IAS Hall Ticket is published by UPSC on its official website three to four weeks prior to the exam. The hall ticket alloted by UPSC is for a Preliminary round of examination (the exam consists of three rounds Preliminary, Mains, and Interview) only and a separate hall ticket is alloted for IAS Main (only for aspirants qualifying subsequent rounds). Hall Ticket for IAS 2018 is expected to be published by the fourth week of May 2018.

IAS 2018 Hall Ticket is like a gateway for aspirants to enter the exam hall and take exam. Aspirants won’t be allowed to take exam if they fail to carry hall ticket with them. Thus, aspirants should download and take a printout of the hall ticket well in advance. IAS is organizeed in two-stage- Preliminary and Main followed by an interview of shortlisted aspirants

Aspirants would be need to download the IAS 2018 hall ticket from the official website of UPSC. No dispatching of hall tickets would take place that is i.e. hall tickets would not be sent via physical method on the aspirants registered address. Only E-copy of the hall ticket would be published and aspirants would have to carry a printout of the same to exam venue along with a valid Photo ID. Important Dates for releasing hall ticket 2018

Though the expected date of availability of hall ticket is stipulated to be the first week of June 2018 the exact dates would be notified by the organizing authority, UPSC. Aspirants would get notifications via their registered mail or mobile number. Generally, hall ticket is made available 3 to 4 weeks before the exam. Steps to download hall ticket 2018

Aspirants should download the hall tickets within the stipulated time period. At the end of the stipulated time window, the link to download the hall ticket would be disabled and aspirants would not be able to download the same. Aspirants should follow the following steps to download the IAS 2018 hall ticket:

  • Click on “Admit cards”.
  • Download this hall ticket and take a printout of the same.
  • Now click on “Civil services preliminary hall ticket”
  • Go to the official website of UPSC – www.upsc.gov.in
  • A log in window will appear.
  • Fill in your credentials like date of birth, registration number and captcha code to log in.
  • Admit card will appear on the screen.

Details contained in the hall ticket 2018

IAS 2018 hall ticket along with a valid photo ID proof is a document containing vital information relating to the exam. Following details are mentioned in IAS 2018 hall ticket:

  • The medium of Language for the exam.
  • Parent’s/guardian name.
  • Name of the aspirant.
  • Time of exam.
  • Subject for which exam is to be taken.
  • Slot-wise division of exam.
  • Registration Number
  • Roll number
  • Details of exam venue.

Aspirants failing to carry either of the two documents that are hall ticket or valid photo ID proof would not be allowed to enter the exam hall and take the exam.


The discrepancy in hall ticket (if any)

Aspirants need to download hall ticket within the stipulated time duration offered by organizing authority. Link for downloading hall ticket would get disabled after given time. Thus, aspirants must download the hall ticket within the time allotted for the same.

In case aspirant finds that any inaccurate detail is mentioned in his/her hall ticket or any discrepancy is there in the downloaded hall ticket then, he/she should immediately contact UPSC office via the different communication channels offered on the website (e-mail, toll free number, nearest aspirant centre, aspirant helpline etc.). Discrepancy (if any) would not be rectified after the exam is over.


Documents need on Exam Day

Aspirants appearing for IAS 2018 exam would need to carry the hall ticket along with a valid photo ID to the exam venue. Failing to carry these documents aspirants would not be allowed to enter the exam hall to take the exam. Following documents are accepted as valid photo ID:

  • Driving License
  • Admit card alloted by the respective board for the board exam.
  • Aadhaar card
  • Passport
  • School/College photo Id
  • PAN Card
  • Voter ID card

Apart from this, any other document alloted by some competent authority and carrying a photo of the aspirant would be treated as valid identity proof.


Important guidelines for exam day

Aspirants need to adhere to the important instructions offered on a separate page attached to IAS 2018 hall ticket which is to be downloaded from the official website. For your reference, we have mentioned those guidelines here as well:

  • Aspirants must bring two passport size coloured photograph along with hall ticket and original photo ID proof.
  • It is recommended to access the exam venue 35 to 40 minutes before the scheduled time for commencement of the exam.
  • Aspirants would not be allowed to leave the exam hall before completion of exam time i.e. 3 hours.
  • Parents and guardians are not allowed to enter the exam hall/venue.
  • Participants must bring their own stationery like pen/pencil, eraser etc. for the exam.
  • No electronic device such as mobile, calculator or other wireless equipment is allowed in the exam premises.
