owned industrial undertakings or other similar organizations or in private employment, should apply online directly to the Commission.
Persons, already in Government service whether in a permanent or temporary capacity or as work‐charged employees other than casual or daily rated employees or those serving under public enterprises are, however, need to inform their Head of Office/Department that they have applied for the Examination. The last date to apply for the engineering examination is October 23, 2017.
Post successful registration, UPSC will announce e-Admission Certificate, more commonly known as IES Hall Ticket to each aspirant. The document should be supported with an original photo ID allowed by Govt. of India. The hall ticket offered though is provisional yet compulsory for aspirants to produce at IES Exam Centre.
Hall Ticket of IES consists of the basic information about the participants. It is important to verify the details mentioned on e-Admission Certificate according to the information offered during IES Registration.
IES Result for all the qualified aspirants in the preliminary exam scheduled to be organized on January 07, 2018 will be declared after the exam is concluded and IES Merit List is prepared. All the qualified aspirants will be invited for the next level of IES Selection Procedure, IES Mains.
The qualified aspirants of the IES Mains will be invited for Group Discussion & Individual Interview in which the aspirants’ aptitude and communication skills are tested along with their efficiency to project their ideas and found it in a group.
