IBPS PO 2019 is an objective type, computer-based examination, while the exam format is various for the Prelims and Mains Exam and the same has been explained below.
Prelims stage of IBPS PO exam includes objective type questions which obligatory to be attempted by the aspirants in 1 hour. The medium of the exam is English and Hindi. It includes 3 sections, i.e. English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability. Section-wise distribution of questions of each section is tabulated below.

As per IBPS PO Marking Scheme, 1 mark is honored for every accurate response while ¼ marks are deducted for a wrong response. Aspirants who meet the Cut Off score in the Prelims exam as specified by IBPS will proceed to the Mains Exam.
The Mains exam is divided into 5 sections and the section-wise distribution of questions is tabulated below. Aspirants will have to response 200 questions and maximum marks for the exam is 200.

The Main Exam also has the provision of negative marking similar to the Prelims. Only aspirants who qualify the specific cut-off score in each section of Main Exams will proceed to the subsequent Interview round.

IBPS PO Result 2019 for each stage will be released on the official website as per the schedule published by IBPS in its official notification. Successful aspirants of Prelims exam will appear for Mains Exam wherein each aspirant obligatory to secure an at least cut-off score in order qualify for the Interview round.
IBPS Result for Prelims exam will be released in October 2019 while that for the Mains exam will be released in December 2019. Scores up to two decimal points will be taken for the purpose of calculations. There is a combined IBPS PO Result for qualification to the provisional allocation procedure. The accurate scores obtained by each of aspirants in various sessions of the main exam will be normalized using the equi-percentile mode. It includes the marks obtained in main and interview taken together in the ratio of 80:20 (Main: Interview).
Aspirants who qualify the Mains examination of IBPS PO 2019 will subsequently be invited for an Interview to be organized by the Participating Organizations in coordination with IBPS. Details of the interview will be communicated to the shortlisted aspirants through the Interview Call Letter which can be downloaded from the official website.
The total marks allotted for Interview are 100 while the at least qualifying score in the interview is 40 (35 for SC/ST/OBC/PWD aspirants). The weightage of the score of Main exam and interview will be in the ration of 80:20. Aspirants are expected to score sufficiently high on the merit in both Main and Interview rounds in order to be considered for subsequent provisional allocation procedure.
At the time of Interview, aspirants obligatory to furnish all prescribed documents, in the absence of which, the candidature might be canceled.
Upon successful completion of the interview procedure, depending on the vacancies at the Participating Organizations and based on merit-cum-preference of shortlisted aspirants, they will be provisionally placed with one of the Participating Organizations.
The provisional allocation of shortlisted aspirants is subject to the aspirants meeting the requisite criteria for Participating Organization as well as identity verification to the gratification of the allotted organization. is solely the discretion of the Participating Organizations. Please note that the issuance of provide of recruitment including terms and conditions etc. Once the allocation is made, no request for change will be entertained. The judgment of IBPS in the provisional allocation of Organizations is final and binding upon the selected aspirants.
