HPCL Appointment via GATE 2018– Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited has released that they will be appointing via GATE 2018. HPCL Via GATE 2018 application form has been available January 10 to February 10, 2018. For eligibility purposes, the aspirants from general category & OBC (non-creamy layer) must score 60% in graduation and 50% for SC/ST and PWD aspirants. The disciplines applicable for engineering under GATE are Civil, Electronics and Telecommunication, Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation and Chemical.
The job profile on providing in HPCL via GATE 2018 is a graduate engineer in civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, electronics & telecommunications and chemical engineering.
The Application form for HPCL appointment via GATE 2018 will available from January 10 – February 10, 2018. However, the GATE Registration dates are over now.Aspirants who successfully registered for the GATE 2018 can apply for the HPCL.
For GATE 2018, a non refundable fee is need to be paid by aspirants. The application fee for General category and OBC (Non Creamy Layer) aspirants is Rs. 265/-. SC/ST/PwD aspirants are exempt from paying the fee.

Ques. What is at least educational qualification for advertised position?
Ans. Aspirants must pass have full time bachelor’s degree in engineering/technology in the advertised branchs (full time regular courses only) from recognised Indian Universities/ Institutes.
Ques. I have done AMIE, am I applicable to apply for the notified post?
Ans. Since AMIE fails to meet such requirement, the aspirants cannot be considered as applicable. Eligibility conditions state that only full time regular course/s from AICTE approved / UGC recognised University/Deemed University and the courses provideed by Autonomous Institutions equivalent to the relevant courses approved / recognised by Association of Indian Universities are applicable.

Ans. In qualifying graduate (B.E. / B. Tech.) Degree, the aspirant must have at least 60% marks (For SC, ST & PWD - at least 50%) in aggregate of all semesters.
Ques. I have a B.E. / B. Tech degree in a discipline which has not been specified in the detailed advertisement. However, course curriculum is similar to Engg. Branchs notified. Can I apply with my Engineering Branch?
Ans. No. Despite the appearance in GATE 2018 in the notified branch, the aspirants from branch other than specified branchs will not be applicable to apply.
Ques. How will Hindustan Petroleum use GATE score?
Ans. HPCL will make a shortlist of the participants on the basis of score in GATE 2018. The next stage in selection procedure involves GD/GT and/or individual interview. HPCL will HPCL will be getting the GATE-2018 scores straight from GATE authorities. For further selection procedure in HPCL, only the aspirants, who will appear in GATE-2018 in the relevant branchs with respective engineering degree and have registered themselves with HPCL, and also applicable in all respects would be considered.

Ans. Yes. For appointment purpose of HPCL, only GATE-2018 score will be considered.
Ques. Is there any upper age limit for appearing in GATE?
Ans. The upper age limit as on 30th June 2017 for the General category aspirants is 25 years. It means their date of birth should on or after June 30, 1992. As per the Presidential Directives, eligible age relaxation will be allowed to aspirants belonging to OBC (Non Creamy Layer)/SC/ST/PWD/Ex-servicemen/Domicile of J&K category.

Ans. A at least score of 60% in qualifying degree examinations is need for General and OBC-NC category and an aggregate at least score of 50% for SC/ST/PWD aspirants.

Ans. Aspirants presently in final year of their engineering can also apply. However, if selected, they must be in a position to submit their final mark sheet and degree certificate by 31st August, 2018. Further at the time of applying Aspirants (belonging to General and OBC-NC category) should have secured at least 60% aggregate marks up to last semester examinations, which is relaxed to 50% for SC/ST/PWD aspirants.
Ques. Is there any physical fitness criteria for appearing in GATE?
Ans. As per Hindustan Petroleum’s pre-employment medical standards, the aspirants must be medically fit. Please note that Defective Colour Vision is a medical disqualification for employment with HPCL.
Ques. If I seeking to change my GATE examination venue or seeking to accurate a error in GATE form or if I face difficulty in downloading my GATE hall ticket with registration number, whom should I get in touch with?
Ans. For any rectification, you are need to contact GATE authorities as HPCL has no control on organizeing GATE examination. Ques. I am working with Central / State Govt / PSU, Do I required to apply via proper channel, If yes Where do I send the hard copy of my online application form?
Ans. The aspirants may send the physical copy of their online application form to, Deputy General Manager – Manpower Planning & Talent Sourcing, HPCL, Petroleum House, 17, Jamshedji Tata Road, Churchgate, Mumbai 400020 in case of applying via proper channel is pre-requisite for obtaining NOC at the time of Interview by present employer of the aspirant.
Ques. If I am not able to take print out of my application after filling the online application, can I take it at a later stage? Can I make changes in the online application? Will I be able to view my application after submitting the same online?
Ans. Yes. Once submitted, however, no changes in the application will be allowed. Using your unique application ID number and GATE registration number, youcan view or print your application anytime. Hence, it is advised to the aspirants to read all the instructions cautiously before filling the application and confirm your details before final submission.
Ques. How do I fill in the % of marks in the online application, as our University gives only letter CGPA ?
Ans. In a case where the university does not give %age for awarding Class/Division, the letter grade/CGPA/OGPA should be converted into %age as per the conversion formula applied by the Institute/University for awarding Class / Division. The aspirant is responsible for arranging the percentage conversion formula/ equivalent certificate from the institute.
Ques. I belong to the reserved category. Am I need to attach the Certificate at the time of applying online?
Ans. No. However, the requisite certificates are compulsorily need at the time of interview. Please note that onus of providing accurate information w.r.t. At the time of applying online, no Caste/Category certificate is need to be attached. caste/community rests entirely with the aspirants, In case of information/documents furnished turn out to be false or incorrect, the candidature will be cancelled.
Ques. While filling online application I have wrongly entered my category/ date of birth etc. How do I rectify it?
Ans. After submission of online application form, there is no provision of manual intervention for editing any details in the application forms under any circumstances.
Ques. While uploading a photograph I have by error uploaded my signature/pan card etc. how do I change it?
Ans. Please note that application procedure for all the positions is via online application method only. You must upload the same photograph which was uploaded at the time of GATE 2018 registration. There is no provision for manual intervention for changing the photograph uploaded during online application, after submission. Any error in uploading will amount to rejection of application. The aspirants are advised to be careful while uploading scanned images. After submission of online application form, there is no provision of manual intervention for editing any details in the application forms under any circumstances.

Ques. I am a Mechanical engineer and belong to PWD category (Low Vision). I am not able to clear my online form.
Ans. Online application module has got inbuilt validation with respect to eligibility criteria. As per the List of posts identified appropriate for persons with disabilities (PWD) by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Notification, aspirants not meeting the eligibility criteria will not be able to submit the online application.

Ans. The aspirants can make payment towards application fee either by debit/credit card or via challan at any SBI discipline. Challan payment can be made after 2 working days from date of completion of online application.

For persons with disabilities (PwD) with a disability of 40% or more, 3% o the vacancies are reserved. Some posts of Officer Trainee – Engineering Branch are fit for Hearing Handicapped aspirants. Such recruitment in these vacancies will first consider different factors such as nature of duties & responsibilities of the job, location, hazard, strain & interference of disability with work performance and health. The aspirant will be finally recruited based on medical fitness with respect to job profile of the identified posts.
Initially, the selected aspirants will have to undergo a six month long training. A consolidated stipend of Rs. 50,000/- per month is acquired by Officer Trainees during the training period. After successful completion of training, they will be absorbed at the entry level in the Management Cadre in ‘A’ grade in the Salary Scale of Rs. 24,900 - 50,500. Such absorption will be subject to fulfilling the need performance concerned/ other criterion. They’ll be on further probation duration of 6 months.
